In the middle of the wedding preparations Donna noticed that Marley seemed distraite and not entirely happy. Marley told her it was pre-wedding jitters. Donna was concerned. Marley assured her she was very happy to be marrying Jake.
Scott delivered his mother's letter to Vince.
Reginald attempted to distract Marissa when she mentioned phoning Vince.
Mitch stayed over at Felicia's. He said something to infuriate her and she tried to throw him out. They met Rachel in the doorway. Rachel freaked out. Felicia called her in to talk about it. Mac has gone to fetch Matthew and they will be back by 11:00 AM. Mitch rushed off to pretty himself up a little. Rachel is afraid Mitch will take Matthew from her. Felicia told her she thought he was sincere. Rachel still thinks he's come back on purpose to annoy her.
Marley rushed off. Michael assured Donna Marley was fine. He apologised to Peter for having attacked him. Peter very generously forgave him. Marley spoke to Jake on the phone and said she didn't know if she could go through with this.
Mary wants to clear things up in Bay City before leaving. She was about to phone Vince when Peter rang to tell Reginald Marley was behaving oddly and with the right kind of pressure the bride could crack. Reginald said he'd be at the wedding rehearsal. He got Gomez to track down Mitch for an emergency.
Felicia left Mitch and Rachel alone together. Rachel told Mitch she thought he was going to try to turn her son against her. He denied it. Rachel is desperately neurotic. Gomez called with the emergency.
Mac and Matthew arrived home. Matthew was very interested in the concept of Mitch. Mac divulged nothing.
Donna cornered Marley about her phone call. She's worried because Marley is behaving so oddly. Michael rushed them off to the wedding rehearsal. Brittany stayed behind. Peter reminded her of their wedding and how happy he been to be making an honest woman of her. She was bored. He told her he'd never let anyone hurt him the way she had.
Ada read the letter to Vince. She took Marissa's side. Vince said the handwriting was familiar somehow. Jake appeared and said Vince's car wouldn't start. Scott offered to give them a ride. Ada wouldn't let anyone refuse. Vince said he wasn't going to phone Marissa.
Marissa had to go to iron out a problem about her passport. Reginald and Peter fussed. Reginald blames Michael for the world caving in. Mitch arrived to say he wouldn't emerge today. Reginald threatened to rejail him and gave him a speech to read.
The wedding rehearsal got going. Since there are McKinnons involved, there are stand-ins for the bride and groom. The lucky chillun are Cheryl and Scott. Jake and Marley sat in the back row and observed. Cheryl and Scott were rather self-conscious and not much good as examples for the bride and groom who just sat there brooding on how pointless life is anyway.
Mitch phoned Marissa pretending to be Vince. He told her no one wanted her in Bay City because her husband was such a scuzz. He hated doing it.
Felicia attempted to reason with Rachel. Rachel asked why Mitch was looking after her [Felicia] and pretending to care.
Mac told Matthew that Jamie had gone to Med school, dropped out to dabble in writing, and returned to Med school to get a real world job as a doctor. (OH. I am livid. I especially hate this recurring theme of "it's not a real job if it isn't in medicine".) Matthew told Mac he [Mac] was his Real Dad.
Nothing would induce the groom to kiss the bride. The heartless McKinnons laughed at them, except Vince, who found nothing amusing. Jake ducked out. Scott made a speech about his lovely mother and told everyone smacking her head hurt her. Reginald appeared and cornered Marley alone. He told her the McKinnon hatred of the Loves would eventually poison her lovely relationship with that fine young man Jake. He told her Jake would come to hate her. She refused to believe it. He suggested they delay the wedding for a week. Jake appeared and said they were getting married today.
Although Vince had been moved by Scott's pretty little speech Scott's good work was undone when Vince returned and found a nasty mean message from Mary. He phoned her in spite of Peter's protests. Her voice sounded familiar to him. He told her where to get off and hung up.
Mary was so upset that she declared her intention to leave Bay City as soon as possible.
The Corys pled with Felicia to give up the exposé. She refused. Mitch worked around the Cory mansion. He asked for Matthew. Rachel went to fetch him.
Kathleen fussed because she didn't know where Cass was. Cheryl returned to Mary's Place having seen the statue of her mother. (No recognition.)
Reginald praised Gomez for her skill in leaving messages in Marissa's name. He said Jake got on his nerves. They are accompanied by a pair of blonde legs in a chair attached to an orange spangly dress and a whacking great ring. How too sinister.
Marley and Jake said goodbye to Michael and attempted to sneak out the back way. Donna caught them.
Mac went to help Rachel look. Matthew wandered in and found Mitch at work. "Who are you?" he said, innocent and trusting-like.
