The sheriff showed a nurse a photograph of Cass and stationed a deputy in the hospital. Cass crept in.
Sally read a story to an Indian child to pass the time. Exit child. Sally told Daniel she wasn't sleeping well and she wanted to see Catlin and Kevin now.
Catlin went to the Cory stables to help Britt practice. She emerged from a stall with a gun pointed at him. She commanded him to drop his pants.
Marley [who is pale and unwell-looking] looked at Jake.
Sally isn't having a fun time. Daniel is making her sound selfish and childish. She wants Kevin. Daniel thinks she should keep on with Lesoleil and have family and career. The boy returned and Sally went to read to him and his brother. Daniel looked at Sally's photograph of Catlin and Kevin and brooded.
Catlin told Brittany she'd have to kill him before he'd take off his pants. She gave up and started chatting about rodeo stuff. He told her he didn't have time to do anything but coach her. She wants to shoot a cigarette out of his mouth. He refused. She said "well, if you're SCARED." He demanded the cigarette. It was not pretty. I cherished a secret hope that she'd blow his face off but no such luck. She told him he had to admit she was a dangerous woman.
Cass got dolled up in a doctor's surgery kit [mask etc] and carried a bed sheet over the hand with the handcuffs. Deputy Dawson attacked him for advice about a finger he'd smashed in a car door. Cass advised him to soak it to avert gangrene. The deputy fled in search of a basin. A pair of orderlies walked past discussing how much they hated stripping the bed of a dead person. Cass went into Kathleen's room and FOUND IT STRIPPED.
Jake dived for the gun attached to the horse. Carl struggled with him. The gun was dropped; Marley picked it up and trained it on Carl who backed away.
A nurse discovered Cass and told him Kathleen had gone back to Bay City in Mac's plane. The nurse grew suspicious. Cass fled. The nurse conferred with the deputy in a "who was that masked man?" sort of way.
Britt said things about soft hay which caused Catlin to say "you better not be coming on to me." she said "well, you may have changed your name but you sure haven't changed your ego." Catlin mimicked her "oh, let's do it in here, in the hay, where it's nice and soft." She told him he had a dirty mind. And it was All in Good Fun. Ha. Britt said bitchy things about Sally not calling.
Carl backed up to the top of the ridge trying to talk sense to Marley. He asked what Perry would say. She pulled the trigger. He fell. Marley fell into Jake's arms and sobbed. He watered her. She ran up to see where Carl was. He was nowhere in sight. Jake took her to the horse and told her he'd take her to water. Marley said Carl was dead in a queer voice.
Daniel chatted to Sally out on location. She wants to be alone. He asked if she wanted to call it a day [sounding like he figured she'd spend the time living it up with him] and she asked very sweetly if they could break until the next afternoon. He agreed. She ran off "I've got places to go, people to see." when she got to her trailer Cass was there. He asked her to help him. She was worried but agreed to get him a rental car from the shoot so he could see Kathleen when he mentioned Majorca. The sheriff came to the door.
"Give me land lots of land and the starry skies above BOING don't fence me in." suddenly Nancy and Chris stopped singing as Jake and Marley rode up to them. [JAKE ON A HORSE. The crowd took off his top hat and cheered.] Jake thinks his shoulder is broken [that MAN]. They were helped down and Marley was watered some more and Jake was bound up in a sling. Marley told of her ordeal and Carl's little chats with Perry. Jake should go to the hospital. Nancy found the Princess in Carl's horse's pack.
Catlin and Britt had a good time riding. Afterwards he insulted her good-naturedly and told her she was too tense to do rolls [or jumps or something]. This inevitably led to massaging her shoulders. She accused him of coming on to her. He said he had to go. She asked him to stay to practice shooting. He said she'd shot the cigarette fine. She said it was beginner's luck and he said "beginner's luck? With MY FACE?" she laughed at him. She told him he had to see her costume as a Man because his opinion was important. He gave in. She said he wouldn't be sorry and went to change. He said "I wonder."
Sally stored Cass in a closet and let the sheriff in. He warned her it would be a crime to help Cass get out of town and he'd put her in jail. She showed him out. She set Cass free. He apologized for getting her involved. She gave him car keys. He thanked her profusely. Embrace. Cass opened the door to find Daniel on his way in.
Nancy and Marley agreed that Jake and Marley belonged together. They got on their horse and left. [JAKE ON A HORSE. "That boy is a perfect Cyclops, isn't he?" said Amy.] Chris and Nancy set out for the cave.
Daniel: what are you doing here? Cass: oh, nothing much, come on in. Daniel: the sheriff's car is parked outside. Cass: I KNOW. [And isn't it just too bad?] I TOLD him people are starting to talk. Cass told Daniel he didn't think it was any of his business. Daniel said if it involved Sally it was his business. Sally prevented Cass from murdering Daniel. Daniel went out to see if the coast was clear. Cass suspected him of wanting to turn him in and warned Sally not to get involved with him. [Bravo Cass.] Daniel returned to say the sheriff had gone and tell Cass not to break the speed limit. He said to tell Kathleen they were praying for her. Exit Cass. Sally's determined to go home. Daniel said he'd be waiting for her.
Caitlin got fed up waiting and told Britt he was leaving. She came dashing out in silver spandex pants. Catlin fell silent.
Daniel told Sally he thought she was attracted to him. She said her being married did not preclude attraction to other men, just prevented her surrendering to said attraction. To her the commitment of marriage is sacred. [So wouldn't it be too galling to return and sleep with Daniel for revenge? I mean he'd wonder what brought about the change, right? Or to have to admit that he'd been right all along about Catlin. Too, too sick-making.] Daniel said he hoped Catlin deserved her. Sally lifted her chin and said he did. She left to be with Catlin and Kevin.
Arizona riding music. REALLY FUN. I forget who was riding, probably Chris & Nancy considering Jake & Marley are in no fit state to sound like that music.
Cass on a plane chatted with a priest on the plane about his Catholic girlfriend asking if it were permissible to marry in hospital. He requested his prayers for Kathleen. NOT THAT SHE'S SERIOUSLY ILL. She has to make it.
