Sally can't marry him. His wife is alive. Peter exulted.
Catlin said Britt was only a memory and Sally was now. She said she was confused. He said he wasn't and begged her to marry him.
Kathleen fled.
Rachel is raving about the inauguration. Joyce told her the magazines were out of date. Ada arrived. Joyce is using the nurses' we. She's driving Rachel up the wall. She doesn't remember Nancy very well. Rachel says she likes Ada. Jamie's coming over. Ada says he's a very sensitive boy -- young man. Rachel remembers 1066 (of course. It wouldn't've made the book otherwise) but not his birth. Ada filled her in.
Jamie stopped by to see MJ. He's nervous about seeing Rachel. MJ was confident. She told him not to worry. He says confiding in her makes him feel better.
Cass pried Dee loose. She was thrilled. He said it shouldn't've happened. She said she had liked him a long time. She's euphoric. He said she shouldn't get the wrong idea. Wally found Kathleen's flowers and came in. Dee waltzed off (euphorically) to put them in water. Cass babbled to Wallingford.
Sally said she hadn't stopped loving Catlin. She wants him to tell her things though. He said it was hard but he did speak of Britt's laugh as we faded out.
Peter's been coshed or something. The man said he'd take care of him. Brittany doesn't seem to like it.
Rachel's nervous about meeting Jamie. He came in. He brought her flowers. Ada told her they were among her favourites. She thanked him. Ada left them alone. She asked about his father. Steven Frame he said. Quite a guy. He said Mac was like his father too. She asked if Steve were related to her doctor. Jamie told her they'd been married. Rachel filed that away and asked if he were married. He said he had been and it was a long story. She asked him about himself. Awkward silence. She's upset he didn't jog her memory. He said she was the best mother in the world. "Do you mind if I touch you?" she said. Joyce came to show Jamie out so's she could nap. Rachel demanded to see Alice.
Wallingford: I don't believe it. You were kissing. Cass: SHE was kissing. I was trying to think. Cass explained everything. Wally told him not to give the wrong impression. Cass said he'd tried to explain. Wally doesn't think she fully understands. And he shouldn't've let it happen.
Kathleen doesn't want to talk about it. MJ asked what was up. Kathleen was loud and violent but still didn't say anything. MJ told her to call Cass and not to do anything rash. Kathleen called a locksmith.
Sally and Catlin lounging about discussing their newborn children.
Peter being unconscious. The man said he'd told him to stay out of his business.
Cass tried to explain to Dee. She said she understood. Dee: I got a crush on you (aside to Wallingford: you spread that and I deck you). I like you. A lot. Cass said he just liked her. She left cheerful. Wally guesses she does understand. Cass wonders where Kathleen was.
The McKinnon locks are being changed. (Stan [locksmith]: Sign of the times. I'm back to locking out husbands. For a long time I was locking out boyfriends but I think the country's a little more stable . . . there aren't any children, are there? MJ: Just Cass and Kathleen.) Kathleen's stomping around. She paid him and he left. (MJ: You stuck with him when he wore a dress, when he almost got you shot, when he almost got you killed in Majorca -- Kathleen: Well, MJ, the good times are over, y'know? MJ: Well I shudder to think what he could do to make you lock him out.) Kathleen said she was stupid about men and she wouldn't let it happen again. MJ advised her to talk to Cass but she won't because he'd be so glib. Kathleen's verging on tears. She wants Cass kept out.
Rachel asked Alice about their common husband. Alice didn't let on that Another World was concerned with that triangle for years. She told her they get along now. Alice also said during one of Rachel & Mac's divorces she and Mac had been engaged. She managed to get in a couple of digs about Rachel's man-hunting tactics but of course Rachel had no idea what was going on. Alice told her she should talk to her own family about it. She left. "What the hell did I do?" said Rachel.
Ada's annoyed at Alice for telling everything. Ada told her she [Rachel] was just young and misguided when she pursued Steve. Ada told her they (the two present) fight a lot. She left.
Dee writing in her diary. She says she knows Cass loves her as much as she loves him.
Catlin and Sally sleeping together actually using furniture. They're determined to be happy. They both sound half asleep rather.
The man told Britt to forget about Peter and he'd taken care of him. Peter seems to be in a hold or downstairs or something.
Cass found himself to be locked out. And his luggage on the porch. He didn't clue in.
