Liz struggled with the list.
Jason told John they had to underbid for the hospice wing. John told him Mary would never let them have it.
Felicia suggested Mitch wear a raspberry tuxedo. Mitch: I'm supposed to be getting married, not opening in Vegas. Felicia: it's a joke. You know the thing I love most about you? I can always get you, each and every time. Mitch told her he had an idea for the wedding. Mitch: you know the hill and Baker's Park? It's really nice up there at dawn. I thought we might just gather everyone, watch the sun come up, maybe have a guitarist, you could make a lot of food and we could just give it out to everyone, what do you think? Felicia: WELL, I think — I think — it would be VERY NICE. Mitch: we wouldn't have to worry about stuff, we'd just wake up and we'd just wear whatever we put on. You know, just to kind of make a statement that it's just another day, nothing special. Felicia: nothing special. Mitch: but if you don't like that maybe we could go as far as maybe tie dye some sheets. You could do that and we could get some flowers and put them in your hair. Felicia: well, it's just that — I was thinking that — Mitch: or chicken suits. Felicia: chicken suits? Mitch: gotcha. Felicia called off the wedding. Loretta came over in a flap. She told Mitch he had to do something about Matthew. When Mitch found out there was no new crisis he told her to stay out of it and stop dramatising herself. She said she hoped Matthew would never speak to him that way. Mitch said he hoped he would if he ever deserved it. He suggested Loretta call before dropping by again. Loretta stomped out. Felicia lit into Mitch. He didn't feel guilty.
Mac took it good-humouredly when Liz told him how she had refused to let Cass have the list. She hadn't known Cass was working for Mac. Mac phoned Cass, who referred to Liz as Cerberus, and turned the phone over to Liz. Liz was coldly polite.
Jason planned furiously. He told John Mary knew the difference between business and social stuff. John said respect and trust counted in both.
Cheryl told Scott she thought he should help Kevin. He wondered why she cared. Cheryl fled. Vince came in. Scott told him Adam was researching Jason. Vince told him he'd overheard Mary telling Jason off and he didn't know why. Mary overheard the tail end.
Cass met with Mac and Liz. Mac said he was sure Drew must be the front man. Liz took notice. Mac said he'd try to find someone to get to Drew. He thought of Paulina, the Countess Swajeska, who is hard to track down. Liz said someone could impersonate her. Cass regretted the loss of his Krystle Lake wardrobe. Liz said she had spoken to the Countess on the phone and could do the voice. Cass approved.
Felicia didn't feel like planning the wedding any more. She thought Mitch should be more understanding with Loretta. Mitch was annoyed.
Kevin moved in. Cheryl was nice to him. Mary told Vince she didn't trust Jason. Vince told her what he'd overheard. He asked what Jason had done. Mary told him she'd just never liked Jason. Vince got mad because he suspected there was more to it.
Nicole maintained that Drew was innocent. Cass said Liz would prove it one way or the other. They decided to tell Drew that the Countess was in town for a fitting because she had loved the Baroness von Korber's dresses. [Cass: this is good, this is very good. Baronesses and countesses all know each other.]
Mitch and Felicia argued about whether or not she had picked a fight as an excuse to call off the wedding. Felicia said it just scared her to see Mitch had this cold side. She wanted to know if he'd turn on her so easily. He told her she didn't know what she was talking about. He knew what happened when he was nice to Loretta. Mitch's philosophy is that a spouse or a parent has made a promise to his or her co-spouse or child, but a child is not responsible for its parent in the same way. The parent has to earn it. Felicia suggested they not have children.
Nicole told Drew she had made a mistake and didn't need his help after all. Enter Liz, complaining about Nicole's prices. Drew jumped up and told her he'd been trying to find her. Nicole left them alone. Drew told Liz he could help her make a lot of money. When he took a phone call Liz heard him say the name Nils den Tender at Korstenbau.
Loretta wept in Mary's Place. She told Ada her troubles. Ada advised her to tread carefully when discussing grandchildren with children. Mary told Scott she thought the whole Jason thing would blow over and he wouldn't get the hospice.
Vince dropped in on Jason. Jason assumed Mary had told him he'd made a pass at her and mentioned it. Vince ordered Jason to stay away from Mary.
John came into Mary's Place. Marry asked him why he was partners with Jason. John, rather bitterly, said no one else had wanted him. Mary was sorry. John left a little upset. Kevin saw him stop and touch Cheryl's face on his way out. Kevin asked her about him. Cheryl was short with him.
Liz couldn't remember the name. She got upset. Mac soothed her but he was pretty frazzled. When she thought of it Cass was so thrilled he hugged her.
Cass and Liz told Nicole the good news. Cass has a new respect for Liz. Nicole said she was too busy to celebrate. Liz said she'd hold down the fort. Nicole went to change. Cass asked Liz to come along. Liz refused. She has warmed to Cass.
Felicia said if Mitch had another baby it might make Matthew feel excluded. Mitch didn't buy it.
Vince poured himself a drink. Mary suggested they go out to dinner. He asked Vicky why she hadn't told him Jason had made a pass at her. She said she hadn't wanted to hurt him. He said her not telling him had hurt him because it seemed like she was protecting Jason.
