ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

September 18, 1985

Donna said she'd give Jake a cheque if he'd leave Bay City forevermore.

Larry has a lead on Evan. Brittany's thrilled. [I'm ill.]

Daphne invited Nancy over to play tennis. Nancy said she'd call back. Chris told her Daphne was trouble.

Daphne bitched to Carl. They have until the end of October. Carl says all is going splendidly.

Jake asked why she'd pay him to leave town. She told him to look around his room. She accused him of being a gold digger. She wrote him a cheque for $25,000. Her final offer. She told him never to try to contact the girls again and left. He made smashing noises.

Larry is going to meet with the photographer who took the picture of "Evan at a parade" which subsequently appeared in a newspaper which Britt saw. He cautioned her not to get her hopes up.

Nancy and Chris argued. He thinks Daphne has an angle. Nancy scoffs. The hospital called and asked Chris to come on down. He asked her to mail his letter to Egypt and not to play tennis with Daphne. Nancy called Daphne.

Donna told Victoria the story of Jake and the Cheque. She has to cover it in her account lickety split. She dashed off. Victoria took fits.

The photographer [Harry Webber] was a little late. Brittany showed him the picture. It turns out he took the picture for friends of his called Kent from Indianapolis. Evan is their son Eddie. "Looks just like his daddy, doesn't he?" said Webber. [Not surprising. Everyone looks like Catlin according to Brittany. Of course it's not Evan but does that matter?]

Jake thought about yesterday with Marley "love can't be this selfish". He and Carter discussed Donna's weirdness. "Who does she think she is?" "who does she think I am?" Jake's not leaving. The cheque is on his bed. Jake thought Dee was going to be the godmother. He's going to wear a tie and he wanted to see her in her Sunday best. Tom broke it to him that Dee wasn't Marley was.

Webber waxed enthusiastic about Eddie. The Kents adopted him out West. [I'm really ill.] Brittany got excited. Webber got upset. The Kents are nothing without Eddie. He stomped out. Larry said they didn't need him.

Jake can't believe Marley's going through with it. Tom has faith in babies. And Jake is a good person who tries not to hurt anyone. She wants her son to be like him. Ego booster. She advised him to give Marley a lift tomorrow. "You are the godfather. Make her an offer she can't refuse."

Vic went to Jake's room and found the cheque.

Nancy commented on the lack of Egyptian things in the library. Daphne told her she'd loaned it to a museum. Nancy told her Chris had sent his Egyptian things back. Daphne told her they could have been worth an awful lot.

Larry wants Britt to tell Catlin. She won't until she has Evan. She told him to call the Kents.

Jake returned to his room. Victoria lit into him. She accused him of plotting to be paid to get rid of her. He tore up the cheque [being very sarcastic the whole while]. She was overwhelmed and forgave him because he loved her so much. She told him she wanted to make love. He's booked up for the next few days. He can't. She said again in an odd voice "you really love me."

Daphne told Nancy the story of the tomb. About a Princess who died on the eve of her wedding. Nancy was thrilled. She mentioned the man who wrote Chris from Egypt. Nancy left. Carl told Daphne Nancy had played right into their hands.

Victoria found out from Maisie that Marley was the godmother. She left Smiley's in a hurry. And went home. She gave Donna the torn up cheque from Jake. Donna got upset. Victoria said she could handle Jake herself but Donna was right to protect Marley. They agreed.

Nancy ran into Matthew and picked him up. Brittany appeared in the background and thought about having Evan again and playing with him. She took Matthew from Nancy and took him back to the stables. Nancy told Chris she'd forgotten to mail his letter and gone to Daphne's. She asked him to reconsider mailing the letter.

Carl is not perturbed. This Egyptian man works for him and will contrive to get Nancy to talk about the pendant. He laughed.
