ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 10, 1987

Donna said they'd towed her car. MJ came up, crying a little, and ran into Cass. He offered himself as a substitute big sister.

Vince blamed Adam. Mary advised him not to jump to conclusions. She warned him he'd drive MJ away.

Felicia dropped in on Mitch. He rather half-heartedly claimed to be swamped. She suggested he come upstairs to help with a problem. He said they had to come downstairs afterwards. They went out. A man in a red shirt let himself into Mitch's apartment.

Donna just can't cope with being towed and retrieving her car. John said he'd drive her home. She said it wasn't necessary. He took the phone from her and said he'd had his car fixed. He accused her of being afraid to ride in his car. Naturally she had to prove she wasn't. Felicia showed Matthew to Mitch. Mitch told him it was very late for him to be out. Matthew said he had woman problems. Cass and MJ talked. He said they both had to start again.

Vince said MJ needed guidance. Mary said MJ was entitled to make her own decisions. This is not the time to pound sense into her. She needs to be loved and not judged. Mary told Vince to stop blaming Adam so much. Vince was unmoved. Mary pled.

Without knowing exactly what was going on, Cass suggested MJ might do well to give Vince a little time before dropping her bombshell. He declared himself her big brother. (He keeps calling her 'kid'. KID?) They left together. Susie Strathmore refused to be Matthew's date for the party. She thinks he's a nerd because he can't dance. Felicia said his dad could help him.

Red Shirt made himself at home. He found a lot of pictures of Felicia.

The air conditioning at the Love mansion is broken. Donna bitched and drank lemonade. She accused John of driving like a maniac. He smirked and told her to admit she liked it. (This is exactly the sort of attitude that got him where he is today.) He drank from her lemonade and was extremely offensive. She snatched her glass back and poured herself some more. She said she thought she'd call Michael. John smiled nastily, as if he knew himself the victor.

Victoria met That Old Carrot at Tops. They chatted. She brought him up short when he made snide remarks about the Hudsons. He claimed to have given her away for her own good. He had that deranged zealot look in his eye. Matthew has never heard of Dick Clark or American Bandstand. Matthew is against dancing and touching at the same time.

Red Shirt took a little money from Mitch's wallet and sat down with a bag of pretzels.

Vince calmed down. He told Mary he wouldn't interfere. MJ came in with Cass and said she hadn't quit the force because of Adam.

Donna couldn't get through to Michael.

MJ told Vince she had to talk about this alone. Mary interrupted with inconsequential chatter about the journal. She got Vince to apologise for yelling at MJ. He told her he loved her and would stick by her regardless. MJ told Mary it was no use and she had decided to tell Vince tonight. Cass took Mary aside. Mary beseeched MJ not to tell.

Red Shirt disrobed.

Felicia ran into Mitch outside his door.

Victoria told That Old Carrot that even wonderful Bridget was not the same as a real mother. He said he'd picked Bridget specially for her. (What of GRACE AND PHILIP CARSON, who died? GRRR.) He told her Donna had always been very self-centred. Victoria said that had changed. (Oh, come. Isn't this stretching credibility a bit far?) He told her he wanted her to be happy. She accused him of wanting to cause trouble between Michael and Donna. He said he wouldn't be the cause of any trouble between them.

Donna drank lemonade and stared at John. He drank beer and watched her press her cold glass to her cleavage. He stepped toward her. She went into her room and closed the door. He went into his room. She put on a tape and began to undress. John removed his shirt and fell down on his bed. Then he gazed out the window. Donna lay on her bed. She got up and looked into the hall. She left her door open and gazed at a photograph of Michael.

Victoria informed That Old Carrot that he wouldn't come between her and anyone. She accused him of having neglected her while she was growing up. Progress reports are not enough. It was stupid. She rushed out.

Mitch and Felicia went into his room, engrossed in each other. Kissing.

MJ told Mary she needed to tell Vince, even if he didn't need to hear it. She said it was about why she'd left the force and why Adam had refused to marry her. Vince was all ears. He refused to believe it could be that bad. She said it was.

Mitch began undressing Felicia. They sat down on the bed and landed on Red Shirt.

John opened his door and watched Donna trying to cool off by holding the glass against various parts of her body.
