Let the joyous news be spread -- they got Glaser. Vince found Mary redecorating.
Tony was surprised to hear that Nancy had told Ada she'd received his letter and would be in touch. He'd expected her to phone him. Chad and Cheryl played with Becky. Ada and Cheryl said how happy Adam and MJ were, now that the case was over. Chad said that nothing should stand in the way of MJ's happiness.
Cap'n Delaney fended off reporters while Adam cosied up to MJ. Chad phoned. MJ said she couldn't talk. He said it was about the tape. Adam asked who was on the phone. MJ told Adam it was Vince. He kissed her. Chad told MJ he was getting the tapes back today and he had everything under control. She said they'd talk later and hung up. She suggested she and Adam go back to his place. Kissing. She suggested they set the date for the wedding. Cap'n Delaney rushed in and insisted they talk to the press before going home. He had to pry them apart. Adam went out. MJ phoned Mary's Place. Chad had Cheryl say he'd left.
Cheryl pestered Chad. He changed the subject. She waffled about modelling. Becky is more important to her. Ada and Becky appeared. Cheryl collected Becky. Chad said he'd do whatever she wanted. Cheryl left. Wally dashed in and attacked Chad.
Mary feels it's time to clean out all of Vince's old tacky knickknacks. He accused her of trying to recreate her hacienda. She said she was cleaning out a really old shrine to Mary McKinnon. She said that Mary McKinnon didn't exist any more. She insisted on redecorating before moving out. She splattered Vince with blue paint just as Zack brought in Mrs Boudreau, the social worker who was to investigate them. Mrs Boudreau was not unsplattered, herself.
Adam made a statement. Lisa's father was called Robert. Gollum is not making a statement. Adam refused to say that he was insane. He dismissed the reporters. Tony came up and said he wanted to see Nancy. Adam asked if it had occurred to him that Nancy might not want to see him. Tony accused him of saying that to spite him. Adam said Nancy had asked him not to tell Tony her number or address. MJ backed Adam up. They were as apologetic as possible. Tony stomped out.
Wally offered to help Chad. He asked who was on the video tape. Chad said it was somebody from his past whom he still loved. Wally forbore to question more.
Mary fell over herself being nice to Mrs Boudreau. Vince wiped his face. (He should wear blue paint on his face more often.) Cheryl and Becky arrived. Becky said how much she loved living with the McKinnons when Mrs Boudreau asked. She showed snapshots. Mrs Boudreau left, satisfied. Vince and Mary complained to Zack about each other. Vince has something against armoires. Mary received some startling correspondence.
Wallingford told Chad that they could go into the blackmailer's room while he was in the shower and steal all of his copies of the tape. When they heard the guy singing "All of Me" rather vaguely, they crept in. They whispered a lot, so I'm not sure if Chad mentioned MJ. I guess they had to pick a lock or something. The shower stopped so Chad had to hold onto the bathroom door long enough for Wally to accomplish something. The showerer yelled. They grabbed a lot of tapes and fled.
Adam and MJ went back to his place. She told him he'd done a wonderful job. He said he couldn't have done it without her understanding, which meant a lot to him. (Someone has dismissed all those tantrums she threw.) Kissing. She suggested he get some rest. He refused to rest alone. Kissing.
Cass and Kathleen are coming home at the end of the month. Kathleen's letter says that Cass was arrested for singing in Rome. He got the police force singing "If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful" when it showed up. Mary abandoned all thoughts of moving out. Vince refused to paint over the kids' measurements. They measured Becky in the same place. Left alone with Vince, Mary told him that he had to let go of the past. He said he understood. Becky appeared and asked if Mary were going away.
Tony took his woes to Ada. She explained that the killer had left an impression on Nancy. She produced a letter that had come from her.
Adam and MJ are going to get married. He apologised for having treated her so badly during the case. She forgave him utterly. He went to get a surprise. Chad phoned. MJ was peeved he'd called her there. He told her everything was all right and no one would ever know she'd been a hooker. There seemed to be sinister noises, but nothing came of them.
Mary promised Becky she wouldn't go away in spite of what Cheryl said.
Nancy can't bring herself to come back to Bay City and pick up with Tony where they left off. He refused to believe it. Ada told him they had to respect Nancy's decision and try to understand it. Tony said he didn't understand it at all and stomped out.
Adam and MJ sipped champagne and thought of the future with hope. Kissing. MJ devoted herself to seducing Adam, clad in a white teddy; meanwhile, in an identical BLACK teddy, she was seen putting exactly the same moves on a john in the tape. The guy had managed to keep a copy hidden from Chad and Wally. MJ whispered to Adam about the wonderful life they would have together and how happy she would make him. I think she's in a rut.
