ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

September 9, 1987

Mitch came up to Tops with a severe expression on his face and -- Felicia's present? in his hand.

Jamie introduced Victoria to Lisa. Victoria told her Jamie knew nothing about fixing cars, however much he knew about delivering twins.

Michael and Donna made the most of it. John burst in on them. Donna looked as though she had been caught doing something she shouldn't have been. John apologised and tried to leave. Michael was willing to talk if he wanted, but John got away.

Sam, having been poisoned with respect to his mind by Rachel, decided Amanda was flip. He failed to apologise for having forgotten and come late. She told him she wanted the job. He said he needed someone in a high position at Brava to vouch for her.

Victoria said Jamie had flooded his engine. Lisa said, "I thought only GIRLS did that," as if maybe Jamie had been walking around shooting off his mouth a little. (I can start a flooded engine.) Lisa was interested to hear Victoria was a twin. Victoria left. Mac called to ask Jamie to look at Rachel's hand.

Mitch brought ice for Rachel's hand. He helped Mac get her into the elevator. Mitch stared at Cass. Felicia told him they were only dancing. Mitch insisted he didn't care.

Amanda refused to use Mac as a reference. Sam asked to see her résumé. She said she'd get it to him. He said she could go. She was not able to retrieve her offensive note. She left, having recommended Gino & Dominic's to him. I think he found the note.

Amanda phoned Julie Ann and told her to meet her at Gino & Dominic's immediately for an emergency.

Michael and Donna returned to the house. Peter found them embracing in the drawing room. He tried to carry on a conversation with them. They decided to go upstairs to bed. Peter begged them to stay and chat. Enter Victoria. Donna asked where she'd been. Victoria explained she'd taken Jamie to the hospital. Michael pointed out that was impossible, since she didn't have a car. Donna admitted she'd bought it for her. Victoria is still in debt. However, and we should not be rewarding her. Peter tried to intercede on her behalf, and Michael turned on him, and Victoria got fed up and returned the car keys to Donna. She stalked out.

Mac took Rachel to the hospital. (Have you ever seen a hospital with PURPLE WALLS? Well, mauvey. Where it was once brownish to match the Arizona airport, the hospital now looks like Tops. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.) She denies she's drunk. Jamie looked at her arm.

Michael and Peter argued. Donna tried to mediate. Ooh, Peter scored a point. Michael said he would deal with his children as he saw fit because he knew what was right for them. Peter said that was what That Old Carrot said. Then he went to bed. Michael asked Donna why she hadn't told him about the car. He wants to be included in decisions. He asked if she had some other Reason for giving Victoria a car. Donna said she wanted to show her she loved her. Michael advised her to be less extravagant in her affection.

John came across Victoria on the terrace.

Rachel is not very lucid.

Amanda wants Julie Ann to help her make a résumé. She filched good ones from the files. She's expecting Sam since he asked her where there was a good pizza place. (You know, Amanda is taking advantage of being a Cory by ditching college, relying on her family relationship to qualify her. Shame.)

Enter Sam. Amanda turned around and bumped into him. He did not look friendly.

Cass said goodnight to Mitch and Felicia. He's going to attend a poker game, Wally's weekly, strictly legit. When he had gone, Mitch gave Felicia her surprise. She opened the box and found a beautiful bracelet. It's not exactly like the one that was stolen. He had to slip out and buy it during the party. Felicia appreciated it. They danced alone in Tops. Cass stood in the shadows and looked at them murderously.

Sam asked Amanda why she'd written 'arrogant pig' on his drawing board. He let on he didn't think she was capable. Amanda returned to her table, determined to manufacture the résumé of a capable person.

Donna begged Michael to let Victoria keep the car. She promised in exchange not to keep secrets.

Victoria is generally bitter. John told her Donna loved her. They looked through the French doors at Michael and Donna. Victoria watched John watch Michael kiss Donna's hand.

Amanda ordered Sam a beer. He told her to give it a rest. She's determined to show him.

Jamie bound up Rachel's hand. Mac took her home. Jamie told Lisa that Victoria had been separated from her twin at birth. He fell asleep in her lap.

Donna turned out the light.

John turned away from the window. Victoria told him Michael really loved Donna. John walked off into the night.

Michael carried Donna up to bed.

Victoria wept for her father.
