Amanda thought it was wonderful when she saw Felicia interviewing Loretta. Sam and Mitch were less thrilled.
Mary found Jason drinking in the farmhouse. John came by to help fix up the house, which has not yet recovered from the explosion.
Jamie was a pig. He came home and sniped at Lisa about the fact that she doesn't sit at home all day and all night waiting to cater to his every whim if he should take time out of his busy schedule to have one. She suggested he get some sleep. He said they should talk. Adam phoned to talk about André. Jamie said he wanted to talk about André too. When Lisa got off the phone, having agreed to help Adam later, Jamie sniped at her a little more. Lisa got fed up and informed Jamie that André had held her at gunpoint. Jamie was instantly contrite but told her that Vicky had told him she'd kissed him. She calmed him down although I'm not sure she actually convinced him he was being a jerk. Kissing.
Ada convinced Rachel that cute carrots were not the way to go for the reception. She asked about Loretta. Rachel said she was eccentric and Sam's aversion to her was probably the usual filial response to flamboyance. Ada advised her to stay out of it. Rachel's determined to make Matthew come to the wedding. Ada was surprised. Matthew usually gets his own way.
Jason wandered off and left John and Mary to chat about things in general. Mary left eventually and John got to work.
Loretta mentioned that a deal with Darryl Zanuck had fallen through because she had become pregnant. Felicia's show ran out of time but Felicia promised Loretta would be back. She thanked her profusely. Amanda couldn't understand why Sam wasn't thrilled. Loretta came over and suggested she and Amanda go shopping. Sam put his foot down. Amanda left with Loretta, having accused Sam of acting like a jerk.
Jason was glad that Mary had left because he doesn't want her to remember too much. It would only open up things that are better left alone. He was a little cryptic. He said things about families being important. John looked thoughtful. Jason went out.
Jamie and Lisa continued kissing. Adam dropped by. Jamie made no effort to conceal his extreme displeasure. He grabbed his jacket and stomped out. Adam suffered remorse. Lisa forgave him. Adam asked Lisa to make sure the press didn't get hold of the fact that That Old Carrot had killed his wife. If the case never gets to trial, i.e. if That Old Carrot dies, Nicole need never know. Lisa lit up when Adam said the captain thought she had a future in undercover work. [Sure he does.] Adam reminded her that Jamie might be an obstacle.
Felicia told Mitch what she knew about Donna. He asked about her taping. She started talking about Loretta. She asked if he was acting strangely because of his mother. Lisa told Adam that it was none of Jamie's business what jobs she wanted to take. He wouldn't expect her permission. Adam said he would be concerned about the woman he loved being in danger undercover. Lisa pointed out that MJ had been a cop. Adam said she would have given it up after they were married. Lisa and I had pretty much the same reaction. [I think it's an out and out lie. I don't recall MJ ever promising to give up police work after marriage, do I? Actually I might, but I'm sure Adam didn't encourage it at all. And why should it make any difference after they're married? He coped remarkably well while they were just dating.] She yelled at him for being a sexist pig. He asked if she would use psychic stuff to find André.
Scott is still waiting for a verdict in Dawn's case. He told Jason Mary wasn't around. Jason found Jamie sulking at the bar. Jamie's not sure living with Lisa is working. Jason suggested he move in with him at the farm. Rachel came in and was horrified to hear Jason trying to lure her baby away. She advised him to work out his problems with Lisa.
Adam was unwillingly impressed by Lisa's fortitude. He said he didn't think he would stand in her way if he were Jamie. She's too good to lose.
Mitch told Felicia his mother hadn't raised him — they just kind of lived in the same house. Felicia probed. He left home at 13. He finally told her Loretta Kirkland was his mother. She was stunned. He doesn't know if her stories are true.
Loretta and Amanda returned to the Romance. Loretta gave Rachel a gift. Sam was kind of annoyed when he walked in.
Jamie invited Scott to a bachelor party for Sam to be held in their apartment. He phoned Lisa and was pleased to hear she'd be working Friday evening. He did not explain why. Adam assured Lisa she wouldn't have to work weekends. Lisa didn't seem pleased. Adam left.
Jamie appropriated the bar phone in order to issue more invitations.
Lisa brooded. She thought about arguing with Jamie. She phoned Julie Ann and suggested they throw a bridal shower in her apartment Friday.
Jason accosted Mary in Mary's Place. They apologized to each other and shook hands. He carried his belongings out. Ada stumbled across an abstracted Mary. Mary said it wasn't easy getting her memory back.
Jason returned to the farm and told John Mary was an all right broad. John left to talk to Michael.
Rachel admired her gift. Sam [sotto voce] demanded to see the sales receipt. Loretta told him not to start with her. Sam fumed.
