Catlin made a futile attempt to leave the hotel room again. He got no further than the door this time.
Larry and Alice know as far as the plane but no further. Alice doesn't know why Sally doesn't call.
Cecile explained that she is sort of working for these people but not really illegally, just to save her life.
Quinn wants to know why Grant and Lily broke up. She's uncomfortable about going out with him. Lily didn't tell her.
Felicia has discovered about Kathleen didn't pay Winthrop taxes and the money to do so is not there. She's asked Jamie for a cash advance in the neighborhood of $75,000. He agreed as long as she promises not to miss any more deadlines and come up with six chapters of her next novel Embers In The Snow. "Wallingford, darling, can you type?" Felicia's plaintive cry.
Cass is yelling at Cecile about her not telling him she loved him. DUCK yelled Cass. DUCK NOW. They disappeared under the table momentarily. Cecile wants to know who Kathleen is. But more than that she wants to go back to Bay City. She's perfectly willing to leave Kathleen but Cass isn't. She says Kathleen is probably at Frank Wells' ranch. Cecile was thrilled to hear Catlin's alive. Cecile agreed reluctantly to help save Kathleen.
Kathleen is being asked questions by Frank. She has a passport. She claims her name is Cassandra Winthrop, stewardess, with a flight to catch. She says if she doesn't make the flight she'll lose her job and if she loses her job shell never get back to KANSAS (shades of the Wizard of Oz, nicht wahr?) and they'll have to reschedule her mother's operation (my, what an inventive mind the girl has!)
Quinn asked Grant why he and Lily broke up. He told her the truth. Quinn told him she did it for Thomasina but Grant says he can't accept it. (Prostitution.)
Fate is on Kathleens side. The personnel office of the airline was closed so Frank couldn't check her story. He says maybe she should be allowed to return to Palma. Kathleen: Yes, that would be much better. And I know my mother will say a prayer for you as soon as she gets her new kidney. He offered her a ride back to Palma but she was uneager. She'd rather walk. Ross called her Miss McKinnon from Bay City. She was detained.
Cass and Cecile returned to the hotel. Catlin is desperate to get to Sally. Cecile is holding him up as a paragon of a man in love for Cass benefit. Cass ignored that. Cecile is going to talk to Felipe [our officer in the hall who thwarted Catlin] to see if he'll let Catlin go. They want reinforcements from the police. Felipe said he'd take them to the ranch. Cecile described a room to them where Sally might be. (She sounds right.) Cecile is staying at the hotel while they go.
The McKinnons reserved a table for Ben and Marley at Tallboys and gave him money and let him borrow MJ's car and boy is he thrilled.
Felicia is preparing to write her book. Wallingford's offering helpful suggestions. Felicia's CLEANING like mad. Lily came over to work on the show and was pressed into service. She can type like mad. Now all we need is a plot.
Ben and Marley are at Tallboys.
Our intrepid heroes asked to be allowed to see the room Cecile described to them. Frank was hospitable. Catlin insisted Sally is there. Felipe said they have to leave (he's a friend of Frank's). Cass got Catlin to leave (yelling "Sally" every step of the way).
It's late at night. Wallingford's sleeping. They've only got five pages. Felicia is blocked. She's starting up again. "Edward Marlowe was the kind of man every woman could desire. He was handsome ..." "And black" said Lily. "And short" chimed in Wallingford.
Felipe explained the respectability of Frank Wells. Catlin's angry. Cass is rational. Cecile's told them of a costume ball that's going to take place tomorrow. Catlin went to his room (voluntarily for a change). He says he's going back there tomorrow no matter what. Cecile is extolling his passionate nature to Cass. He insisted she go to the party. Cecile asked (casually) after Peter and Emily. Cass in his turn is worried about Kathleen.
