Jamie plied Lisa with champagne and kept saying meaningly that he wanted tonight to be special.
Adam went crazy because he couldn't figure out whose voice was on the Cheryl tape. MJ told him the tape recorder had been stolen from the police.
Tony has a sweet tooth. He loves his work. He worries about Nancy. Enter Greg. Tony became obnoxious. Greg accused him of being the killer. Nancy and Ada broke up the fight. Greg agreed to leave. Ada chewed Tony out for fighting. Nancy accused Tony of having lied to Greg.
Jamie gave Felicia credit. Lisa recognized p 42.
Could the killer be a cop? The lab called with the identity of the voice on the tape.
Mitch left to catch his flight. Felicia informed him she knew Singapore and would love to show him the city if she had time away from Tops and Dr Glaser. Mitch agreed that she couldn't leave Bay City now. That was not her intention.
I have no idea what Nancy is talking about. After Tony left Christine Wheeler burst in to warn Nancy against him again. She produced a letter.
Felicia told Mitch about the hot spots in Singapore. Mitch pointed out that he wasn't going on holiday. He said he'd rather stay in Bay City and watch the progress of her Big Date. He wants to know about the socks. He took his leave as Wallingford came up. Felicia assured Wallingford she didn't want to go to Singapore, and besides, Mitch and Michael would kill her. She got an idea and pressed Wallingford into service.
Jamie and Lisa danced.
The voice had been taken from INVESTMENT STRATEGIES FOR 1987 and pieced together. [it should have sounded a little weirder, surely. No matter how hard I try, the thing at the Science Centre never sounds quite right. Some words I will allow, but I doubt anyone suggested investing strategically in Cheryl. Investment strategies wouldn't use normal conversational words, either.] Dr Glaser said he'd bought it, and it was helpful. He'd seen the ad in Brava. Adam told Val to call Mac.
Nancy refused to believe Tony was the killer. Christine made her read the letter, which Laurie had written the night before she died and never gave to Tony. The letter said that Tony had lied about working late and she didn't understand him.
Adam introduced Mac and Dr Glaser. He explained about the ad and the tape. It's an expensive series of tapes, but Brava being what it is would have insisted on a sample set [so of course Tony is still implicated]. Good old Detective-Sergeant Cory phoned the mail-order house and asked for a list of buyers. He told them to send the list to their computer using a modem and the password REMOTE-X7. [Good, Adam. Shout the password from the highest tree with runner-up suspect Dr. Glaser in the vicinity. Just because he's only runner up doesn't mean he'll never be Miss America, you know.]
Felicia told Wallingford to look through Elizabeth's flight bag while she distracted her. He perceived that she didn't like her. She spelled HAUPT for him several times. They put the plan into action. Miss Sanders' car came and Wallingford pretended he had been getting her things for her. Exit Elizabeth. Wallingford had found something of use.
Jamie keeps talking funny. Lisa stepped on his feet. He didn't notice. She said she'd only ever danced with her father before. Her mother didn't like her to go on dates. They died in a car accident when she was 16. She'd felt danger and hadn't prevented it. Jamie exonerated her. He said he'd lost his father in a terrible accident, too. But, hey, life goes on.
Christine begged Nancy to listen to her. Enter Tony. He ordered her out.
Adam told Dr Glaser about the theft of the tape recorder and asked him to look through policeman to find any psychos lying around. Dr Glaser promised to have it done for tomorrow and left. MJ tried to make Adam take a break but he told her to run along. She said they should talk. He said to go ahead. She said she just wanted to look after him and love him and make him happy. He said that was all very well but his happiness had to come behind other stuff. The list of buyers came in. Peter Love bought one. Ditto Lazarus. Paddy Harrigan, cop. Mac arrived and said the sample had been stolen from his office. Adam found out that Tony could have done it.
Christine freaked out. She called Tony "murderer." He accused her of having forged the letter. He accused her of being jealous because he'd preferred Laurie to her. She left. Tony told Nancy she was crazy. Nancy seems to have doubts. She refused to go home, pleading work. He pointed out her shift was over.
Jamie told Lisa she could talk to him anytime. She felt chilly. He gave her his jacket. She suggested going inside. She tried the doors and found them locked. They seem to be stuck for the night.
