ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

February 27, 1985

Dee went to get her bags. Frankie told Tony they'd just been talking. Tony said last time they'd been talking Dee'd wound up at the detention centre and they'd only been saved from the scaffold by Tony's connections. Frankie said Cass & Kathleen were nice folks who were just trying to let Dee have a little fun. Tony told him to get out. He's going to talk to Cass & Kathleen.

Peter told Catlin to let him do most of the talking. Catlin said he wanted to himself because it was his problem. Peter said he'd be wise to keep this thing legal and Catlin's tendency to get emotional wouldn't help. Catlin said he'd take care of it himself.

Nancy's missing. Ada's somewhat worried.

Carl's got Nancy. She's making most peculiar noises.

Cass tried to be reasonable. Tony said he needed to be taught a lesson and he'd let Rocco do it. Cass said putting Dee with Frankie showed the progress Dee'd made. Kathleen and Cass talked and talked. Tony was unconvinced. Dee returned and refused to go.

The sheriff is obnoxious. On and on about locking Ewin' up for a long long time. Making a fuss about his big city lawyer. On about Catlin fancying himself Willa's knight in shining armour. He said Willa was not a lady but trash. He waxed eloquent on that for a bit until Catlin sprang to his feet scattering furniture in all directions and attacked him (that's what it SOUNDED like. Throughout Peter was being lawyerlike.)

MJ's trying to calm Ada. Mac thinks she [Nancy] might've gone to see Perry.

Telephone ringing for a very long time. Unanswered.

Sally is listless. Worrying about Catlin. She thinks p'r'aps it was unwise to throw Peter into the mess. (She thinks he doesn't like spending what would've been his honeymoon in Dry Creek WITH PETER. Hostility. She only suggested Peter because both Brian and Mark were out of town and she didn't want to go to a complete stranger.) Mac called with a garbled tale of woe for Alice (Sally's sympathetic ear.) Ada's coming down with flu he says. Alice says she'll come by. She doesn't like to leave Sally but Sally says it's all right. Alice left. Sally's going to do some cleaning up. I don't know what she found but it caused her to say "Oh, Catlin. You need a woman to take care of you."

Catlin didn't actually attack him. The sheriff taunted him about being scared. Catlin said he hadn't come to fight but to do the right thing. This the sheriff took with glee and raved about how Catlin's prettyboy lawyer wouldn't do him any good and he'd soon be in jail for a vair' long time. Catlin and Peter are practically confident he's wrong. The sheriff left. Peter pointed out to Catlin that yelling at sheriffs does no one any good. Catlin said he couldn't let him badmouth a dead Willa who was a good kid. He apologized for losing his temper. Peter warned him not to blow up at the hearing.

Tony wants to talk to Dee alone. Dee told him (with almost impeccable grammar) she'd outgrown Frankie and they owed it to Cass and she wanted to continue.

Catlin talking to Sally on the phone. She told him there wasn't a lot he could do to help Willa now and she hoped he was thinking of himself. He said he was mostly thinking about her. She requested specifics. He mentioned the way her hair smells and kissing her neck. He's been away five hours and twenty-seven minutes. They're agreed it's too long. He said he loved her. She said she loved him. She asked how things are with Peter. He said p'r'aps he'd misjudged him he was working so hard to get him off.

Peter in a sleazy bar looking for information. About "these two people." One can assume he showed the photo of Catlin & Willa. The bartender asked why, had the fellow stolen his girl? Peter said no. The bartender said he didn't recognise them. Peter left the photo to refresh his memory and dispersed. The bartender called someone to tell him that a prettyboy blond in expensive clothes had been asking about Willa.

Alice says Ada's not got flu but she's agitated. She asked why. She was appeased with vague statements. She also said she'd asked about Rachel and her blood pressure'd shot up. Mac said he was sorry but they couldn't tell her. MJ said she should leave. Perry arrived. Alice left understandingly. They asked him if he'd seen Nancy. They told him about Rachel. He deduced they think Carl's got Nancy.

Something's wrong with Carl's face. (I suspect Nancy clawed him.)

Nancy left Ada's car at Smiley's (is Carl beneath Smiley's or something?). Perry asked MJ if she thought Carl had Nancy. MJ says it's a possibility. Perry says if he hurts Nancy he'll kill him.

Carl says Rachel looks tired. But even with dark circles under her eyes she looks beautiful and fragile. She says she's lost her appetite. They argued. He spoke of the stubborn Corys. She asked what he'd done many times in a panic. It sounds like he's done something to Nancy.

Tony wants his niece CIVILIZED. He's giving Cass one final chance. He told Dee she could stay. She thanked him profusely and said he'd made the right decision. Tony left. Cass told Dee he owed her. She sang off to her room. Cass is happy and surprised. Kathleen thinks she can get Donna to set up a Royer interview. Cass is happy. Kissing.

Dee writing in her diary. She realises she's changed. Winthrop, Winthrop. He's driving her nuts. She doesn't understand the feeling, but it's got to stop.

Sally & Catlin thinking about each other? Just music but it changed. The same tune but different styles. During the second bit Sally said to herself everything would be all right.

Perry found Nancy's bracelet in his room. Broken. The Corys fear. Ada is a mere shell of her former self.
