The judge told the jury to rule on the evidence, not on the outbursts. He reminded them that the burden of proof was on Peggy. The jury was taken out.
Mitch inspected Felicia's ankle. He helped her into bed.
Scott and Cheryl discussed plans. Cheryl pointed out that MJ wouldn't be back for hours.
Adam told MJ he loved her some more. She said she didn't know what to say. He said she could tell him how she felt about him. She said she'd been afraid when she'd heard him telling Jamie he loved some her that he was in love with some other girl she didn't know anything about, but she had kind of wondered if it couldn't be her. He was surprised she had entertained these thoughts of another woman. She told him he didn't know everything about her. He said he loved her. She said no man had ever told her he loved her before.
Cheryl thinks it's very un-MJ to be so protective of the reputation of prostitutes. A woman phoned looking for MJ. Cheryl told her she'd gone to the Northwoods Inn. The woman said to say Linda had called.
Felicia's ankle is not great. Mitch proclaimed it swollen and sent for ice and champagne as Rachel appeared. Since Mitch had leaned across Felicia on the bed to get the phone Rachel felt compelled to comment on the situation's resemblance to a French farce. Rachel said she'd come to apologize. Mitch explained what had happened. Rachel and Felicia made up. Rachel admitted she was jealous. Felicia said she was too.
Mac waited for Rachel. He was civil to Mitch. He spotted Rose and insisted she joined him and Rachel. They chatted to Michael for a minute before going to a table. Mary appeared to ask Michael if he'd found out anything about Mary's Place. He told her he'd offered a lot of money to buy the building but he'd been refused.
Brittany's scared. She has a lot to lose. Catlin comforted her. Bridget cruised by with the baby. A guard broke up the party. Brittany was terribly distressed.
Rachel and Felicia had a talk. Rachel said she was going to talk to Mac. When she went out Mac was telling Rose how much their friendship meant to him. Rachel was extremely reasonable for a change.
Adam was thrilled to be The First. Mitch called him away to the phone and directed MJ to Linda at the bar. MJ got upset. Mary rushed up and asked what was wrong. MJ refused all offers of assistance and bearded Linda at the bar. Linda told her He had been in Europe but now He wanted to see her in Chicago at the same address. Adam reappeared. MJ introduced Linda is an old family acquaintance and rushed him back to the table. She told him she wanted to go home. He was willing.
Scott refused to discuss Vince's guilt or innocence.
Michael told Mary nothing could be done for Mary's Place. He asked her not to spend Christmas with Reginald because of a Plan he had.
Rose spotted Sara working and left Mac and Rachel alone. Sara told her Catlin was nice. Rose is rather a pain. She bugged her about Joe. [is there something about Joe? Say, Captain Delaney is a Joe. So was Catlin's friend from the Academy -- poor little bug on the wall Joe.]
Quinn ran into Zack at the Northwoods Inn and let him buy her a drink.
Mitch provided Felicia with aspirin.
Adam and MJ sat in the car. Adam: So. Here we are. MJ: here we are. [Do you like my hat?] He asked if she had always wanted to be a cop. She said she hadn't. He said he had even though it had worried his mother. She was afraid he wouldn't meet a nice girl. He laughed and said he wanted to see how she reacted to the fact that his nice girl was also a cop. [MJ looked a little taken aback at being described as a nice girl.] She asked if he was going to tell his mother about her. He said he wanted to be able to tell her how the nice girl felt about him. She told him he was the finest person she knew -- excepting her immediate family -- and she couldn't understand why a person like him would love someone like her. He said it was because she cared about people so much, and went on to describe various attractive physical attributes [eyes, skin, hair]. She told him she was thrilled that he loved her and fled, saying she couldn't do anything until she'd done Something.
Scott combed the neighborhood for Vince's alibi. Cheryl told him Victoria was more sophisticated than she was. He said he preferred her. MJ burst in and yelled at them for being in Cheryl's bedroom. Scott fled. MJ told her that Adam had told her he loved her. She said she hadn't told him she loved him because love could lead to a lot of mistakes. Be careful.
Felicia had a hard time sleeping, straining to hear Mitch noises through the wall.
Mitch dreamed of being married to Rachel and in bed.
Rachel tried to wake Mac up to talk about something important but he was dead to the world.
Brittany dreamed of Catlin coming into her cell to tell her she was free.
MJ left a note for Cheryl and left "to set things right."
