ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 12, 1987

Lisa lay in wait for Jamie outside the hospital. They kissed.

Cass dropped by Mary's Place. Vince had stayed all night. Cass asked what the matter was. Vince said he'd never loved MJ enough.

Rachel insisted Matthew wear a tuxedo. He gave her a letter which caused her to throw up her hands in despair. Amanda is driving cross-country with Lisette and Sarah in a second-hand jeep. Mac assured Rachel that Amanda would come for her birthday. Rachel told George and Anthony to take down the decorations. Mac told them to continue decorating. Matthew threw a tantrum because Suzy Strathmore turned him down.

Sam knocked on Mitch's door with a breakfast bright and early. Felicia was glad to see him. Mitch wasn't. Felicia pressed Sam for details about the women in Mitch's life.

Lisa told Jamie she was going to be very nice to him because he'd been very nice to her. He is, however, to sleep alone.

Vince poured Cass coffee. They discussed being widowers. Vince said he'd relied on MJ too much and not allowed for her being half an orphan herself. Cass was sympathetic. Vince said he was going to talk to an old friend. Cass yelled at him for excluding him from family problems and headed for the Love Tower.

Sam approved of Felicia. He advised Mitch to marry her. Felicia said they had no intention of getting married. Mitch was peeved. Felicia thought about his graphic arts stuff and suggested he meet Mac. Mitch disapproved. Felicia explained Matthew's relationship to Mac. Sam knows all about Rachel, it seems.

Matthew's tuxedo was too small. Rachel promised to get it fixed. She offered to phone Suzy Strathmore's mother. He was horrified. She promised not to. She got on the phone to yell at the florist.

Mitch thinks Sam's father doesn't like him. Felicia is just crazy about Sam. He showers her with compliments. Lavish 'uns.

Jamie and Lisa crept up the back stairs. Jamie does live in the Romance, quelle horrible surprise. She took him into his room and told him to get into the shower. He flung himself on the bed and said he'd make love to her but he hadn't the strength.

Ada doesn't approve of the coming out party. Rachel accused her of picking on her since Nancy left. Ada said she didn't want her granddaughter to be a snob. Mac and Rachel said Amanda ought to be familiar with society, but they didn't expect her to hobnob exclusively with society. She won't have her head turned, she's beautiful, intelligent, and independent. Ada relented. The plans started falling apart. Ada took charge and saved the day.

Jamie is as corny as Kansas in August. Lisa provided breakfast. She told Jamie his family was not as repressed as hers had been. He knocked her over the bed. She said she had to go fix a surprise. He coaxed. She fled.

Sam dressed for a job interview and fled. Mitch reminded Felicia they hadn't discussed their ideas on marriage so it was a little strange she'd been so sure talking to Sam. She convinced him that it was wasteful to run two showers.

Peter and Reginald have conspired to cause problems in Michael's business. That Old Carrot was pleased to hear Donna hadn't gone to Philadelphia. They looked at the beach photos. Cass bounded over to tell them he was staying in town. He called Peter an upper class twit. He grinned a lot. Peter chafed.

Vince showed up at the romance to talk to Mac. He expressed his troubles vaguely. Mac said that Rachel had always been a help to him with the children. Ada came in. Vince said he loved Mary and he thought she loved him. Ada advised him to go for it.

Jamie had a stupid candlelit dream about Lisa, to the tune of The Rose. He awoke to see Lisa in his doorway. She came in and told him sometimes dreams come true. He spotted paint on her hand. She asked his favourite colour. (She rejected navy blue and made him try again. She allowed red.) He was desperately curious. Matthew came in and found them kissing. He was disgusted.

That Old Carrot praised Peter.

Sam's résumé is printed on red paper as an attention-getting device.

Matthew sat with Mitch and Rachel. Mitch talked to him and suggested he come to Amanda's party anyway. Matthew refuses not to dance, so he can't show his face. A dog was delivered for Matthew from Amanda. He's not housebroken. Rachel said she'd kill her.
