ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

February 18, 1985

Willa's death has been ruled a definite OD. Therefore the case is closed. Therefore Catlin is recop. Tamen, Catlin is not convinced. Sally told him to forget about it. They have a lot to do today. Practice getting married. Just you wait says Sally. It's going to be the most wonderful day.

Peter got a call from Cheyenne. Catlin, it seems, is a fugitive from justice. "On what charge? I see. It's unbelievable. Yes, this certainly changes things."

Jamie thinks Peter has good ideas but he's too high-handed. Mac'll talk to him. He's sure Rachel will be back in time for the wedding.

Rachel's in a panic. Carl is not dead. Strange breathing. "No," said Rachel. "Easy," said Carl. Except suddenly it seemed to have been a nightmare. Long silence. Rachel exploring? Weird music.

A package came for Jake. Marley's in to offer herself as an extra waitress. Maisie is disbelieving. When she finally figured it out she said she was sorry but she couldn't give her a job when there were poorer people in the world. Marley confided in her. She's going to think about it. She won't tell anyone what Marley told her. Marley left.

Sally has to go for a fitting. She left with Aunt Liz. Catlin pondered on Willa's fate.

Rachel breathing strangely. Talking to herself. Trying to escape and not panic. Not giving him the satisfaction of going off the deep end. He'd drugged her.

Peter told Mac he wants to get things done. He's to apologize to all those whose toes he stepped on. And if ever he decides to do anything to Felicia he's to consult Mac first.

Nancy looking for Perry found Jake. (Beats me how he manages it. First Marley looking for Ben. Now this.) She thought it was Perry's room. He seems to be fairly unclothed, having just been working out. He talked about showers for a bit. "Do you like showers, Nancy?" "Showers?" "Yeah, you know, hot streams of water shooting out at you?" "Yeah, sure I do, who wouldn't like showers?" (She sounds terribly nervous.) He thanked her for not telling about the medical records. She said she'd better go. "Why?" "So you can get DRESSED, Jake." He then seemed to get more and more clothed, asking at various stages, "Is this better?" Finally he said, "Wait 'til you see me with my socks and sneakers on." She said she should go. "Aw, you wouldn't leave me, would ya? Stranger in a strange town." "Yeah, I would. You see, I have to go see Perry, Jake." "Perry." "Yes. I'd better get next door before he sees me, you know what I mean?' "You mean he doesn't allow you to talk to other men?" "Course he does." "Then what's the problem?" "There's no problem. I -- I can do anything I want." "Good. I was starting to think you were one of those women who like to BELONG to someone." "I don't BELONG to anyone, Jake. It's just that Perry and I -- I wouldn't like to hurt his feelings." He invited her to drop by again sometime and drifted from there to his line about her eyes. She left.

Carl has arrived. Rachel is wearing a dress he provided. Considering eating the food he brought. But it's gazpacho. In FEBRUARY. She doesn't like that. She says since he went to all the trouble to kidnap her he might as well've taken the trouble to find out what she likes. She's very short with him. He says she WAS Mac's pride and joy but no longer. She pretty much told him to stuff it.

Aunt Liz is falling to bits. She's making the wedding dress herself and she's a nervous wreck. Sally's trying to stick her back together again.

Catlin and Mac and the reverend are awaiting Sally's arrival. Catlin sounds horribly upset that Sally's late. Wildly nervous. Panicked. The reverend is unperturbed. He and his friend Kevin (ring-bearer, natch) can practice with their rubber bands (pseudo-rings). Larry's there too.

Liz is crying and crying and crying. She wants the best for Catlin and Sally. The reverend came and knocked on the door.

Larry told Catlin that it is perfectly reasonable to be nervous and since he is it just goes to show that he's not as much of a knucklehead as he thought. We begin the ceremony.

Perry's happy to be Loveless. On his own. Running Smiley's. Nancy wants him to have fun. He thanked her for standing by him when he was a jerk. He told her she was beautiful with incredible eyes. She giggled girlishly and tried to get him to lay off listing their attributes.

Jake with a new camera. Marley arrived looking for Ben. Jake photographed her a bunch. He said she's beautiful. He's on about video. She left a note for Ben and dashed off. I think it's video equipment. Not still.

Positions everyone. The reverend outlining procedure. Lot of laughing. Catlin managed to kiss the bride. Applause. Aunt Liz crying. The minister wants to spend a few minutes alone with Catlin and Sally. Kevin lost the rubber bands. He's afraid it's bad luck.

Carl told Rachel she was his prisoner. She protested. She told him he was insane and therefore the prisoner. He said she'd weaken in time. She said time was on her side. He said she didn't know where they were. He talked and talked. She says they'll trace her. He says until they do he wants them to have lots and lots and lots of fun.

The minister said wise things about marriage. (Never once speaking of knives or milk, however.) He urged them to feel free to call on him. Catlin is fairly tongue-tied. Taciturn. The minister left. Sally said there was still time for Catlin to back out. He proclaimed himself a leech. ("Just you try to get rid of me," he said. I made the leech bit up.) Peter arrived to talk to Catlin. Looking serious.

The life and times of Rachel Davis as recounted by Carl: MITCH BLAKE. Tsk tsk tsk tsk. Oh, Rachel. Oh, Rachel, whatever got into you? (Rachel: Is that a rhetorical question?) Tell me -- was it a case of anything for love or was it one of those torrid, tropical things -- St. Croix, wasn't it? The VIRGIN islands? I love it. Now, the story, as I hear it -- you correct me if I'm wrong -- old Mitch was involved in a plot to murder old Mac. Good old Mac. So you went to old Mitch and you said, well, you wanted to prevent this. And you said you were willing to do whatever was necessary. That included killing him. But instead of that, you ended up -- SLEEPING with him. Now, of course, there are some who would say that it was a noble sacrifice. Others would say, well, that Mrs. Rachel Cory is not all that she pretends to be -- a little -- LOOSE, perhaps. But then of course you did go off and live with Mitch. So some could even say that you loved him. He then touched on the subject of Matthew being Mitch's son and Mac loving him as his own. She told him off good an' proper. He left her with her thoughts. He asked if she'd like to talk to Mac. She said quietly she would. He said it might be for the last time. He told her she'd get what she wanted as long as she did as she was told. He told her to say please and he'd dial after telling her what to say.

Peter suggested he and Catlin talk privately. Catlin said, "No. Anything you have to say to me Sally can hear." Did I hear Peter gnashing his teeth? Peter told him he'd checked and found that Catlin was wanted for smashing the sheriff of Dry Creek, a most unforgiving man.

Rachel talked to Mac. She told him she'd have to stay a little longer but she wouldn't miss Sally's wedding. She told him she loved him and missed him. Silence. Strange music.

SPEAKING HYPOTHETICALLY, of course. if one has got a man as mus' go away to be p'r'aps INCARCERATED (although he was in so long unjustly you'd think they could count that) one ought to marry him immejutly and cause Peter chagrin.
