ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

June 11, 1985

Zane was dumbfounded for an intsant [sic] and said "You can talk." "Yep" she said.

Catlin went to the cabin looking for Sally and Kevin. He found a letter in Sally's voice saying she'd taken him to the Corys and he (Cat) was to let them know where he'd be later. We love and miss you, Sally and Kev. Catlin said he loved and missed them and it would give him just enough time.

Felicia is forcing housewarming gifts on Tom and Dee. The most recent was a bell. To save Tom's voice and avoid excitement. Carter arrived and was presented with something which caused him to say "Wild blueberry." He then commented on the vast quantities of food in the fridge (eight bags of wienies). Tom said they weren't for us they're having a graduation party.

Vic's a little groggy. We're not to pay any attention to anything she says. Donna appeared and good ol' groggy Vic said "I don't want to lie anymore. Only the truth. It won't work. Can't -- fool -- mother."

Tom's valedic. Tradition to hold open house. Felicia fled having something else to do. "What's his name?" said Dee and yes it's ZANEGLORIOUSZANE [who is the tall dark stranger there Maverick is the name]. Carter asked if they really have to have the party. Tom said yes and fled to make him lunch. Dee told him to tell her he wouldn't graduate before she hears it from someone else.

Zane was thrilled. "Tell me how it happened. ... what did Catlin say? I'll bet he dropped his teeth." She told him everything chronologically. Zane thinks Catlin botched things. She said Catlin had told her he wouldn't help her unless she couldn't hear [interesting interpretation of fact if ever I've heard one]. He told her Catlin had a right to know. She asked about HER rights. He said she had to tell him.

Bridget said Vic was confused. The doctor agreed. Donna took the doctor aside and asked if he'd told Victoria. He said no nor Marley neither. Meantime Bridget told Victoria she had to try to hold her tongue no matter what she remembered.

Britt was sorry about the boat but Zane pressed on about telling Catlin. He said he'd find out anyway. She said not unless HE told him. He said he wouldn't but she had to. She said she loved Catlin and would do anything to get him back. He gave her a nice little lecture about love based on lies. She said Catlin needed time to remember how much he loved her. Further lecture. She said she'd tell him when she'd had time to think about it. He told her she could communicate better now and she'd have to take the chance he wouldn't want her even talking.

Sally and Kevin found Nancy crying so Kevin was sent to Amanda. Sally offered herself as comforting listener. Nancy wants to stay by the phone. Sally left, concerned. Kevin came back and asked Nancy if he could go see Brittany. (Amanda's being boring and baking cookies with Matthew.) She left him with instructions to inform her if relocating.

Donna thanked Bridget for her support and generosity. She thinks Vic's ravings about money were weird. Bridget said she hadn't been attending.

Sally: hi. I saw your car out front. What you doing home in the middle of the day? Catlin: I have a little surprise.

Bridget enthused to Donna about lovely Victoria. Donna went to get her tea. Jake appeared far more worried about one than the other. Bridget threw him out because it was Victoria's room and he shouldn't have known about it. She wondered aloud which he meant when he said "I couldn't stand it if anything happened to her. "

Kevin and Britt want to go on a picnic so he asked Nancy. She allowed it. He said it was too bad Sally couldn't come--she LOVES picnics.

Sally: WHAT are you doing? Catlin: I'm making a picnic, what does it look like? Sally: what is the occasion? Catlin: since when does a guy need an occasion to have a good time with his wife? [mutinous sounding pause] hey, hey--none of that. I've decided that you and I haven't been having enough fun lately. So when I heard I had the rest of the afternoon off I said to myself--Sally: self--Catlin: I said: self, get on that phone, and THREATEN, CAJOLE [nice word], do whatever it takes to convince Clarice to make a surprise picnic basket. And -- Sally: oh, Clarice, always a sucker for a good romance. Catlin: ah, and what of romance, one of the best of all times. You know, when I told Clarice my idea she started rattling off the names of all the stuff she was going to make. We have enough food in here for two weeks. Sally: I believe you. Catlin: oh! And I just happen to pick out one of the finest bottles of wine in all Bay City. [I'd be suspicious. I thought all fine wine grew in Donna's cellar. I expected him to say he'd snookered it.] Sally: ah, trying to sweep me off my feet, huh? Catlin: absolutely. Kissing. Sally: you ARE in a good mood. Catlin: oh, why shouldn't I be? Sally: honey -- Catlin: hey, hey, hey, wait, wait. No talking about you know who or you know what. Sally: that's all we've talked about for months. What else is there? Catlin: well, I'll think of something else [musical interlude having nothing to do with the issue at hand: those who rule with wisdom guiding bring to hearts a peace abiding] I missed you. Kissing. Sally: I missed you too. Kissing. Catlin: [very much sotto voce] come here. Sally: wait, what are you doing? Catlin: well, maybe before the picnic gets under way -- Sally: Cat, wait a minute, put me down. Catlin: why? You don't mean that. Sally: yes, put me down, please. We're not going to bed. [I cheered. If she's not going to have any fun this is certainly a start.] Catlin: it's been a long time. [three weeks and a day. Nothing compared to March break to December 4th.] I miss you. Sally: I miss you too. But -- Catlin: but what? Sally: I don't know. I feel funny. [musical interlude: I feel dizzy. I feel funny. I feel dizzy and funny and FINE and so pretty Miss America can just resign.] Catlin: you're not sick or anything -- [it would be too mean of her to be pregnant and leave the successor to finish it off.] Sally: no, I mean I feel funny about making love. Catlin: I don't understand. [Ich verstehe nicht. Je ne comprends pas.] Sally: I don't understand either. I think it's our living arrangement. It's making me kind of crazy. Catlin: well, I know how to fix it -- Sally: no, I mean it honey, I -- really, I can't. Catlin: baby, you know why I'm not living here. We both agreed it would be easier for you and Kevin. Sally: I know, well it's not working out that way. Catlin: no? Sally: NO. Every time you and I have a discussion around him I'm the one who ends up answering all of his questions about it. Catlin: I know that. Sally: and he's asking some pretty tough ones and I've frankly run out of answers. Catlin: well, what else? Sally: um -- I didn't want to get into all this. I'm just going to sound like I'm -- Catlin: NO, come on, you've got to get it off your chest. Sally: all right -- I think Brittany is controlling our lives. She holds all the cards. Catlin: no. She's not doing that. Sally: OVER and OVER again, I find myself in the losing position. Like with this: if I say NO, you think I'm punishing you for moving out and choosing Brittany over Kevin and me -- Catlin: I did not choose Brittany over you and Kevin -- Sally: if I say YES and we do make love -- even though everything inside me (I feel like we should take inventory -- the little liver, and the spleen, and the lungs, etc.) is screaming NO [in chorus] -- Catlin: wait. I don't want you to do anything against your will. Sally: well, if you really mean that then stop making me live alone without the man I married. I'm sorry but that's the way I feel. Catlin: you know, I'm doing the best I can if you don't want to be close to me -- FINE. Sally: YES, I want to be close to you. I want you so much I can hardly stand it. I love you, and I need you. Just hold me, OK, please? [He did just that.] Catlin: I love you, baby. [Does Sally mean tell Brittany to boil her head or just move back unconditionally?]

Kevin and Brittany picnicking. She plied him with sodas which Sally doesn't like him to have often but he thinks one would be all right. "Brittany ... what's the sign for airplane pilot?/because I want to be an airplane pilot when I grow up. /well I wanted to be a cowboy. But CATLIN SAID, airplane pilots get to GO places. Like Ireland, where he and Sally went, for FREE. [the pilots, not the Ewings.]/--on their honeymoon." he likes signing but he'd like it if she could talk too. He asked if she'd always been deaf.

Felicia pried into Zane and Britt's relationship, naughty girl. He said they were friends. [they very wickedly began the conversation with "Oh, come on. I mean you must have SOME feelings for her." "I didn't have her long enough to become attached to her." "After all you went through together? Aw. I just don't believe you. You're trying to be stoic, aren't you?" they were discussing the boat, natch, but it sounds like we're meant to think Britt.] Zane's attributes in Felicia's eyes [after cheery banter]: doesn't take himself seriously, very handsome. What's not to like? she said. She gave him a bunch of 1st editions of her novels to help him reach the romantic potential of a man called Zane. [Once steeped in Gallant romance he can take on the world.] she likes him. He likes her. Glad they met.

Dee thinks they should get on a game show and win furniture. Tom thinks Carter's acting funny. Dee thinks graduation's on his mind. Tom's worried he's bored with married life. Dee's not. She told Tom about Carter's potential Plains Motel job. Tom still thinks something's wrong. She went to nap. Dee muttered to herself if Carter didn't tell her she would.

Catlin and Sally went to the Corys to pick up Kevin. Sally offered to send Catlin home with Kevin and stay and talk but Nancy said no. Sally asked where Kevin was. Nancy: They went on a picnic. Sally: Oh, how sweet. Catlin: Must be something in the air. Sally: Let's go look at them. I want to see him play with Amanda and Matthew. [I don't suppose, Sally, that you'd care to have people observing your picnics.] Nancy: Oh, no, Amanda and Matthew didn't go. Brittany took him. Sally came unhinged. Catlin said warningly several times "Sally" and Nancy said they hadn't gone far and got flustered. Kevin came in. Weird music. Commercial. Kevin asked what was wrong. Sally said she was just a little surprised she'd thought he was going to play with AMANDA AND MATTHEW. He said Amanda was doing girl stuff. Nancy was wretchedly apologizing but Catlin said in his warning voice "It's OK. Sally was just a little surprised, WEREN'T YOU, SALLY." Nancy took Kevin to get his toys. Sally said a whole bunch of bitchy things she thought Britt couldn't hear. Catlin tried to keep the peace. Sally think she's trying to take Kevin. Catlin said he wanted Britt to be happy and SO DID SHE and she couldn't come down on her for being nice. Sally said they'd play it HIS WAY a while longer. He said it wasn't HIS WAY and she said she'd said OKAY. She thanked Britt for taking care of Kevin. She left. Catlin told Brittany everything was okay.

Both girls are fine but we won't know if the transplant was successful for a bit. Situation hopeful. Donna is to be let to look in on them for a minute.

Zane went the stables. Britt doesn't seem to like Felicia 'tho she's seen very little of her. He asked what would happen if Catlin found out accidentally and advised her to get it over with. She said she would.

Carter told Tom he loved her with all his heart. She asked what was wrong. We touched on work and money and parties. He confessed about the trig final. (she thought he'd been having affairs) and said he wasn't graduating.

Donna was terribly kind to Victoria. She thanked her for what she'd done. Victoria the still slightly groggy said "I had to. She's my sister."

Britt sounds so much better than she looks.

Why did Brittany want to talk to Sally?

"Are you sick?" "I don't know. How do girls usually react when you kiss them?" "They don't turn green." "Then I'm sick." "Everything was going so beautifully. Why did you have to eat that bread pudding?" OR "What will happen to our relationship if you get pneumonia?" "What will happen to it anyway if you don't shave?"
Across the Pacific

Sally frequently sounds as if she's recovering from a cold.

You know in all his years (2) in Bay City Perry never once had a sex scene whereas Catlin seemed to be having them within the hour following his arrival. And Victoria!
