ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 26, 1986

Nancy is shopping herself into a hole in the ground. She returned home with the Feeling that Chris had called wanting them to get back together.

Chris is trying to compose a dear Jane letter. Quelle horrible surprise.

Kathleen talked to Vince and hung up without putting Cass on. He asked what Vince had said. "over my dead body," apparently.

Victoria pointed out that she could buy a paper herself. Donna relinquished hers. The front page bore a photograph of Michael Hudson, president of the multinational conglomerate New Resources. Victoria asked why he was working as their stableboy.

Kathleen said her father was just being protective of his little girl. He and Cass don't get along. Reasons for this include: Cecile, Ross, Emily Benson killer nurse, Tony the tuna — the list goes on and on. [You know how it is. A murder here, a murder there, and before you know it your father's worrying himself into a mashed potato.] Cass said he'd changed. Kathleen said she'd explained to him. The big problem is Vince thinks he's marrying a thrifty McKinnon for her money. Cass deemed this to be the Limit. He was willing to drive to West Virginia to set him straight but Kathleen said he was coming home. She forbade him to fight her father. He assured her he loved her more than Cecile. He said he hadn't loved Cecile, he had been obsessed with her and yes, there was a difference.

Dee and Marley told Nancy Chris hadn't called. Nancy is hellbent on being optimistic although she said sometimes she didn't feel like she wanted back into the relationship. They assured her she did want. Nancy wants Chris to need her. Nancy's rent check bounced. She's surprised. Marley wrote another. She told Dee she figured Chris could stop her.

Chris is crumpling more than his fair share of paper. He phoned instead of writing and suggested he and Nancy talk. She was too eager for words.

Donna fled from the room in silence. Victoria asked what was up. Peter told her Donna and Michael had had an argument which wound up with Donna firing him. Peter suspects Michael was trying to infiltrate Cory. He tried to call him but Michael is not taking any calls. He refused to let Victoria come with him to see Michael.

Michael is some swell businessman. Sherry wants to get the hell out of Bay City. He will accept calls only from Donna. He can't leave Bay City behind. If Donna won't cooperate she'll witness one of his takeover moves he sa [sic].

Jake asked Chris for an interview about the treasure for his documentary. Chris doesn't thrill to the idea. Enter Carter who greeted Jake a little too exuberantly [Jake is in pain]. Jake left. Carter gave Chris a cake based baked by Thomasina. Chris is busy busy busy with the clinic and university and stuff. Carter suggested Nancy. Chris said she didn't understand what he was going through. Carter told him he'd want Thomasina in such a spot and he needed Nancy.

Nancy's overdrawn everywhere. The roomies forgive her everything. Nancy figures if Chris asks her to move back in her problems are solved. She'll never shop again. Budget time. And she'll get a new job. She'll return all the stuff she hasn't worn.

Victoria arrived to talk to Michael. She told him he had disrupted Lovelife in a big way. He sent Sherry to lunch. she asked what was going on. He refused to explain. She asked about Peter's theory. She said she'd leave him alone if he lent her $300,000.

The price of the Plains Motel is soaring out of Jake's grasp. Marley told him it would all work out in the end. He marvels at how she can always make everything all right. She told him not to give up.

MJ called Cass to warn him Vince was gunning for him. Cass intends to plead his own case. Kathleen broke it to him that she wasn't going to live with him until after they were married. She wants to appease pops in every way possible. Cass calmed down and suggested a picnic.

Nick wants the money to buy the Plains Motel for Jake. Michael was surprised. He accused her of wanting Jake forever in her debt and said it must be hard to see Jake and Marley together all the time. She said she didn't know why she'd come to him because he probably thought she was crazy. He hastened to assure her he was glad she'd come and he liked her. They get along swell but he won't give her the money. He likes Marley. He asked them to dinner. Jake is welcome to tag along. Victoria: you know, you're really a weird man. Michael: is that a cut or a compliment? Victoria: a compliment. They parted on good terms.

Dee left Nancy and Chris alone. Chris was at a loss for words. He told her she'd made a big difference in his life and he didn't blame her for the hearing. She knew he'd come to say goodbye.

Kathleen's feeling good. Being with Cass is swell. Silence. He said she was irresistible and he wanted her. She was hesitant but he calmed her fears.

Donna told Peter she wouldn't tell the twins about Michael. Peter told her it was time to face the music.

Chris says without danger and romance he can see clearly that he and Nancy aren't meant for each other. She said she felt the same way. [Don't believe it.] So long and thanks for the memories, kid. Goodbye, Nancy. Nancy wept.

Cass won't permit buts.
