ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

December 13, 1985

Zane hurried back from Duluth, knowing there'd be hell to pay if he didn't show.

Felicia froze and stormed and wailed beside her stuck car. She's upset she won't make it.

Marley told Jake she thought she'd find her father for Christmas.

Nancy is in a great mood suddenly. Chris is bewildered. She said she was going with him. Chris doesn't want to upset Ada. And he doesn't understand why she won't marry him. He told her to talk to her mother. Nancy said it didn't matter what Ada thought. Chris suggested they talk to her together. She was thrilled and told him she didn't think he should have sissy sheets. Exit Nancy. Chris tried to convince himself she understood what he was trying to say.

Zane doesn't like Edouard. He went to the marriage license bureau [ having asked Wally to be best man] in order to be early just in case.

Felicia whispered to herself and calculated that she'd be late for Zane. She's miserable. She found she'd knocked over a sign saying "Lancelot Lodge 2 miles" and decided anyone could walk 2 miles even in heels. Off we go.

Grant told Carter he'd be proud of him even if he didn't break the freshman receiving record. He made fun of his feet. Enter Tom & Quinn & Wally. Grant told Carter he should go to a party after the game. Carter doesn't like the BMOCs. Exit Carter.

Marley would love to have a father for her wedding. But she'd rather not wait in case Donna gets weird. [Jake says it's unromantic.]

Ned likes dunking croissants. Donna: this is a mess. Ned: well you asked for everything I could find on Jake McKinnon. Donna: did it ever occur to you to put it in some kind of ORDER? Ned: did it ever occur to YOU that maybe I could use a secretary on a project of this MAGNITUDE? Donna: there's nothing here. Wait a minute. He was arrested? Ned: Yep. Donna: for inciting a riot? Ned: it was at a basketball game or something. I guess he didn't agree with the referee's call. Donna: oh. Ned: I never went in for basketball. Boxing was allus my thing. Donna: well in Marley's present emotional state to have him incite people to violence would probably make her think he's having school spirit. Ned: school spirit? McKinnon ain't got any of that. He dropped out in tenth grade. Donna: that's not in here. Ned: everybody knew about it. Donna: everybody in LASSITER knew about it. It didn't make the major news services. Ned: the major what? Donna: Tenth grade. She'd only feel sorry for him. Ned: excuse me, Miss Love, you talk to yourself a lot. Donna: that's because I'm the only human in the room. Ned. I need something that will upset a very sweet young girl. She is only deluding herself that she's in love with Jake. Ned: I don't get you. Donna: I need dirt. I need something disgusting. Ned: OH. Well that ain't here. McKinnon was allus a wild man but you know he always ran kind of straight in his own kind of way. Donna: wonderful. Ned: like this picture here. He got in the paper for cutting down a tree. Lightning hit it in the park. Donna: yes that's very fascinating. Ned: and ol' Jake thought a kid might get hurt so he took it out. Donna: next thing you'll be telling me about his work with UNICEF. Ned: you know you say things that I don't understand. Donna: I'd think you'd be used to that by now. Ned: listen. Miss Love you're looking for trash on McKinnon, right? I'm telling you, there ain't none of that here. I mean you can't just go making stuff up. Donna: no you can't. He's a very nice-looking young man, isn't he? Ned: I don't know. Donna: nice build — shirt off — straining — Ned. How would you like another croissant? [he accepted eagerly.] Ned. I've been looking at this picture. Ned: I know you have. For the past 15 minutes. Donna: are you interested in photography? Ned: fo — what? Donna: you know they can take pictures these days and alter them to make them look different. Ned: yeah, I have a friend who does that. Donna: you do? Ned: Mhm. He changes things around so it looks like something different's going on. Donna: well I just might be able to use his services. Ned: what, for that picture there? Donna: that's right. Ned: you want to make it look like something else is happening? Donna: you're very quick. Ned: something bad? Donna: I'll leave that to your lack of discretion. Ned: my lack of what? Donna: just make it look bad, Ned, okay? She paid him $200.

Grant and Quinn told each other how much they'd hated each other in the beginning. Now they like each other fine. They're happy with their children.

The government woman in the booth refused to take a picture of a young couple because it could be against regulations. Zane obliged them. They left. It's almost 4:30. They close at 5:30.

Felicia arrived at Lancelot lodge and hammered at the door. When the caretaker appeared and told her they were closed she flung herself sobbing on his chest and clutched his lapels begging to be allowed to use the phone. He repeated they were closed. Edouard appeared and without knowing who it was said she could come in. "Edouard." "Felicia."

Nancy told Marley all about living with Chris. Marley doubts that Ada will let her. Nancy says Chris is straight as an arrow. Marley lowered her voice and said "Nancy you're going to be living with him and YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE MARRIED." replied Nancy "Marley you don't know half the stuff Rachel pulled." nobody wants there to be trouble with Ada. Marley is afraid her own wedding won't work out. They went to watch football.

Felicia yelled at Edouard about his flight. She doesn't care anymore. He told her he'd been thinking. She yelled at him more and said she didn't follow anyone any more. The caretaker appeared with coffee.

Donna told Peter they had to find Michael and pay him not to be found. ["And what do you suggest we pay him with, beads and wampum?"] She railed at him about getting their money back from Carl. He's digging in his heels and refusing to attempt the impossible.

Carter insists on playing in spite of his ribs. Jake is in the dressing room as a messenger from the wife who will meet him before going to the hospital. The BMOCs invited Carter to their postgame party and refused to take no for an answer. ["Carter, you're in college. You study, you play football, and you PARTY. It's what it's what's expected of us." "And lately you've been letting us do too much of your share of the partying." "it's not right Carter. It's UNAMERICAN."] Jake suspects they've been partying a little already. When he passed them on the way out he heard one say "the bonfire at Barnes lake will glow with gladness at the introduction of a new member."

Chris is checking Grant out with the game on. Grant lapsed into insanity [and the past] begging his mama to let him play ball. He snapped out of it. Chris said he'd check back in at halftime and left.

The government woman started shutting up earlyish. Zane wonders where Felicia can be.

Felicia was mad enough to stomp all the way back to Bay City on foot but Edouard summoned the phone. She yelled at him some more. He told her his thoughts and said he'd finally realized she loved Zane and he [Edouard] was behaving very badly. The wind was taken out of her sails. They decided to be friends. He's going to help her get back. She wants to call Zane first.

Donna heard about the treasure on the news. She yelled for Peter and said &1frasl3; was hers.

Carter broke the record. Grant had a fit.

Felicia got the number for City Hall. She dialed. Zane heard the bell and stared at it in vain shut up behind the glass.
