ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

December 26, 1984

Sally Frame, being of the opinion that her betrothed was in need of a diversion from fixing up cabins in the woods, accordingly tracked him to one and proceeded to divert him. She says that the cabin looks fine but it needs a woman's touch.

Jamie told Mac that Blaine had found out about Carl's father and the company that was ruined. Apparently Carl has twisted the truth to satisfy his own conscience. And he's been plotting revenge for years.

Carl is having a nightmare. About the discovery of Sandy's betrayal. Perry arrived. He professed to be concerned about him. Carl was extremely strange. He raved about trust and gambling and losing and the devoted son courting death. He called Perry Carl. Perry told him he'd called him Carl. At first Carl denied it but Perry persisted so Carl said it didn't matter. Then he raved about living with Donna. He said it wasn't heaven on earth. And he accused Perry of having filial feelings for Donna. He said he could tell Perry a few things about her. He said she was poison. Belladonna. Beautiful but deadly. Perry said he hadn't come to talk about Donna. Carl offered to tell him a secret about her but Perry didn't want to hear it. Carl said Donna's soul was dead. Carl accused Perry of being on Mac's side. Then he raved about Sandy for a bit (although he didn't mention his name) and said he couldn't pardon treason. Carl said he must have his briefcase. Perry said he'd probably left it at Donna's. Carl told him to tell Donna she was to return his briefcase locked in exchange for his silence. He mentioned Marley in passing.

Donna is having Carl's things collected up and removed. Marley hopes Donna isn't doing this for her sake alone but Carl always did scare her.

The true story: Carl was in charge of a company. He sold it to a man called Flynn who was in charge of Cory's European acquisitions at the time. His father committed suicide and FOLLOWING that there was an incredible Cory mess in Europe in which Carl's company was allowed to fail. The point of this being, the father committed suicide as a result of Carl's sale of the company and not its subsequent failure, so nothing is Mac's fault.

Sally became aware that helping Catlin rest wasn't doing the cabin much good (although Catlin maintained that it was doing him wonders) and suggested they find something that needed to be done. He showed her what he had accomplished and she dissolved in raptures over it. She raved rather about the cabin being a special place. Catlin said they were alone there together and they should make the most of it. A lot of kissing, which was almost immediately interrupted by Larry and Clarice.

Nancy misses the vast hordes of missing Corys. Mac says they're safer away from there. Nancy is upset about Perry being Carl's son.

Larry and Clarice were let in. Larry wanted to know what took Catlin so long to open the door. Sally appeared at this juncture and she and Catlin tried to explain that they'd been busy working but were unable to keep their stories straight as to where. Larry presented Catlin with an application for cadet school, and Catlin accepted it incredulously. Larry extolled the virtues of the force in general and Clarice extolled the predicted beauty of Catlin in uniform. Catlin said he'd think about it.

Perry told Donna of his meeting with Carl. He said Carl had been rambling, incoherent, messy, unshaven, but not drunk. Perry's concerned about Carl. He says Carl hates Mac. He told Donna Carl was rambling on about Marley but he didn't know what he was talking about. Perry asked Donna to tell him what's going on. Marley arrived on the scene and said she had a right to know too.

Mac went to Carl's office. Carl was incoherent and mumbling. Mac asked if Carl were drunk. Carl denied it. Mac said Carl wasn't much of a man. He goaded him. He said Carl didn't have the guts to take him on himself instead of sending lackeys to hurt the ones Mac loves. Mac told Carl it was his fault his father died. Mac said he'd get Carl. He left. Carl said to himself Mac was wrong because a son couldn't do that to his father and therefore Mac was to blame.

Blaine presented MJ with some crimes Carl had committed. Very minor ones. MJ was reluctant to act. Jamie wants to get Carl.

Donna told Marley that Carl was just jealous of the attention she lavishes on Marley and Perry. Perry said Carl said he knew all of Donna's secrets. Donna said Carl was disturbed. Donna and Perry left to return the briefcase.

Larry told Catlin to talk to some sergeant or other. Clarice and Larry left. Sally said they should talk about the police force. She told him he shouldn't become a cop if he didn't want to. He said it was what they needed and that was all that mattered. She said she wanted him to be happy. He was short with her.

MJ's mad at Jamie. He apologised. She told him not to take the law into his own hands. She said she hadn't seen much of him recently and she's worried he's losing interest in her. He said she was important to him.

Sally advised Catlin not to be a policeman just because he respected Larry and needed a job. He said they could pay the mortgage if he became a cop and she said she couldn't believe how serious he was. He said (rather testily) that it was about time he took something seriously. She reiterated that he shouldn't commit himself for the sake of money and security if he wouldn't be happy. He said he would be happy because he had her and Kevin. She told him if he became a cop he'd have to take a lot of orders and that didn't sound like him. He got a little mad but she placated him. She said she loved him. He said he loved her. They decided they had a lot of work to do and there was momentary silence. Then Catlin started to laugh strangely and Sally said "No. No. No. No. No don't, please, no." Why, I have no idea. Visions of woodstain attacks.

Larry said the stuff they had was thin at best. Mac and Jamie pressed him to keep Carl off balance and they said that now was a good time because Carl is a wreck. Larry agreed reluctantly.

Perry and Donna arrived at Carl's office. Carl was weird. Donna wanted to talk to Carl alone. Carl was flip. Donna said she wasn't afraid of him and she wouldn't let him ruin her family. She said he hadn't any holds on her any more. He said he'd keep the secret of her little love child. Donna left. Carl destroyed his will. He said, "I bequeath to you, Sandy Cory, my hate and misery and may you inherit nothing but sorrow and misfortune."

Mac told Rachel everything is going according to plan. He misses her.

MJ and Larry are going to arrest Carl. They burst into his office and did.
