ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 16, 1985

I think Kathleen and Cass have been bowling. Kathleen is apparently hot stuff in the lanes.

It sounds like Carter and Tom have told Quinn.

The police have yet to question Peter. Jamie's rarin' to go. He's impatient with the police. MJ's losing patience with him.

Peter is storing Emily in Donna's room now. Donna surprised him in the wine cellar. He told her he was checking the room out to see if she'd left anything that Marley might spot. He suggested she tell Marley. She refused to. She wanted to check the room for herself but he blathered about bad memories so she dropped it.

Cass had a friendly wager with the guys on Kathleen's bowling. He made $100. "You were born to bowl, Kathleen," quoth he. She's the first woman he's taken bowling to meet THE GUYS (D'Angelo and Hefner, they's called). He likened Dominique to wine and roses but Kathleen to beer and pretzels. He asked if she wanted a beer and she opted for wine. Not that he noticed. He said as soon as he was completely free of Tony he'd take her someplace to celebrate. Haute cuisine. He's included Felicia and Wallingford in this prospective gathering.

Quinn blew her stack. Carter said he could get a job and he wanted to marry Tom. Quinn told him to leave. He did. Tom tried to explain but Quinn is upset that she didn't confide in her before. Tom's crying. Lily tried to calm Quinn down. Quinn said, "I never thought this would happen, Lily. Not to my daughter," sounding lost.

Cass is plotting further literary successes. Kathleen doesn't want to talk business. Cass: You're absolutely right. We'll talk about something else. Do you play golf? Kathleen: No. Cass: Oh, that's too bad. I've got another crony. He's a real easy mark. He thinks he's a ten handicap but he really plays about 13. Are you sure you don't play golf? Vince came home. He doesn't like Cass. Cass mentioned Kathleen's bowling prowess. Vince: Well you always were a great bowler, Katie. Hey, but you ought to see MJ out in the lanes. Cass: You mean she's better? I can't believe it. Vince: Well, she doesn't score as well, but she's got better form. PERFECT form. But she hasn't got that killer, competitive instinct like Katie does. Kathleen: Thanks, Pops.

Quinn: She was different, Lily. Lily: Don't I know it, sugar. Quinn talked strangely of when she first met Tom. She sounds vacant. All she hoped for Tom seems to've vanished like Peter & Emily's clothes yesterday.

Carter went to see Grant. "I'm sorry, Dad. More than anything. More than anything else, I never wanted to let you down." "That's impossible, son. So what happened? Don't tell me -- you got a B this semester." "That simple. I ruined everything. Everything we planned. It's over. I mean you were right. I AM selfish. I always figured I could do everything I pleased and still get everything I want." "Carter, you're not making any sense." "Thomasina's pregnant. I'm the father. We're going to have a baby."

MJ came to ask Peter about Emily. She asked him about London. He played dumb. Donna was ejected at the beginning. She went down to the room and got excited at seeing Emily there. Such strange voices. MJ's going to take Peter to the station. Donna came back and advised Peter to do as MJ said. The police left with Peter.

Grant was struck dumb. Eventually he told Carter he loved him. THIS IS STRANGE.

Donna returned to Emily and told her the police have Peter. Emily said she had to leave. Donna locked the door and asked for an explanation. Emily told her about their plan to get Carl. Donna wants to be told everything about Carl. EVERYTHING.

Jamie arrived at the police station. Peter said he knew nothing. Jamie insisted he did. MJ yelled at him to go outside and not take advantage of their personal relationship. He said he was sorry. MJ: ACCEPTED. (Why do I keep thinking MJ and not Blaine is Catlin's sister?) She resumed with Peter after Jamie returned to his office. Peter said they should be after Carl, not him.

Emily's known Carl for 10 years. He got her involved with Dunning. For the sake of the babies. He was like a father to her. He took her to Kentucky. He told her David was a wicked man who wanted to take the babies away from their boughten families so she shot him. And Dunning was only in it for the money so ditto. Donna said she knew she had to help them get Carl. She went upstairs. She has a gun. Carl was there. He said he didn't think she'd shoot him because she was more a tea poisoner. And he advised her not to end it all. She told him to leave. He said he knew her better than anyone and he was her friend. He's having his horses removed.

Kathleen is cleaning up after her snack with Cass. She hates him saying she was beer & pretzels. MJ told her not to let him push her around. And to maybe ask him out for a DATE. Kathleen said that Monday with Jamie & MJ laughing and kissing in the kitchen was romantic. The home-cooked meal etc. But she says "fried eggs and instant mashed potatoes do not a romantic evening make." MJ agreed to cook it for her.

Donna taxed Peter with Emily. He said they'd trap Carl. For good.

Grant's going to help Carter. Kathleen called Cass. She invited him to dinner. She hung up. "Cass Cadwallader Winthrop, hold onto your hat. Here comes Katie McKinnon."

Has anyone noticed that Peter's women are getting progressively blonder and more wicked? Chart his course from Sally onward. Brunette with a past. Blonde who has often been accused of murder but has never actually been guilty of it (although she's been guilty of other things). Blonde who is NUTS and guilty of multiple murders. He also seems to sleep with each one oftener. SUCH A STRANGE MAN.

Happy talk keep talking happy talk. Talk about things you like to do. You've got to have a dream if you dont have a dream how you gonna have a dream come true?

I'll bet Peter leaves the milk all over the place.
