ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 14, 1987

The police investigated Lisa's impression of the killer on the terrace. Felicia asked Mitch to delay the photographic job hunting a little.

Poor Vince has had a run-in with the Revenue on account of Mary's return and her return. Most unexpected, coming from a dead person. And instead of retiring with a cold cloth and a mint julep to help cope, the IRS has begun a systematic persecution of the imagined culprit. Mary said they'd explain. Vince said they didn't want an explanation, they wanted an audit. Their marital situation must be resolved legally.

Donna threw herself at Michael's head. They are married. Donna became suggestive, since everyone else is out of the house. Everyone, it seems, except John. He interrupted. Michael detained him to chat. John was not receptive. Michael proposed having Clara move in permanently. John flared up. Donna became pacific. John accused Michael of being bossy. He clammed up when asked about being dead and stomped out.

Scott advised Mary and Vince to talk to Zack. He took Mary aside and suggested a legal separation from Vince. Mary wasn't sure. She asked if he thought she should go the whole hog: DIVORCE.

Felicia ascertained that she and Mitch could see each other unprofessionally. He said she could whistle if ever she needed a bartender. They'll miss each other. She shooed him. Enter Mac. Felicia told him he was going to hire Mitch. Mac dug in his heels. Felicia showed him some scrumptious photographs. Enter Mitch. He refused to be hired. Mac began to mellow.

Mary told Scott how much she'd loved history. He asked what she knew about foreign policy during the Vietnam War. She told him as John walked in. Scott and Vince argued about the war. John jumped in and accused them both of not knowing anything. John's interpretation sounded closer to Scott's. Vince recognized him. John stomped out. Vince told Mary about John's basketball career.

Pounding surf, of all things. John reminiscing about basketball.

Mac said he didn't base professional judgments on personal prejudice. He complemented Mitch on his photographs and pled with him. Mitch tried to extricate himself but that Cory toils tightened. Mitch and Mac reached an agreement. Felicia was pleased. Donna arrived to discuss her troubles. Felicia advised her to confront John. Donna demurred.

Michael responded to Vince's summons. Vince told him what had happened. Michael headed out after John.

John brooded around his high school haunts. He recalled a basketball game, watching a kid practice badly. Name of Chris*. The team has gone downhill since John left. John coached him a little. Chris was impressed. ["Your arm is an extension of your brain." was one of John's pearls of wisdom.] John was transported to another time with Donna in the stands cheering Michael on.

Zack suggested resolving the marital situation. The McKinnons shied away from all mention of divorce. Mary chopped onions and wept. Vince asked gently if she wanted to stay married to him.

Donna said John would have to agree to a cell test. Felicia advised her to clear the paternity up. Enter Dr Glaser. Felicia thrust Donna into his arms and left them.

Mary resents the Revenue's forcing her hand. Vince said he appreciated the prod. She asked how he felt. He said she was his wife and he liked it. She admitted she liked him but it was complicated. She thanked him for his help in getting re acquainted with her old life. She said she didn't want to divorce because it would be admitting there was no hope for them. Vince was hopeful.

Basketball has ceased to be a fundamental truth, now that a certain undead brother has become involved. Chris left.

Felicia and Mitch toasted his success. She suggested celebrating later. He left. Dr Glaser advised Donna to plan her attack. She assured him she'd see it through and thanked him. Dr Glaser said she needed moral support. She told Felicia she had to talk to John tonight.

John pictured young Donna drooling over Michael with a disco ball above her head. Michael hove into view and asked what he was thinking about.
