ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 17, 1985

Felicia managed to pull herself together sufficiently to sign Liberace's book.

Miss Grimaldi is roaming about giving Cass a suite in a very good hotel. They're going to dinner at the 21 Club. Cass said he wouldn't do the 21 Club with someone he'd never seen and masterfully/dextrously removed her hat-cum-veil.

Bridget and Jake think they should explain all to Perry. Victoria doesn't like that idea. She says he's right outside the door. Jake's door.

Clarice's upset. She wants to feed MJ. Larry's calling Dale's father. Mr. Baker. They've known Dale for so long [she had a crush on Larry] and there must be someone somewhere out there getting kids into drugs. He wants MJ to talk to the principal and guidance counselor at the high school. Stuart Baker arrived. MJ and Clarice left. Mr. Baker's curt. What is this about? Larry said Dale had a problem and he thought she needed his [her father's] help.

Felicia is rather dazed. "Goodbye Lily" she said hanging up the phone "I'm talking to Liberace." they're mutual fans. He's got his favourite book for her to sign. Felicia: How does it end, exactly? Liberace: Well you know she realizes she loves the pianist and then she shows up at his concert with the lilacs -- you know it's his favorite flower. Felicia: Oh yes, and he could smell that she was there. Liberace: I like it when the pianist wins. They expressed their mutual admiration of each other. They suggested getting together when she gets back from the country next week. And now for a stroll around the park.

Bridget told Jake to tell Perry the truth. Outside Perry decided to go away. Bridget said if Victoria wouldn't talk to her she was coming right over. "Oh, Judas Priest" said Victoria and took the phone. She insisted Perry thought she was Marley and if she couldn't get away with it she'd tell him the truth. Bridget thought Perry should hear it from her or Jake but Victoria hung up on her and called Perry's room in her best Marley voice and said she had to talk to him.

Cass is irritable and being nasty in all directions. Daphne: Tell me, do you usually enjoy being rude? Cass: no, when I'm rude it's usually a sign that I'm not enjoying myself. She said he was one of those terribly strong men who didn't like it when a woman had the upper hand. Cass said he didn't like this kind of behavior from women or men. Cass' choice of wine was impressive. Cass doesn't like the woman. He'd rather be the cat in her little cat-and-mouse game. WINE SLOSHING ABOUT. He wanted to leave but she stayed him with promises of an offer. STRICTLY BUSINESS.

Larry showed Mr. Baker the straw. Mr. Baker was instantly on the defensive. He said it could be Cory. Lot of yelling on Larry's part about kids and drugs. Mr. Baker wants to avoid the issue. Mr. Baker said he trusted his daughter. Larry accused him of being afraid to face the truth. Slamming of door by Mr. Baker.

Victoria asked about Carl and ascertained that Perry had confided his suspicions in no one before inviting him to the Love estate for a chat. Donna is out at the hospital so it's safe. She was emphatically sorry about his father. Jake thinks she's insane. She left.

Larry kicked himself for losing his temper and handling the situation wrong. He just wants to help Dale. Clarice is proud of him. She said he should give Mr. Baker time to absorb what he's heard. If that doesn't work she'll talk to Mrs. Baker. Larry can't let it go.

Daphne wants Cass to be more civil. She's considering him for a job with an American brand of some big deal image changing spa type thing. Coordinator. He's tripping over his ego in his attempts to assure her that he's perfect for the job and actually so great that he can consider turning it down. He's interested.

Marley showed up at Jake's door. "You're back" he said, relieved. She was confused. "Marley." he said, cluing in and bringing her inside.

Bridget's worried about Victoria's plan. She's going to meet him in the stables and attempt to salvage their operation. [The stables in case of Peter.]

Marley's off work now. Jake was strange. She offered to leave but he realized she couldn't go home and kept her. He was vague and confused. She asked him to a movie. He said tonight was not a good night. She tried to leave. "No, stay" he said. She's confused. She asked if he liked her.

"I'm up here, Perry" called Victoria.

Liberace and Felicia are backstage at Radio City Music Hall. She loved his show. She's late. She's got to go. They have a dinner date for Friday the 24th.

Marley accused him of trying to avoid her. Jake said he liked her maybe too much and he didn't think he was good for her. She said that is just what one says to keep from getting too serious. He protested. She said she could take a hint [tears in her voice]. He said he wasn't trying to give her a hint. He said he wasn't good for her. "What are you, the plague?" He said he'd hurt her but couldn't give any concrete reason why. He asked her to stay.

Apparently Marley hates the place Victoria is so Perry was surprised but she got around it. She tried to convince him that he'd made a mistake about Jake and Bridget and he shouldn't tell anyone. He said he understood that Jake had been pushing her pretty hard and she'd fallen for him and he'd fallen for her. HE HASN'T said Victoria THEY'RE JUST FRIENDS. She covered up by saying maybe Jake and Bridget were just friends. Perry said there were friendly little con artists. He sees something is wrong with her. He told her she was too trusting and reminded her of the time she trusted a thieving gardener. She recalled it vividly. It turned out he'd made it up.

Cass and Daphne are getting along fairly well. She knows vast quantities of things about him. He knows virtually nothing about her and cordially resents the fact. There's time for that later if she makes an offer. She's calling him Cass now.

The Plains Motel people [from what MJ has heard] go after the kids pretty hard. Larry doesn't want to turn the case over to narcotics. MJ thinks he should. Mr. Baker came over to tell Larry he'd thought about what he'd said intending to talk to Dale but she wasn't there so he looked through her things [hoping he'd find nothing and be able to say nothing with a clear conscience] and found Clarice's earrings.

Perry insisted that Victoria was not Marley. Victoria insisted that she was. Perry said he'd grown up with Marley and he knew her and she wasn't like her. "Just because I forgot about some idiot gardener? You're really losing it." That was a very unMarley thing to say--and in her exaggerated Marley voice. WHO ARE YOU? he said. LET GO OF ME she said. She told him her name was Victoria. He asked why she looked so much like Marley and why she was trying to be her. Because I'm her sister. I'm her twin sister. Perry said no way. But Victoria said yes she was. Perry asked why he hadn't known. But Victoria said nobody knew because that was the way they wanted it. Perry: Who's THEY? Victoria: Our parents. They kept Marley and they gave me away. Perry: No. No, I knew Marley's parents and they would never do that. Victoria: THEY WERE MY PARENTS TOO AND THEY DID DO IT. Perry: I don't believe it. Victoria: Well, I couldn't believe it either. All my life I've wondered why they did it. What could I have done, a day-old baby that would make them want to give me away. Perry: No, no. You're making this up. YOU'RE MAKING THIS UP, you had surgery or something. I don't know what you did but you're in this for the money. Victoria: YES, I want the money. I grew up and I had nothing and SHE had ALL OF THIS [the poor child is breathing funny]. Perry: You're in on this aren't you? You are, aren't you? Victoria: What? Perry: You, and Jake, and Bridget. You're all in this together. Victoria: I DESERVE half of what she has. Perry: No. Mr. and Mrs. Love would never give away their own child [further hyperventilating from Victoria] -- you did this -- Victoria: I am telling you the TRUTH. Perry: the only truth you're telling me is that you want the money. Victoria: I don't want it all. Just half. Just MY HALF. I've never had anything. Perry: It's not going to work. It's not going to work. Victoria: Can't you look at me and know that I am telling the truth? Perry: I'm going to let Donna and Peter decide about this. Victoria: Please, PLEASE STAY. Perry: You listen to me. The Loves are the only family that I ever had and I'm not going to let you do anything to hurt them. Victoria: Let me explain, PLEASE -- Perry: No, you EXPLAIN this to the police. And just get out of my way. Victoria [who is by now hysterical]: I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU RUIN THIS FOR ME. NOT NOW.

The Bakers are going to handle this. Larry is not sure about this but Stuart insisted. He left. Larry's still concerned about the drugs.

Perry: Now you just get out of my way. Victoria: Could we make a deal? I'm going to have a lot of money. Perry: You're not Marley's sister. You're nothing like her [here his voice got a little indistinct and as far as I can tell he said either "In a million years" or "In her underwear"]. Victoria: Don't say anything to anyone. Perry: Donna will be very interested in -- Victoria: NO. Perry: You're not getting away with this. STRANGE SOUND. Victoria: PERRY. PERRY.
