ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 10, 1985

Music. MJ: Kathleen. Kathleen. Kathleeeen. Kathleen: Oh. 's you.

Mac and Rachel want Carl out of their lives.

Carl appreciates Wendy. He's on the phone to Emily-hunters. The great Love fortune is about to dwindle. (I guess maybe I shouldn't marry him.) (Him Peter. A dwindling Love.)

Peter's looking for something linking Carl to Emily. He told Donna what he told Carl yesterday, viz. He'd kill him. Donna: Darling, it is unlike you to be so rash. Perry says it's good to have Peter back. He told him about Mac and Carl and Nancy. (Say, Peter doesn't know Catlin and Sally are engaged. Not that he cares.) Peter says he knows naught of Emily.

Carl: Discretion in all things, Wendy.

Mac loves watching Rachel sleep. (It's Ross and Sally ALL OVER AGAIN.) They're discussing their children.

Catlin: I feel bad about mooching breakfast every morning. Sally: MOOCHING, you're not mooching, we invited you. Catlin: I know, but still -- Sally: Still nothing. I love cooking for you. (Since when can this girl cook? She certainly couldn't when she floored him.) I want to cook for you from now on, breakfast in bed every day. (Kissing.) Catlin: Come here. Sally: No-o, don't you have to get to the Academy --? Catlin: Yeah, I guess so. Sally: You guess so? Catlin: No, I do, I do. Sally: What's wrong? Catlin: Nothing. Everything's great. Sally: Is it the Academy? Catlin: No, the Academy's fine. Just a couple of officers down there, they really get on my case. Sally: 'bout what? Catlin: 'mong other things, Larry. They ride me for having a brother on the force who's pulling strings for me. Sally: Well, have you talked to Larry about that? Catlin: NO, baby, I couldn't do that. It'd just prove that they're right. Sally: Well, you've got to get them to stop it. Catlin: I can handle it. Sally: NO, honey, you should be able to talk to somebody. What about that captain, what's his name, Captain -- Catlin: Delaney. Sally: Delaney. Catlin: No, it's not that bad, I'm making more of it than it is, you know my temper. Sally: Well, I also know how hard you've been working down there. Catlin: It'll be fine. EVERYTHING'LL WORK OUT. IT'LL BE GREAT. I DON'T KNOW WHY I BROUGHT IT UP IN THE FIRST PLACE, COME ON. UP AND AT 'EM. Sally: Wait, no, you can pull out of this. It's not too late. Catlin: Not till I give it a chance. Sally: Honey, there are other jobs. Catlin: I know that. I figure I could make a good cop. Sally: The very best there is. (Kissing.) Catlin: well I'm not going to do it hanging around here. Sally: No, all you're going to do is get yourself in trouble. (Could it be that this is the trouble that brings the stork?) Catlin: That's right. And who needs trouble, huh? Sally: I don't know, who? (Kissing.) Catlin told her not to worry and everything would be fine and he left.

Kathleen is getting dressed for work. Kathleen: What about the red? It's always been my colour. MJ: Mmm. Kathleen: Yeah? Good. He's always liked this colour. MJ: Who? Kathleen: NEVER MIND. MJ: WHAT? Larry called from London. He has a positive ID on Emily Benson. Tell the Corys, he says.

Wallingford showed Kathleen I guess it's her office. She's got a nameplate as says President (Cass' idea). Cass arrived. He still suspects Tony's motives.

Peter: It's just so rare that you find somebody so totally corrupt, so completely evil. He's telling the Corys Carl must be stopped. They're trusting in Larry's London. Peter says he knows naught of Emily. MJ and Jamie dashed in with the news that Sandra Masters left Majorca the same day of the staggering. And Flynn was exhumed and found to be chock full of arsenic. Peter said that Emily couldn't be responsible because she was working for Dunning at the time. Wrongo said MJ (or words to that effect) she was on a 6 month leave of absence and was in fact the sole attendant of old Flynn. His nurse. MJ wants to confront Carl with their knowledge. Peter wants to go. So does Mac but they sat on his head. Peter was permitted. Jamie wants MJ to be safe and undead. She thinks he has no faith in her ability but he says he's just worried about her. Reassuring kiss. Jamie: Detective McKinnon, this could be construed as a bribe. MJ: You're corrupting me.

One of the other cadets has the most awful cramp. Catlin (when pain and anguish wring the brow, a ministering angel thou!) was helpful. The sergeant in charge raved about our man of medicine and told him to mind his own business and shut up. I guess that told him.

Cass: Okay. That's it for makeup. Kathleen: You know, it's incredible. A month ago you didn't even know how to apply eyeliner, and -- what makes you an expert all of a sudden? Cass: Trial and error. Wallingford: Mostly error. Kathleen: Are you kidding, Wallingford? That is the best chapter I have ever read about makeup. Now let's get to the good parts. What's next. Cass: Uh -- Body Language: Uses and Abuses. Wallingford: Okay. In my opinion, there's not enough sex in it. Cass: Wallingford, you wanted more sex in the chapter on giving parties. (And you, my dear Winthrop, wanted more sex in a book that turned out to be about your sister.) Wallingford: Well, Cass, there are parties, and then there are parties. Besides, sex sells. Cass: Well we're not selling it here. We're trying to simply write a book about women (etc. Etc. Wallingford gave up and said they could be editors and he'd be gopher.) Wallingford left. Kathleen and Cass took a break. She thanked him for the nameplate. He forgave her for having him arrested. (She dropped the charges.) She said he had integrity, citing as an example the way in which he stayed behind for her and Sally instead of running off with Cecile. He sloughed it off and turned to a chapter on eyes. She offered her eyes but he was oblivious.

Cadets given a break. Catlin and the dying man are to set up the mats. The dying man is not to lie down. The discussed the horrible sergeant. The dying man's thinking of giving up. Catlin told him not to just because of that jerk.

Hair. Don't worry about current styles. Enhance your own style. Wot is attractive is blowing in the wind and falling on the pillow and we're going to use Kathleen's spectacular hair wot blew so nice in the Mediterranean breeze on the balcony and would no doubt look lovely on a pillow. Wallingford returned. Kathleen's cold. Cass is a little warm, actually. She wants a fire. (I guess they'll find Cass' babies as Nell predicted only today.) She gets a fire.

Jamie's worried about MJ and snappish.

Carl denied all. MJ confronted him with actual evidence about Flynn. Contract with him. Carl professes not to remember. He knows Emily not. Peter told Carl he knew Emily was taking orders from him.

Catlin told a lieutenant he knew what he was trying to do. And he said he didn't realise just how much he wanted to be a cop until he was continually heckled etc. The lieutenant was unmoved. I'm so sick.

Cass' Dominique showed up. She called him cheri (pronouncing it rather too much like sherry for my taste). They're going to dinner.

Carl summoned Wendy. She said no warrant, no chat. Bye-bye Peter.

Emily called Carl. He asked where she was. Emily: Surprised to hear from me? You knew I'd be back.
