Catlin: answer me one question — have you filed for divorce? Sally: so you haven't gotten the papers yet. Catlin: I'm going to fight it. Sally: don't. Catlin: I'm going to fight it with everything I've got.
Nancy's worried about Chris. Rachel approves of the relationship. Nancy: while Chris and I were away — while we were traveling together — do you think mom might have jumped into the 20th century?
Carter arrived at the hospital. He sat at his father's bedside. Grant is proud of him. Carters determined to be as great a man as his father. He refuses to give up hope. Grant is puzzled because his heart was rated OK. He can't recall what happened.
Nancy thinks Ada's too conservative. She wants to talk to her later. She told Rachel she'd paid Kevin for the jar and everything was cool. Exit Rachel.
Felicia thinks they have to get word to Zane about Grant. Quinn came out of the room and they mobbed her. Everybody told Grant Todd stories. Felicia. Jake. Quinn. We all loved Grant.
Ada and Joe Delaney went to Smiley's and discussed modern youth. Ada cannot fathom her daughter Nancy. She is immature and impulsive.
Donna's looking through her father's papers for a document entitling her to &1flans3; of the Arizona treasure. She's spending the money in her mind already. Bridget told her Chris intended to restore it to Egypt etc. She and Bridget went up to look through the remaining boxes as Peter came in with Brittany. Britt's afraid of Donna. She thanked him for his help in Dry Creek. She said she thought they were sympa. He likes her. She's alive.
Sally: don't be a fool Catlin. Catlin: I'm going to fight it. I won't lose you. Sally: you already HAVE. Catlin: I made a mistake. Sally: YOU MADE A MISTAKE YOU BROKE YOUR MARRIAGE VOWS NO BIG DEAL, RIGHT? Catlin: HAVEN'T YOU EVER DONE ANYTHING YOU'RE SORRY ABOUT? Sally: WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT ME. Catlin: haven't you? In desperation he convinced her he would go and he wanted her to come. She didn't refuse to think about it and asked him to leave. He left.
Britt beat Peter at chess. She'd never played before. [“I'm not good... it's just that you're so bad.”] they laughed. Enter Donna and Bridget. Donna dismissed Bridget. Britt: it's real nice to meet you, Donna. Donna: thank you. Britt: I'm glad I had a chance to talk to you in person 'cause I wanted to thank you for that Christmas invitation. Did he tell you how excited I was? Donna: no, he didn't. Britt: oh, I'm not kidding, I almost cried. Donna: GOOD. Britt offered to bring cranberry relish. Donna refused it. Peter and Donna growled at each other in undertones. Britt took offence and a major catfight broke out. Peter called time out. Britt apologized handsomely. Donna left. Peter and Britt laughed. He told her he didn't care what Donna thought of her. He confessed he couldn't afford his own place. She said they could sell the mansion and be rich again. He agreed with her.
Ada found Nancy in her room. They talked about Grant. Nancy thinks it's great that Tom and Carter have each other. She wants to be with Chris. Ada likes him. Nancy denied planning to get engaged and said they wanted to live together. Ada forbade it. They argued. Ada is for marriage.
Chris is offering what little hope he can. Marley and Jake and Dee left. Felicia and Wally stayed. She mistook a man for Zane. Quinn came out and said Grant was dead. They cried.
The Todds cried.
Chris confided his frustrations in Nancy in Smiley's. She's a great ear. She told him she'd told Ada and let on it had gone well. She said she'd make a futon call for him. He has to go back to the hospital. Exit Chris. Enter Britt who sat down with Nancy and showed her her gift for Amanda. Except it turned out to be a baby bonnet [wrong box]. She said it was a for a friend in Dry Creek. Catlin Hove into view and after staring ahead of him briefly sat down at the counter away from their table. Britt went after him. He was short with her. She slunk back to Nancy and told her since Sally left him he'd been drinking.
Felicia and Wally sat in her apartment. She was unable to reach Zane. She asked Wally to be maitre d' for a while now. She's in despair about Zane. Wally suggested he'd gone ice fishing at Loon Lake. Felicia rushed off. Wally wept for Grant.
Brittany told Catlin she had wanted to talk to him about something important. He told her he wanted to be alone and said she was to leave him alone henceforth.
Peter told Donna she'd never find the paper. She did.
Ada told Rachel about her interview with Nancy. She stomped out. Rachel fears she intends to yell at Chris on duty.
Felicia found a fishing shack and called for Zane. The door opened behind her.
Editor's note: I don't understand why Sally needs to file for divorce. Wasn't the marriage invalid because Catlin's first wife turned out to be still alive and therefore it would have been bigamy? In fact wasn't the whole reason for talking about Duluth because they recognized the need to get legally married before Catlin went and committed his adultery?
