ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 15, 1985

Rachel discussed the difference in her background and Mac's with Ada. She was surprised that it didn't matter to him. Ada told her Mac was a good guy and she should give him a break.

Zane bought the boat and some form of beverage for Britt to christen it with. She showed him something for the apartment. They drank to "A nice, new life" for both of them. "Why you think I'm staying in Bay City?" said Zane.

Catlin did not stay at the cabin last night but he brought his beloved breakfast. Apparently one night of "Waking up to an empty bed" [here I quote Catlin; he didn't get much sleep last night, peggoor sweggeet] has been sufficient to "Screw [his] courage to the sticking place" [here I quote Lady Macbeth. Catlin and Sally as the Macbeths. Boggles the mind]. He's made up his mind to make Brittany understand today. Lysistrata plotting works.

Mac chanced upon Rachel and Ada [they're at the Corys'] and was pleased. Enter Nancy. Ada told her Perry had called last night and he's upstate at the pen and Carl had had an accident. They're going to swim. Mac's going to work at home today. He wants to take Rachel to lunch. Perhaps, she said.

Grant's still gazing longingly at Carter's trophies. He told Carter he and Quinn would pay Tom's medical expenses. Carter doesn't want to let him. He's got the job at KBAY.

Lily and Dee are going to visit Tom. Her blood pressure's down but it's still serious. Quinn wants to be the one to tell her. She said she was closer to Tom than anyone and she said confidentially Tom and Carter had been under strain lately.

Lily's feeling the baby kicking. She made Dee do it too. Tom appreciates Dee's visit. Tom wants to be sprung from a hospital. She asked about the cotillion. Quinn came in. Dee was introduced. Quinn wants a word with Tom alone.

Rachel's going to think about lunch. Mac told Ada he thought they should go to the cabin by the lake alone together maybe jog her memory. Donna called to thank Mac for his advice and company. She wants to talk to him again over dinner to discuss "Various possibilities." he's very busy but she's determined. Mac told Ada she seems to be having money troubles these days. Ada asked if Mac had told Rachel about his rendezvous with Donna. He said not. She advised him not to "We're running out of vases."

Catlin's going over to see Brittany now. Sally wishes she could help. He says knowing she loves him is enough help. She offered a good luck kiss. He said it couldn't hurt. Good luck kiss. Enter Peter [I guess they're at the complex] rarin' to get on with work with Sally without Catlin. Exit Catlin. Sally apologized to Peter for jumping down his throat about legalities. He said she needn't. He said she deserved to be happy and if she needed help he would help. She said she and Catlin would work it out.

Zane wants to take Brittany out for a cruise on the boat for a couple of days. She wants to go riding at the stables down the road. He objected because she hasn't been on a horse since before the accident. "... well I can see why you want to take up again ... Britt, you and Catlin cannot go back to being a rodeo act ... well you may have been a great team, but ..."

Carter told Grant he knew he was a disappointment to him. Grant denied it at first but admitted sometimes he is sad about the way Carter's life is going but he respects the way Carter handles things. Carter told him about Thomasina. He says it's his fault. Grant says it's not. Carter says he loves her.

Dee likes Tom and Carter's relationship. She talks about her mother's "Boyfriend of the Month Club" attitude. Dee told Lily she likes Felicia but she'd kill to have an apartment of her own but she's utterly broke. Lily suggested waitressing at the Northwoods Inn.

Tom appreciated Dee and Lily's visit. Quinn told her about her condition. She asked why she hadn't told anyone about the dizzy spells. Tom worried. Quinn told her she intended to hire someone to look after her. Carter appeared and said it wouldn't be necessary. He can look after her.

Brittany told Zane what a wonderful horseman Catlin was. And she was. But Catlin's better. Catlin came to the door. Wanting to talk to Brittany alone. Zane left. Catlin told Britt he cared about her and even loved her -- in a way. But not the same way as he had when they were married. Their life together was in the past and he loved Sally now. He asked her to understand why they had to get a divorce.

Quinn and Carter argued. Quinn left. Carter told Tom all would be well.

Rachel and Nancy bathing Matthew. But Rachel "Came all over queer." She remembers the name Mitch.

Lily and Carter talked. Carter hates having to live with Grant. Interfering parents. Lily suggested they get an apartment and a roomy. She suggested Dee. Carter thinks it a good idea from all standpoints.

Donna is mad that Joyce has been admitting patients [viz. Tom although she doesn't know T. H. Todd is Tom.] without insurance. Tom must be sent away she decreed. Over my dead body said Quinn. Quinn cowed Donna completely.

Carter set things up with Dee. He explained the situation to her. They're pleased.

Catlin told Sally things seemed to go well with Brittany. He says she's hurt though. Sally said she'd have Zane.

Britt's not happy. Zane is trying to cheer her. He thinks they should go back to Oregon where they had a nice life. A lot of silence. I don't think she wants.

Rachel asked Mac about Mitch. He told her he was Matthew's father.

Britt wrote a letter and told Zane to take it to Catlin. He warned her she was playing with fire.
