ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

November 23, 1987

Amanda feels there's something cosmic about her relationship with Sam. He asked why they'd waited so long. [Because it takes a month for the Pill to pull itself together? We can't have condoms in a loving relationship, after all.]

Cassimpostor got more specific about time and place.

I don't like Monique's suit. For one thing it's glittery. For another it does nothing for her figure. Anyway, she taunted Cassreal about his engagement and aimed a gun at him when he made threatening motions. The impostor's name is Rex Allingham. He and Cass caused the deaths of each other's wife, only of course Rex is confused. Monique will hear nothing against Rex. Cass tried to foster doubts in her mind with talk of propinquity. Rex and Nicole. How could any man resist Nicole, or any woman a man who looks like Cass? Cass warned Monique that Rex would pay for killing Kathleen. Unobserved, he picked up the compact she'd dropped.

Nicole is credulous. That Old Carrot cut in and danced with her. He warned her that she wasn't fooling anyone. She looked him in the eye and said she was marrying Cass because she loved him. He said he'd see her in court. Exit Carrot. Cass, I mean Rex, resumed dancing with his intended. He told her soon she wouldn't have to worry about her father because she'd have a husband to protect her. Oh, please. She clung to him.

Sam and Amanda undressed each other and sank to the floor.

Mac gave Rex and Nicole a gift from Rachel. Nicole told Rex it didn't seem right to accept gifts under false pretenses. Rex assured her they'd give them back unopened when they split up. Donna took Nicole to task for being about to tell Michael she [Donna] was pregnant.

Cass pointed out to Monique that Nicole was very like Rex' dead wife, and she was not. Monique told him to shut up. He flung a shoe and broke the surveillance camera. She shrugged and said it didn't matter because Rex had observed him and adopted all of his mannerisms already. Then she punched in the security code and left. Cass commenced fiddling with the tiny window behind him and discovered he was only a few blocks from Tops.

Amanda heard a noise. She and Sam scrambled up. She hid. Sam bribed a bellhop to get rid of the guests he had in tow.

Scott and Dawn did not express themselves very well. Donna told Nicole she would tell Michael when she felt it was the right time. Nicole was horrified lest she was thinking of having an abortion. Donna was horrified that she would think such a thing. Rex saw Monique come up and approached the bar.

Cass arranged Monique's compact so that the mirror would reflect the security code when Monique keyed it in and dismantled the camera to use the lenses to magnify Tops.

Monique demanded that Rex tell her when he was going to kill Nicole. He rushed her out. Dawn told Scott she loved him. They embraced. Donna and Nicole made-up. Felicia missed Cass. He's needed for photographs. Nicole went to look for him.

Rex yelled at Monique. She clung to him and said she hated being alone with Cass. He took out his coloured contacts. She said she missed his blue eyes. He broke away from her kiss. He was glad to hear Cass was suffering. He refused to listen when she mentioned that Cass said he was confused about his wife's death. Cass is supposed to have seduced and rejected this innocent wife, and having been made distraught, then, she drove recklessly to her death. Ergo, Cass done killed her, and he will pay. He will rot in jail for the murder of Nicole. Monique begged him to take her to bed. He said it was trop dangereux. He sent her back to Cass. He also requested she change her awkward perfume — too many people have noticed it. He checked to see the coast was clear and let her out. Then he reinserted his contacts.

When Felicia and Nicole passed Monique in the hall, Nicole detected the perfume on her. When Rex emerged Nicole looked at him funny and fled.

Amanda and Sam [dressed] strolled back to the gallery to look in the window. He told her this had been the best day of his life. She said she wanted him to trust her. A man played saxophone.

Scott and Dawn toasted their future. Nicole toyed with a lovebird. Rex caught up with her and asked what was bothering her. She insisted it was nothing.

Sam took Amanda back to the hotel room, which he had had done up with candles and roses. He swung her up into his arms and carried her to the bed.

Cass saw the back of Rex' head kissing Nicole and wished he would turn around so he could see his face. [The angle was quite impossible — sort of above and to the side. How can anything be higher than the so-high Love Tower?]

Sam and Amanda's clothes lay in a heap on the floor. He mentioned the cost of the hotel room. She said he'd hate her if she were rich. He said she wasn't so why worry about it? She asked him to hold her.

Rex followed Nicole out on the terrace. She looked uncomfortable. Cass observed the gang in Tops and wept over his dear McKinnons. He looked for Rex but had to replace the window when Monique returned. She assured him that he was going to be allowed to live so he can serve the time for Nicole's murder while she and Rex skip town. Her head blocked out most of the security code as she left, but he got the first number — 4.
