ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

November 24, 1987

Lisa tried out a casserole on Jamie. Victoria dashed up as he pulled a face.

Rex found Monique rummaging through his drawers. She freaked out when he came in with a huge bouquet of flowers and accused him of having slept with Nicole.

Nicole told Donna how awkward it was having to share Rex' suite because of That Old Carrot's detective. Donna asked if Rex was trying to exercise his husbandly rights. [I gagged.] Nicole said no, she thought he was having an affair. Donna asked if that hurt her.

Monique grabbed the flowers and beat Rex about the head. When she found a jewelry box on him she felt her suspicions had been confirmed, until she opened it and found the wedding bands nestled therein. All part of the plan. He said he loved her. She wanted him to say more than his wife, and he said she [his wife] had been unfaithful. End of story. Passionate kisses. She made-up her mind to trust him and assured him Cass meant nothing to her.

Nicole said it didn't matter as long as Rex didn't jeopardize her trust fund money. Donna refused to discuss Michael. Rex appeared and set about planning with Nicole.

Sorry, not a casserole, but a soufflé. Jamie [unconvincingly] maintained it was fine. Ada and Victoria tested it. Peanut butter was the wrong ingredient. Victoria looked uncomfortable when Jamie kissed Lisa goodbye and drew herself to his attention with a mention of her appointment with the chief volunteer. Jamie ran into Rachel fresh from Zurich at the door. He didn't want to talk about Amanda. Exit Jamie. Victoria looked sick when John came in. She told Lisa Jamie was so wonderful it was a pity he didn't have a twin. Lisa said he did have a cousin. Enter Adam. Adam cozied up to John. John refused to work with him. Adam went to cozy up to Lisa and Victoria instead. They're going to practice cooking at the Romance later. Adam lost control of his vocal cords for a minute and sort of gazed silently at Victoria when a response was clearly called for. He looked embarrassed a little and left. Lisa told Victoria Adam liked her. She's all in favour of such a match. Victoria fled for the hospital. John pursued her.

Cass readjusted the compact. Monique came in, confident in Rex' fidelity. Cass tried to undermine said confidence. He hinted that Rex could be happy married to Nicole and her money and why would he want to see it end?

Nicole packed for the honeymoon. CassRex asked what was wrong when she packed pyjamas instead of a negligeé. She burst into tears and accused him of seeing another woman.

Victoria told John she would never forgive him for hurting her father. He pointed out she was hurting her mother. She walked off.

Ada didn't want Rachel to invite Vince and Cheryl to Thanksgiving dinner. She said that Cheryl would be with Julie Ann and was unable to explain Vince's absence. So invite Vince. Rachel went to phone around about Amanda. Enter Mary to pick up St Elmo's turkeys for the homeless. Ada tried to get rid of her. Vince emerged from the kitchen.

Cass taunted Monique. He dared her to prove Rex loved her. She asked what he was up to.

Rex played innocent. Nicole said it was OK. She said she'd seen a woman in the corridor drenched in suspicious perfume. He claimed she was a saleswoman from the jewelry store dropping off the wedding bands, and if she smelled suspicious it was because the perfume had spilled on the scarf — both presents for Nicole — had infected the whole suite. Nicole softened. She told Rex he could discreetly see other women in the next three months, as long as he was honest with her about it. He kissed her confusion away. She wafted out to chat with Donna. He phoned Monique to forbid her to lurk in his corridor unless disguised.

Cass told Monique it was a bad sign that Rex hadn't told Nicole she was his girl. He advised her to investigate Nicole's suitcase. If it contains hiking boots, the honeymoon is strictly business, if it contains negligeés [or no nightwear at all] she anticipates something more. Rex need never know. Monique let herself out. The second number is 7.

Vince and Mary recalled last Thanksgiving. She claimed to be busy this year. Vince doesn't feel like celebrating. He won't be at Cass and Nicole's wedding.

Victoria [whose hair had been down in Mary's Place, but she has since put it up, presumably because Lisa had revealed that Jamie liked her [Lisa's] hair up although she preferred it down] arrived at the romance just ahead of Jamie. Jamie admired Vicky's hair. He advised her to go to Nicole's wedding and support Donna a little. She agreed to go when he said he and Lisa would be there.

Vince assembled paper turkeys. Ada [who had not told him that Mary was going to be at St Elmo's] told him she had to be in two places at once. He offered to do the St Elmo's run. Rachel saw through Ada. She couldn't find Amanda. She headed for Brava.

Nicole told Donna she was convinced Cass wasn't having an affair. She glowed and spoke Cass' name lovingly. Donna warned her not to get carried away. Nicole is deluded.

Monique disguised herself as an ugly blonde chambermaid and looked at Nicole's suitcase.

Lisas second soufflé turned out beautifully. Adam admired Victoria's hair. He apologized for standing her up and offered to make it up to her. She hastened to assure him he didn't have to and only accepted when Jamie and Lisa counted themselves in. Enter John to see Adam. Jamie hustled Lisa and Vicky out. Rafferty is a bad vet with a network of Vietnam veterans he has under his spell. John said he'd think about helping and left by the back way. He saw something on the Love estate and took off after it.

Vince and Mary were surprised to see each other.

Rachel did not find Amanda at Sam's loft or the Romance.

Nicole hopes for more than convenient. She let herself into the room with Donna and fell over Monique trying to make her escape. They struggled.
