Zane dropped in on Kathleen to find out why Felicia hadn't shown.
Felicia checked her machine for messages. Auto insurance. Agent. Abrupt hanging up. Felicia declared this last Zane.
Quinn called for help.
Felicia fell into despair. Edouard tried to cheer her up. Paul called to tell her Edouard had the part. She turned him over to Edouard. Felicia blames herself for ruining her life. She got rid of Edouard and tried calling Kathleen. The line was busy.
Kathleen's talking to Vince on the phone. She turned her attention to Zane and he figured Felicia had seen Edouard and changed her mind about getting married. Kathleen begged him to be open-minded and wait for an explanation. He's mad. She called the lodge. Zane took the phone from her. The caretaker told him she'd left with Edouard and he stomped off saying he'd gone fishing.
Quinn had Thomasina paged. Grant is not doing well.
Peter found Britt in smileys and ceased his search for a judge to ask her to the cinema. Smiley's is deserted on account of the game. Maisie rattled in and mentioned that Catlin had been by earlier to watch the game but Maisie hadn't a set. Peter told Brittany Sally had filed for divorce. She told him she couldn't care less if Catlin were free. And he [Peter] doesn't care about Sally. She refused his invite to the Kino but promised to see him before Christmas. Exit Peter resuming his judge quest. Brittany found out Catlin's dinner hour from Maisie. She ran into Joyce on her way out and asked her not to tell anyone she was pregnant. She still has to tell the father.
Jake and every teenage female in Bay City is leaving the game. They heard Tom paged. She panicked and rushed to the courtesy phone.
There's a lot of beer sloshing about in the dressing room. Let the games begin. Carter was abducted for the BMOC initiation. He yelled and struggled.
Jake and his females were unable to find Carter so they left for the hospital.
Felicia and Wally visited Kathleen. Felicia is in despair over this latest message [gone fishing]. They tried to cheer her up. Felicia yelled at Kathleen about letting pride get in the way of marrying Cass. Wally told Kathleen how great she was in spite of not walking and listed all sorts of other social handicaps like dumbness, deafness, skinniness, fatness, too tallness, too — shortness. There is no such thing as perfection. His audience was moved to tears. Felicia advised her to make lemonade with the lemons of life.
The doctors are baffled. Grant's are not ordinary heart attacks. His levels fluctuate. He's fading fast.
Carter was taken to a deserted spot by Barnes Lake and partied at.
Catlin went to a real small high school [112 kids] and played football. He told Maisie so. Carter impresses them no end. Maisie rushed off because his steak was burning [she said it was his fault for being too fascinating]. Britt came in and sat several stools away from him. He was excessively civil and expensively invited her to sit a little closer. He's trying to unmuddle the report that he loved Britt when drunk and Sally when sober. She said that she'd heard when people were drunk their true feelings emerged [neglecting to mention all he done was rave about sweet Sally. If she believes this why doesn't she rethink her position?]. She suggested they forget the whole thing.
Initiation: dip in the lake and drinking 12 beers in two hours. Carter is wild and bound. He told them his father was critical. They laughed. Carter thought about the foot fun. He yelled at them. They began chanting with intent to take him down to the lake.
Kathleen and Edouard discussed Grant's condition. Vince and grant were best friends. McKInnons and Todds forever. Vince doesn't know about Grant. Edouard has hope for everyone. He told her she'd be walking before he left for Hollywood. She said she'd finished her Hemingway and he was perfect for Joseph Brubaker. She started crying about Cass and Grant.
Felicia's worried about Grant. Jake and his females [mostly the females] wonder where Carter is. They tried to find him. Jake looked into the camera with a wild surmise and recalled the mention of Barnes Lake. He fled without telling anyone where he was going.
Maisie provided Catlin and Brittany with cherry pie. ONE PIECE BETWEEN THEM. Britt says Brown Betty used to be Catlin's favorite. Catlin apologized for being nasty to Britt because he was drunk and down and loved Sally and didn't know what would become of him. She told him all she ever wanted was to see him happy. She said she guessed Sally would have to contact him soon but when she realized he didn't know about the divorce she [having told him she loved him] clammed up and fled.
Everyone's worried about Grant and the lack of Carter. Wally and Felicia wept.
Carter was liberally sprinkled with beer. He called the BMOCs jerks. Jake in the form of cavalry cycled up and announced "I'm the man you're going to wish you'd never met."
Catlin threw a lot of money at Maisie and dashed out into the cold. Brittany lurking in the shadows said "pretty soon Catlin Ewing. Pretty soon you're going to come running back to me."
Bip bip bip. Chris explained Grant's weirdness to Quinn. Grant raved about the Northwoods Inn. He heard Tom's voice and asked for Carter. She assured him he'd be there.
Jake yelled the BMOCs to go so they gone. They have to go to the hospital.
