Adam thought about the time he'd kissed Lisa. He sighed. Rachel came in to talk about Jamie and Lisa. She asked if he had anything to do with their breaking up.
Jason found Lisa pacing up and down in a red dress in his kitchen. Jamie's late. Jason went to change for the hospice meeting.
Hearing Amanda's screams for help, Vicky burst in and felt for Sam's pulse. She phoned for an ambulance [they live at 39 Bainbridge St. on the southwest corner] and insisted on procuring Jamie. She gave Sam's name and her own. She loosened Sam's shirt. She was a pillar of strength for Amanda.
John ran into Mary in the hospital. He suggested that she might not want Frame Construction because she disliked Jason. She assured him that it was lack of experience that mattered here. She asked if he was making the presentation. He said he was just there to try to look competent and trustworthy. She scolded him for belittling himself.
Adam admitted that if Lisa gave him an opening, he'd take it, but she hadn't. [That sounds fairly obscene.] Rachel said Jamie was miserable. Adam said he was letting Vicky get away with too much and it was all his own fault. He assured her Lisa still loved Jamie.
Jamie arrived and looked grave when he saw Sam. Amanda was hysterical. Jamie plied his stethoscope and said Sam required CPR. Amanda insisted on helping, so while Jamie pressed on his chest she breathed into Sam's mouth. The paramedics arrived and shocked Sam before taking him away. Vicky tried to reach Mac or Rachel.
Jason told Lisa her dress looked like something Vicky might wear and if she'd dressed like that a couple of months ago she wouldn't be alone now. She told him she and Jamie loved each other and he and Vicky couldn't change that. He asked where Jamie was, in that case.
When Vicky went back to her apartment she couldn't find Mikey. She became upset. Realizing she couldn't phone the police she phoned Jason and begged him to come secretly to help her. He obliged.
Lisa thought the "he" mentioned in Jason and Vicky's conversation must be Jamie. She looked chagrined. She paced furiously and tried to think up excuses for Jamie. She phoned the hospital and found out Jamie had left upon receiving a call from Vicky.
John waited in vain for Jason to turn up. Mary told him to make the pitch himself. John said he was too undiplomatic and he'd wait. Mary saw somebody else.
Ronnie tried to reassure Amanda before going into the operating room. Amanda wept unappealingly and uncontrollably.
Vicky explained to Jason how she had come to leave Mikey alone. He advised her to call the police. She told him she couldn't except as a last resort. Tracy and Matthew came in and asked what was up with Sam and Amanda. When told they left for the hospital.
When Adam was about to leave work Lisa walked in to use the computer. He told her she looked beautiful. She broke down. He said he hadn't meant it.
Rachel asked Amanda what had happened. She told her she didn't have to shoulder all the responsibility in the world and she'd help.
Vicky found Mikey's bunny and said Mikey wouldn't have gone anywhere without it. Jason was surprised to see her so moved. He went to look around.
Mary told John he had to go on because he was the last one left. He asked for a minute to collect himself. When the board members gave him a hard time he stomped out. Mary rushed after him and begged him to try again. He said it was no use because she had final say. She promised to abide by the board's decision.
Adam was concerned about Lisa. She told him she'd dressed up for Jamie and he'd stood her up for Vicky's emergency. Adam said Jamie was a grown up and he should know better. Lisa agreed he was a jerk and they were nice. She suggested they go out and be nice together.
Amanda mentioned the rocks through the window when Matthew and Tracy arrived. Jamie appeared and told Amanda he needed her to consent to surgery. The clot has dislodged. Both alternatives are dangerous. Jamie told Amanda Sam would die without surgery. Amanda didn't like the choice.
John's speech was brutally honest and moving. He dwelt a lot on the fact that most of his men were veterans. Mary followed him out. She was much moved. She said the one good thing about Jason was he had picked a good partner.
Jason suggested they ask Lisa to help. Vicky was so desperate she agreed.
Adam and Lisa went to his wicked bachelor pad so he could change. She looked at a Cory family photo and turned on the radio. Adam came out of the bathroom with his shirt unbuttoned. She suggested they dance. They lapsed into a kiss.
