ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

June 25, 1985

Felicia: Well now I think we should do this properly. Which means that someone should take minutes of our meeting. Cass: We're WASTING minutes, Felicia. Kathleen: Let's face it, Winthrop is dead in the water. Cass: WRONG Kathleen. Winthrop is alive and kicking. Flourishing, in fact. Winthrop PUBLISHING is dead in the water. Felicia: Now wait a minute. Any company that I own fifty percent of is NOT dead. Now as the majority stockholder I think I have a right to take the floor. Cass: You can take the floor, the ceiling, and the walls. Felicia: CASS. I'm serious. Cass: So am I. Seeing as I only own ten percent of my own company, having lost most of my shares through BLACKMAIL -- I mean NEGOTIATIONS with Kathleen -- Felicia: All right. This meeting has just been called to order. Cass: Please, Felicia, could we make this REAL quick? Felicia: Now as far as I can see our only asset AT PRESENT is Cass' beauty book. Kathleen: Well, that's HARDLY an asset. Cass: I beg your pardon, Kathleen? Kathleen: I only mean that after your HUGE ENORMOUS cut of the profits -- Cass: You approved that cut, and so did Felicia. Kathleen: NEVERTHELESS, what little was left went to pay SOME of our debts. Cass: Right. Now what are you talking about, Felicia? WHY DID YOU REALLY BRING US HERE?

Adrienne called Carter for another run. Tommy Lee doesn't trust her. Jimmy told him she'd warned Ewing. He's going to find out what's going on between them.

Rachel was doing a sketch which she said she'd show Ada WHEN IT WAS FINISHED. Ada peeked and called Mac over to see. Rachel was peeved. It was a sketch of the living room of Ada's house. Rachel wants to go there with Ada for her memory. She thinks this could be it.

Daphne and Michaud are on very good [kissing] terms. He's abstracted though. He wants Felicia's party to be perfect. He's been reading her books for research. He thinks it's time they appointed the American head of Lesoleil. [He's seen Felicia before, known her.]

Winthrop is in the black. Dividend cheques floating about freely. Cass: How much is yours, Kathleen? Kathleen: Exactly $2.73. Yours? Cass: Exactly 25% of that. I guess I can go get that Porsche I've had my eye on. What are you going to do, lock us up again? Kathleen: That was SO MUCH FUN. Cass: It didn't work then and it's not going to work now. The phone rang. They made as if to leave but stopped when Felicia said hullo DAPHNE. Cass: I have all my calls forwarded. Kathleen: I DON'T. He took the call.

Dee wants to get a gorgeous crate for a kitchen table. She went back to bed to see how her dream ended. Tom & Carter like her. Jake came by with Carter's KBAY paycheque. He's in a great mood because of Marley. Tom & Carter want to throw a party for her. Jake wouldn't tell them who the donor was. Carter left. Dee came out bemoaning the fact that recall of the dream hadn't worked. She then noticed Jake and said "Thomasina, why didn't you tell me you had company I could've gotten DRESSED." Jake said her robe was very becoming on her and she had wonderful legs. She said she bet his legs weren't bad either and he said she'd have to judge that for herself. She said she'd take him to the beach and find out this summer. Tom: Dee, you'd better watch out for this guy he has quite a reputation. Dee: AS WHAT? Tom: Oh, what would you say, Jake, a playboy? Jake: Come on Thomasina you know I'm a one-woman man. (Home lovin' type, all complete with slippers and pipe (or alternatively cute 'n' clean 'n' purty 'n' bright big enough for two but not for three)) Tom: Oh, really? Is there one woman now? Jake: Not yet. Tom: You sure? Jake: I gotta go. Tom: Of course. Because you know I'll get it out of you if you don't. Exit Jake. Dee: Oof, he's gorgeous. Tom: You think so? Dee: Who wouldn't think so? Gosh, what a face. Dee asked what Tom knew about him. She related the Nancy Jake Perry thing. She then said she thought he had eyes for Marley.

Peg and Charlotte MacHenry, sisters, live in Ada's house now. Rachel looked around. The sisters are bowlers. Rachel went upstairs alone. She'd almost given up hope when she began remembering arguing about the bathroom with Nancy.

Nancy stood alone crying. Jake appeared and 'tried to sell her a magazine subscription'. He comforted her. He told her the good news about Marley. She cried some more about Perry. She asked about Victoria. Jake said she was much different from Marley. Nancy got weird and suspicious but Jake got around knowing Vic so well. A package came for Nancy from Carl Hutchins.

Cass was neither ecstatic nor depressed. He left. Kathleen assumed she'd got the job and rushed off to await Daphne's call (pleased but feeling badly for Cass). Cass returned and said he had to talk to Felicia and it was an emergency. He told her he'd got the job and he was just feeling rotten about Kathleen. She told him what Kathleen thought. He feels lousy for not telling her. He needs help figuring out how to go about it. Felicia told him to tell her in person and take whatever she dished out. He said he realised now how asinine the competition had been. He said he'd turn it down but Felicia convinced him it would do no one any good. He never meant to hurt her (but he doesn't love her, oh no). He'll have to track her down quickly because he has to go to New York to meet Michaud before lunch. He left.

Adrienne told Tommy Lee she and Jimmy didn't like each other. The business is not going well. Tommy Lee is not going to be happy if she's fooling around with Ewing. He left. She picked up the phone.

Clarice is kind of pleased Sally's away for a while because she likes having Catlin around to take care of and talk to. Not that she's not glad that he and Sally are back together. He asked about Larry. The phone rang. She answered. Adrienne hung up. "It's a woman," whimpered Clarice, stricken.

Peg figures out people's shoe sizes (Ada, 6; Rachel, 7). Ada and Rachel were invited to stay for cookies & lemonade. Rachel appeared and told Ada what she'd remembered and she couldn't wait to tell Mac. Peg or Charlotte asked who Mac was. "Mac's my husband," said Rachel proudly.

Nancy didn't open the parcel because they were things of Perry's. She'll maybe do it later. Mac comforted her.

Cass called from the Chicago airport to tell Felicia he couldn't find Kathleen and he had to go. Kathleen called on the other line to say she hadn't heard from Daphne. Felicia tried to put the two phones together but Cass had flown. Felicia said Kathleen should come over right away.

Clarice told Catlin Larry was having an affair with a rich and generous woman -- witness the car. Catlin calmly and quietly said he wasn't. Clarice got hysterical. Catlin was rational. Clarice was irrational. Catlin said Larry loved her. Clarice said Larry wouldn't talk to her any more. Catlin said he didn't think Larry would do this to her and he'd help her find out what was really going on. She cried and made him promise whatever he found out he was to tell her the truth.

Felicia explained to Kathleen about the job and how bad Cass felt.

Adrienne was bitchy to Carter. She gave him his advance for tomorrow's trip. She has something for him to take to Steve. He left. She picked up the phone but put it down when Tommy Lee and Jimmy came in. She told him the New Orleans run was smooth. He sent Jimmy to persuade Ewing to join them for a little while. He's real anxious to get to know Adrienne's new boyfriend.

Rachel sketched Billy Perkins who lived next door to the old house. Her first love. Moved away when she was about ten. She doesn't really remember him. She looked at it and said she had good taste in men. Ada said suddenly, "I THINK I hear the teakettle whistling. I DO. I hear the teakettle whistling," and left. They [Rachel & Mac] agreed she had an uncanny sense of hearing and timing. Rachel thinks she'll remember more if she goes back to the house.

Kathleen sounds drained. She's going to work so hard for Brava now. She consoled herself with the thought that Cass wouldn't have had any job if she'd won. Felicia told her they were both extraordinary people. Felicia told her Cass loved her very much. Kathleen said she knew Cass and he wouldn't have time for much more than Lesoleil now.

Cass arrived in New York. Michaud has something Very Important to show him but he's not to tell Felicia about it.
