Mitch kissed Felicia to keep her away from her gift. She's glad they made-up. Cass phoned.
Jamie's jaw dropped. He put Victoria down and tried to pretend he'd never touched her. He rushed off to make a phone call about a patient. Victoria brooded about his interest in said patient. Adam perceived [with no injury to his feelings] where her interests lay. Victoria looked rueful.
Amanda sobbed. Rachel very firmly told her to tell what was wrong. Enter Mac, unexpectedly. He was very sweet and concerned and offered to include her in everything. Amanda was pleased to hear they [Mac and Rachel]'d made-up. Amanda let him say they were all better off without Sam; he said it so tenderly, to make her feel better. Exit Mac. Amanda told Rachel they could talk when she got back from New York. Rachel would not be put off.
Adam teased Victoria about Jamie's attractive female patient who caused him to telephone and have no time for her. He also seemed to rub it in that Lisa was really working out for Jamie. She said love should always win out.
Felicia tried to put Cass off. She hung up. Mitch admitted he would have preferred not to read so many gory details in Kathleen's journal. He suggested they chat about the future. She said they should have a fabulous New Year's Eve party. He expressed a desire for something a little less rootless. A house. She was incredulous. Cass came knocking.
Scott brought Dawn flowers. She coughed appreciatively. Chad brought flowers. Dawn is anxious to get out. She insisted she would be fine. Scott left Chad and Dawn alone. Dawn seemed apprehensive. Chad expressed a lack of confidence in Jamie. Dawn coughed reassuringly. Chad steeled himself and asked if she'd known Bad People in New York. She said indignantly that they had not done drugs and, alarmed, wondered why Jamie wanted to know.
Cass offered to come back later. Felicia wouldn't hear of it. He told her about his investment in Nicole and invited her to commentate in Monte Carlo. Felicia glared at him. Mitch ran off to play with Matthew.
Victoria worried about Jamie's non-appearance. Adam ascertained that she was not busy for Christmas. He invited her to the policeman's Christmas party. Jamie appeared. Sam and Cheryl showed up, followed by several strangers. Victoria organized Cheryl.
Amanda told Rachel she and Sam hadn't been irresponsible but she was pregnant. [If failing the Pill [in such a manner] is not irresponsible, I don't know what is.]
Felicia told Cass about her fight and subsequent making up with Mitch. She said she and Mitch were different. Cass commiserated about the idea of a house but advised her that the right person could change her mind.
Everyone hid. Victoria called out to Lisa to come in. When she did everyone jumped up and surprised her. Lisa hugged Vicky briefly and spent the rest of her life in Jamie's arms. Vicky looked displeased.
Rachel said she thought Amanda had said she was using birth control. Amanda sobbed that she had but "something" had gone wrong. She said she loved Sam. Rachel comforted her and assured her she loved her. She asked if she was going to marry Sam. Amanda said she couldn't tell him when he hated her. Rachel said she didn't have to marry anyone and her family could take care of her and her baby. Amanda said she didn't know what she was going to do. She refused to blame Sam. Rachel was determined to.
Sam marveled when Cheryl obviously had no envy of rich people. Lisa and Jamie danced. Felicia and Cass arrived. When Lisa rushed to greet them, Vicky pounced on Jamie, who said he'd dance with her after he checked on the birthday girl. Adam noticed and poked Victoria. She dragged him off to dance. Lisa and Cass convinced Felicia to stay. The lights went down for cake's sake. They sang. Lisa wished and blew successfully. Jamie got beeped and ran to see to Dawn.
Dawn offered to sneak away with Scott. Chad griped about Jamie. A nurse wearing two pairs of rubber gloves came in to start Dawn's IV. Scott remarked on it and she explained she had a cut on her hand.
In the corridor, the nurse instructed a guy not to put up a compulsory sign without Jamie. Chad and Scott came out, Chad brimming over with suspicion.
Amanda stared at her dolls. Rachel brought her a mug of something. She suggested Mac should know. Rachel offered to tell. Amanda hesitated and agreed. Rachel said she should think about what she was going to tell Sam. Enter Julie Ann. Exit Rachel. Julie Ann told her Sam was going to be at Lisa's party. Amanda decided to go.
Jamie's rather sweet, now bespectacled, lab technician chatted with Lisa. She thanked him for spending the second night of Hanukkah at her party. Vicky watched them together and got her hopes up. Lisa came over and thanked her for the surprise. Adam agreed Vicky was a master of deceit.
Cass was excited about Monte Carlo. Felicia thought about the length of time away from Mitch. Mac asked Rachel to tell him what was wrong. Rachel assured him she was fine and insisted they dance. Cass and Felicia drank champagne and toasted France. Enter Mitch. He forbade Felicia to go without him.
Scott proclaimed himself ever-faithful. He found Chad pestering the nurses. Jamie arrived and went in to talk to Dawn.
Lisa missed Jamie. Vicky underlined the drawbacks of dating a busy doctor and threw her and Adam together, remarking to Nathan [the lab technician] what a lovely couple they made. Sam and Cheryl danced under the mistletoe. They kidded around a little. He kissed her in a friendly fashion as Amanda came in.
