ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

November 10, 1987

Scott was coy about the results of his bar exam.

Cass told Nicole only a coward would say no. She phoned M Dupannier and said yes. Cass cheered. She clonked him. He came on like Maurice Chevalier. She refused to marry him.

Michael said he and John had no secrets. Jamie said there was no doubt that Michael was the father. John's mouth twisted but he said Michael had always been their father and he was happy for him. He asked what about Donna. Michael said he didn't care about Donna. Jamie said he was sure that John's doctor had tampered with the results on purpose. [How much more amusing if John had been the one to have them altered and relied on That Old Carrot's reputation to shield him, except That Old Carrot would have felt immeasurably sorry for himself.] Michael went to have it out with That Old Carrot alone, because he no longer has a brother.

Dawn was excited when Scott finally admitted he'd passed. A party came down the stairs to help celebrate.

Cass told Nicole she needed the money. She said marriage was a big step. She asked what would happen if she fell in love with — someone. Cass didn't see the problem. She said they had to convince the world they were in love. He said they could make goo-goo eyes at each other in public and throw up at home. She said what if the goo-goo eyes started up at home, too. He accused her of being scared of marriage. She maintained [chin quivering] that she wasn't scared of anybody. She said the thought of this marriage made her sad, because she'd never been properly in love and she might forfeit the chance.

Chad and Cheryl and Mary and Vince congratulated Scott. Mary nearly burst with pride. Zack came in and regretted losing a clerk. [Scott as Henry. Ow.] Mary and Vince got along. Zack spoiled it by saying the divorce would go through tomorrow.

Victoria packed. That Old Carrot came by to pretend to be sympathetic. She told him she didn't want to be a part of his nasty little family. From now on it's only Michael. He told her John was her father. She accused him of lying. He said Michael was not her father. Enter Michael. "The hell I'm not." Victoria ranged herself with Michael. Michael showed her the two tests. That Old Carrot faltered a little and tried to salvage the situation, but Victoria said she was changing her name to Hudson. Michael forbade That Old Carrot to go near her.

Peter told Donna he was through with That Old Carrot now. She didn't care. He said he wanted to make it up to her. John showed up to announce that he was not paternal. He dared Peter to claim he hadn't known.

Cass tried to convince Nicole that she was being silly. She said marriage was sacred to her. He stared out the window. Nicole turned to look. He said the woman he'd seen had been scantily clad and got Nicole away from the window. He got her to consider his good points by admitting to faults.

Peter denied it. Donna was confused. John sent Peter to his room. Donna asked John how Michael had reacted. John said Michael had been happy. He was hurt when Donna was so pleased that the children were hers and Michael's, but she didn't notice. He advised her to patch it up with Michael. She said Michael couldn't forgive dishonesty. He said he'd have to get over it and advised her to fight for Michael. Victoria burst in.

Vince noticed Mary had been crying. She claimed it was over Scott. They hovered around the idea of not going through with the divorce, but neither would admit to wanting to call it off. Dawn put a quarter in the jukebox and danced with Scott. Cheryl watched wistfully and chatted with Chad. They agreed they wanted Dawn and Scott to be happy. Vince tried to get Mary to give him her opinion of Diane, but she said he could do whatever he wanted. Scott said goodbye and whisked Dawn away.

Nicole told Cass they'd have to share a room after they were married. A woman in a black dress listened at the door and hung her scarf over the doorknob across the hall. Cass left Nicole's room to go to his to shower for dinner. He found the scarf, sniffed it and said, "she IS here."

John left. Donna tried to cozy up to Victoria. Victoria told her she was going to go live with Michael.

Scott told Dawn he was at her disposal for the day. He told her he was in love with her.

Nicole found Cass in the hall. He held the scarf behind his back. Nicole: you're acting awfully strange. Cass: would you have me any other way? He claimed Zack had summoned him back to Bay City and he was leaving in the morning. She went back into her room. He held the scarf to his nose and said, "it has been much too long."

Michael collected Victoria. Donna tried to get to him with talk of paternity, but he said he'd always known Victoria had the right father, but she had the wrong mother.
