ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 26, 1985

Jake made a sinister phone call about the room. He's under someone's thumb. Maisie knocked.

Dee's thrilled to death but she won't tell Lily why.

Kathleen didn't get any sleep. She has a meeting with Jamie and Peter. IMPORTANT. They found Cass asleep on the back porch. Kathleen doesn't want to see him. She fled. Cass awakened. MJ let him in. Cass asked if she knew what was going on. MJ doesn't know. Lily called. Tony's on his way over and she thinks Cass should be there. He rushed over. A strange woman came to rent the room. Bridget someone. Connell. A weird accent. (Such a lovely 'ouse.) A nanny. Well-traveled. She mentioned Alaska but I doubt it's sinister. She's taking it.

Jake let Maisie in. He'd already cleared the room though. He's going to jog 3 miles.

The insurance cheque came for Felicia. Dee's in a good mood. Cass arrived somewhat disheveled I think. In a baddish temper. Felicia and Wally left. Cass called Kathleen but he couldn't keep her interest. Dee went to her room because he was fairly abstracted.

The Todds are looking for jobs. Carter doesn't want to play football. Grant thinks it's an ideal solution. Football scholarship at Bay State. Minor dust-up. Carter wants to make his own decisions. Tom's laundering. Carter left for Smiley's.

Nancy and Marley and Jake discussing exercise and lunch. Marley likes him. Maisie lost her money pouch. She found it.

If Jamie and Kathleen do well Nouvelle will get off to a grand start. Jamie's mad that Peter can't be traced.

Dee brought Cass food. He wasn't hungry. She tried to make herself agreeable and obsequious. He's musing on Kathleen. Tony arrived. Lily left. He wouldn't eat Dee's soup either. Dee's grandmother's on her way. Cass says Dee's a cinch to make the deb ball. Tony told him if he laid ONE FINGER on his niece it would be the last move he'd ever make. He's rendered suspicious by Dee's servitude.

Jake returned. He wants lunch with Marley and Nancy. Nancy's disappeared.

Nancy's in Jake's room snooping. She found vast quantities of photos of Marley and something else. Jake and Maisie approached. Nancy took cover. Jake wandered in.

Grant tried to stop Tom from cleaning up but she wants to. He wants her to rest because of the baby. He's looking forward to having vast quantities of folk in the house. Lily and Felicia and Wallingford arrived to see Grant. They told him about the insurance. They want to buy a new restaurant NOT CALLED TALLBOYS.

Cass denied any manner of physical intimacy with Dee. Tony wants to talk about the cotillion. He's got a Hennessy in his power to get Dee in. But it has to be managed before the grandmother arrives. He reminded Cass Dee is off limits. Ciao, Casanova. Cass called Kathleen again.

Lily Felicia and Grant toasting everything. Lily wants to visit with Tom. Felicia left. Grant was rather friendly and complimentary.

MJ hasn't a green thumb. Bridget'll teach her about herbs and things. Kathleen called to say the ad had not yet been published due to a foul up. (Herbs . . . strange knowledge . . . somebody tell me this woman is NOT A WITCH.) MJ told her the room was already rented. She asked Bridget how she'd found out about the room. She guessed she had a friend at the paper and she was not corrected.

Cass can't get through to Kathleen. Wallingford returned. He asked about Kathleen. Cass doesn't know what he's done. He's about ready to give up. Wally gave him a pep talk. Cass left for the complex.

Perry wants to know where Nancy is. She's not been seen for a bit.

Jake's working out. Nancy's watching from the closet. He went to shower (we saw his clothes falling to the floor. Presumably Nancy saw more.) She crept out.

Jamie and Kathleen have just about pulled it off. The advertisers are thrilled and on the brink or buying. They'd like to see Sally sometime. No mention was made of Peter.

Cass tried to get past a frosty Liz to see Kathleen in the meeting.

Nancy made her way to the door. Perry knocked and she froze.

Restaurant plotting. They've found a place for sale down by the bay. Wally says it's jinxed so they trashed it. The Old Mill Inn was settled on if poss. Dee wants to know where Cass is.

Liz tried to keep Cass out but he burst in as the advertising female was saying things about DIGNITY and INTEGRITY. He demanded an audience with Kathleen.

Brittany is a region of western France. Evan is the Welsh form of John meaning God is good. Bridget means high or august (in the sense of awe-inspiring or venerable, natch). Hubie is presumably from Hubert meaning bright spirit or mind. Stan (the locksmith) is dim. Of Stanley from an English surname from a place name.

THIS WELSHNESS.

Oh and Deirdre. From the name of the heroine of an Irish myth.
