ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

November 16, 1984

Marley visited Donna in jail. Donna protested her innocence yet again. Marley believes her but she's still confused as to why Donna should be arrested if she's innocent. Donna promised she'll be released and sent her home.

Catlin and Sally are in the hotel restaurant with the leather pouch carefully laid out on the table so it can be seen. Catlin is on edge but Sally is calmer. She's still raving about food. She feels fine since Emily will tell her mother that she's safe. Oh good going. Kathleen is sitting alone again (they are agreed that she looks a whole bunch like Cecile). Cass is hiding behind a plant to observe her. (up in the room, I should add, Kathleen asked him to kiss her "for luck." He obliged.) Someone approached Kathleen. (The poorly dressed gangster.) He said a lot of things about her mere presence brightening up the entire room. Cass is none too pleased to see A MAN speaking to Kathleen. He's worried about her safety. Cass is calmly eating Catlin's shrimp but he says he's not hungry. The gangster keeps looking at Kathleen. Cass: What is she doing? Sally: What do you mean? Cass: She's looking back at him. Sally: Well that is the idea, isn't it? Cass: She doesn't have to go overboard. Catlin: She's fine. Have another shrimp. Cass is agonizing because he thinks Kathleen made arrangements to meet the gangster. The gangster left briefly. Sally: That guy's pretty good looking. Cass: So was Dracula. A rose and champagne came to Kathleen's table. Catlin wouldn't let Cass go talk to Kathleen.

Mac and Rachel are having a quiet morning home alone. Mac is bothered by Carl. He's also bothered about Hunt.

Cass is nervous. Catlin is trying to calm him down. Sally put the leather pouch away in her handbag. Sally: It's getting a little claustrophobic in here. Cass: Claustrophobic? It's huge. Sally: Well maybe it's this table for two that feels a little tight. Cass: [moving his chair back all of 2 inches.] Is this better? Sally: Great. Catlin asked Sally if she'd like to dance outside, much to Cass' alarm. He tried to stop them but they left anyway. As soon as they left Kathleen left. Cass followed her. She says she's bored, bored, bored and she's going to take a bath. He told her to " get out of that elevator." (A command that somehow tickles my fancy.) He ran up the stairs to catch her. A waiter called someone and said "They're here and they've got the pouch. You'd think they were on holiday." And something about doing something immediately because they mightn't get another opportunity like this.

Catlin and Sally are on the terrace indulging in their own peculiar form of dancing, one that requires no music and very little motion. And a lot of kissing. To each his own.

Cass followed Kathleen into the room. They argued. She talked about the gangster being a gentleman, and liking her, and thinking she was beautiful. Cass hopes they'll be very happy together. She's going to leave.

Alice is at the Loves' on the verge of inspecting the room. She's telling Peter she thinks Donna's guilty. Marley is listening.

Hunt brought a flower for Rachel from Carl. Mac is perturbed. He's upset that Hunt hasn't been going to the Saturday seminars. Mac said he can't trust Hunt and asked him to leave.

Donna wants Carl to use his influence to get her out. He says he can't. Don't put your trust in Carl.

Mac threw the flower down. He told Rachel about Carl sending it. Apparently Carl has also been calling and leaving phone messages for Rachel. Mac won't let her call back or take the calls if she's in.

Alice realized that Peter hasn't seen the room before. Peter begged Alice not to dredge up something that happened a long time ago. They found a couple of pictures of a boy. Marley followed them down and hid until they left. She's feeling bottles now.

Kathleen is trying to pack but Cass is working at cross purposes. He's begging her to stay. Kathleen waxed eloquent on the subject of Cecile's duplicity. And she said that Cass had a faulty memory. He claimed he remembered as if it had been a couple of days ago. "She was wearing a red outfit ... we had dinner together." Kathleen set him straight and said "It wasn't Cecile. It was me."

Sally suggested (albeit reluctantly) that they go back inside. Catlin said in a little while. He went to get her purse. She said she'd wait there for him. The sinister waiter had the purse. Sally was not where he'd left her.

Cass sat down. "Are you sure?" He says he's confused. He says Cecile's gone even in his mind. Kathleen said she'd be Cecile again tomorrow. Catlin's yelling at the waiter. No one's seen Sally. He says he's got to find her.

Sally is largely unconscious and being carried beyond large doors by criminals with Ross supervising. Finis.

Note: Mark is still in hospital with his chest exposed. That's all hospitals seem to be for these men. Putting all their goods in the shop window, so to speak. You may also like to know that Catlin's shirt was largely unbuttoned, but his chest was not exposed much to Vida's and my relief. We disapprove of Mark. In regard to Mac's wardrobe: that sweater killed me and it's killing me yet. With the elk antler to antler. And Vida was appalled by his roughness in regard to the flower. Alice was talking to MJ in Mark's room early on and the guard could be seen out in the hall standing under an arrow. OMINOUSLY SYMBOLIC.
