Dee and Jake get along swell on the phone. He told Marley he had to see her today. He was cruelly interrupted by that fisheries man resigning in a news bulletin.
Carl stared at Nancy's pendant and made himself agreeable.
Felicia sobbed and said NO believing it to be torture. Edouard assured her he was what he seemed to be. Edouard returned. For her. She took fits and said he wasn't and begged for the truth. He said he was Edouard. She was overcome. He explained he'd left her to protect her because he was involved in some unspecified danger. She cried and cried and hiccoughed. She realized he'd planned this with Michaud.
Nancy was mildly nervous. Carl asked if he could do anything for her. She said not. He mentioned her wearing Perry's ring. They agreed she'd always love him. He'd like to be closer to her except for the big Three. She said she'd put the past behind her. She doesn't want to upset the big Three so she left.
Marley told Dee she wished Jake would leave her alone. Dee advised her to stop thinking and follow her heart. Marley told her about Jake knowing Victoria before. Dee said she was too cerebral.
Cass asked Michaud what had become of Felicia. Michaud was evasive. Cass was insistent. Michaud promised to tell him all in two days. Cass said he knew about Edouard. Michaud said Felicia was fine and she had to deal with it alone. Cass said he'd tell him everything including Daphne in two days. Exit Cass. Michaud mentioned Daphne and greed in the same breath.
Carl told Daphne Nancy never wanted to see him again. He seemed to think this a good sign. Daphne was perplexed. He's happy because of the pendant. He wants to celebrate with trout. He called the Egyptian. They're thrilled [Daphne screamed in delight]. They'll be rich.
Edouard took Felicia to the Spanish room. She was thrilled. There's so much to absorb. She wants to hold him.
Carl made Daphne call Nancy to apologize for not showing up. She got Chris and left a message saying she'd had a flat tire.
Nancy returned home. Chris asked why she'd lied. He told her about Daphne's call. She apologized and said Daphne was all right. Chris yelled at her and told her to stay away from Daphne.
Carl: DON'T tell me. What do you mean there is no trout? Daphne: the kitchen said the only trout available is frozen. Carl: will you tell your bloody kitchen to break out their fishing poles and hop to it because tonight is a night for TROUT. Daphne laughed and laughed and said he was quite exciting like this. He suggested they stop the teasing but the Egyptian called. Carl told him to come over right away.
Victoria found Jake in Smiley's. He was recalcitrant. They bickered inamicably. She told him he looked at Marley the way he'd looked at her. These days she sits around waiting for the phone to ring. He said she'd see him later. She'll be waiting.
Nancy raved about Daphne's great legend and the Egyptian things. Ada told her to think about Chris for a change and give up Daphne. Left alone Nancy did not seem so inclined.
Victoria snapped at Maisie and left. Wallingford refused pie because he is worried about Felicia. Cass told Kathleen all he knew over the phone. He and Wallingford worried together. Wally suddenly thought of ZANEOHBROTHER.
Edouard and Felicia said some stupid things. She says he's different now. He produced a picnic like those they used to have in their room. She came unhinged because she'd been manipulated. She said none of this was really good enough to make up for it. She took fits. He consoled her. She wept on his shoulder and hit him. She calmed down and apologized. He did his best to be understanding. She said she had to be by herself to think. He said he'd love her the rest of his life.
Victoria waited by the phone at home. Bridget tried to buck her up. Vic called Marley. They spoke to each other in clipped voices. Vic rubbed into her that Jake was proud and penniless and she REELY REELY [sic] appreciated Marley giving him back to her because she loved him. She told her not to be a stranger and rang off.
Nancy tracked Chris down and apologized for behaving the way she did. She assured him she wouldn't get involved anymore. She kissed his cheek and left.
Carl and Daphne giggled a lot. Carl suspects Frederick of setting it up so that the ring and pendant were not enough. Daphne went to get dessert and brandy. Carl alone spoke of having enough money to buy Rachel.
Marley didn't answer Dee's alarmed questions and made for the door. She found Jake preparing to knock. He walked in purposefully and said he'd come for an answer.
