ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 14, 1985

Peter loves Sally's work as usual. He told her Nouvelle is in jeopardy so they have to make it irresistible and punctual. He says they'll have to work late.

Larry asked Catlin if Sally knew where he was staying. Of course she does said Catlin with immeasurable contempt in his voice. He added that it wouldn't be for long and Larry said he was welcome for as long as he liked. It seems Larry has yet to tell Clarice but he's sure she'll be happy as a clam.

Clarice has invited Zane and Britt to dinner.

Jake called Bridget and began to tell her but Donna burst into view and thwarted the conversation.

Peter and Sally working. She biffed off to draw up an outline. Donna called to see when Peter was coming home. He said probably not at all while saving Nouvelle. Donna was pleased but tried not show it.

Donna is preparing to make a splash for Mac. She wants Bridget to retire to her room after serving.

Bridget called Jake back. He told her all he knew about Perry. She says they have to do something. Jake said he'd think of something. Victoria said he'd said he'd call Nancy tonight and they couldn't let him talk to her. Jake will take care of it.

Britt told Zane she is getting an apartment. He said he didn't want her living alone. She said she'd be with Catlin. He said she was riding for a fall. She wants him to lend her the money. He will.

Brian came to see Sally. He told her Mark's in New York thinking of going back into politics. [Brian doesn't sound like himself.] He's been made a senior partner in his law firm there. He asked Sally about Catlin. She said he was confused. Brian told her she wasn't legally married to Catlin.

Clarice came home and paid Dale [the baby sitter]. She seems weird. She didn't want Larry to walk her home. She's 15. Perry told Clarice Catlin was going to be staying with them. She told him Zane and Britt were coming over. They're both upset. He told her to call them up and cancel at any cost. They couldn't get them. Enter Catlin.

Sally told Peter she couldn't work tonight. She's rather upset. She told him about Mark's promotion and said Brian had told her she wasn't legally married to Catlin. Peter was fogged. He said she'd already known that it she said yes but she hadn't known the whole world was talking about it. He said they weren't. She said she had to go to Larry's. Peter asked why. She said Catlin was living there and fled. Presumably Peter gnashed his teeth considerably.

Clarice sounds like she's cringing afraid that Catlin will smash her. He asked why they were so worried because he was staying. She said they were having dinner guests. Catlin said he'd go out to eat if he'd be intruding. They didn't get a chance to explain before Zane and Brittany showed up at the door.

Nancy doesn't know where Perry is. Rose [young waitress at Smiley's] said he had to go out of town. She didn't know where. To prevent her [Nancy] from going home he [Jake] asked her and Marley to a movie. Nancy took some persuading. Marley was a little put out that Jake was so desperate to have Nancy along. "Hunting for Helen or Looking for Lola ... I don't know." it turned out he meant Desperately Seeking Susan. [That Madonna woman was born in Bay City Michigan. This I know.]

Bridget's on about the food. Donna keeps reminding her she's to clear off after serving. Mac arrived. Donna is effusive and breathless.

Things are a little strained at the Ewings'. Zane talked about the marina. He's considering buying a boat. Catlin's weird that he's staying. He wants to try to understand Britt without Zane interpreting. She told everyone she's getting an apartment on Willow Street. Zane will take her to sign the lease tomorrow. Clarice said she had a lot of things she could give her to help her get started and they could go shopping together. Larry told her to check the roast. Catlin is off his chump telling a story about saddles and roasts. Sally appeared. Everybody tried to explain. Catlin wanted to talk to her but she apologized and dashed off. Catlin said to the gathering in general that he had to talk to Sally because she was upset. He apologized to Brittany in particular but I don't think she would look at him because he gave up and told them to tell her. He left. The roast is ready.

Donna told Mac how busy he kept Peter and she was so alone in terms of personal contact. She said she assumed it was the same with him. He said he has the children and Rachel is only temporary. She told him things about how it was best to let things go. He said he should leave. She begged him to stay for brandy. Peter returned and Donna commented on his unreasonably early appearance.

Nancy and Marley and Jake discussed the film. Nancy left. Marley was quiet for a bit. She then asked if he really did want to be alone with her so very much. He made himself sound really sweet "Taking out a girl whose boyfriend is out of town." She's appeased. He'll take her home.

Mac left. Donna is practically drooling. She bitched at Peter. He bitched back. He's mad Sally wouldn't work. He insinuated things about her intentions. She made snide remarks about working with Sally. She then apologized. They agreed they'd been working too hard for what they want. She said they'd get it back.

I think Jake kissed Marley at her door. He said she was very special. She's naively pleased. She told him Donna liked him. She invited him to the party. The girl is falling.

Zane and Britt left. Clarice is worried because Sally looked so hurt. Larry told her not to. She went to see Cory. Larry found something.

Catlin tracked Sally to her lair and managed to comfort her though she bristled to begin with.

Larry's discovery was drug paraphernalia. Cory identified it as Dale's. It's a straw.

Britt wants Catlin back but Zane's not sure she'll get him.

Sally: Our marriage is invalid. It's as though it never took place. Brittany has all the rights as a wife and I have nothing. Catlin: You have my love. He is more determined than before to make Brittany understand. Consolatory embrace.
