ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 9, 1988

Sam couldn't see to crack an egg. Can't he do things by feel? Amanda helped him clean it up. Then he missed the coffee pot. Amanda suggested they forget about breakfast and go back to bed. Mac and Rachel dropped by.

Michael and Donna are going to go all over Europe on their honeymoon. Vicky phoned and insisted Michael meet her secretly immediately.

Jamie thought about bending Vicky backward over the kitchen table. Jason came in and saw Jamie's suitcase. Jamie told him he was going home. Jason refused to let him go back to mama. Jamie told him not to tell him what to do. Jason put in a plea for his name. He told Jamie going back to the Corys would take some life out of him [Jamie].

Michael rushed over to Vicky's and went absolutely crazy when he thought Vicky's emergency hadn't emerged, so to speak. She asked to borrow Bridget and produced Mikey, explaining that she hadn't wanted to upset Donna. She said she wanted to take responsibility. Mary came over. She warned Vicky her custody wasn't permanent because Mikey should have two parents.

Mac found out from the TV news that Cory was in crisis. He and Amanda rushed off. Sam bestirred himself to be a good host to Rachel, who noticed he was fumbling. She realized he had trouble with his vision [recall her own blindness]. He confessed he was scared. Rachel was supportive. He told her not to tell Amanda. She agreed on condition that he cling to Jamie. Amanda returned from Vicky's. Rachel left.

Michael played peekaboo with Mikey and disengaged himself reluctantly to attend his honeymoon. Mary told Vicky about the hospital's new wing and the quest for a chief of staff. Vicky looked thoughtful. She told Mary she owned the hospital and could guarantee the hospice would happen. Mary was bowled over.

Cory was in an uproar. Liz berated Cass for neglecting Nicole. Cass told her to mind her own business. Mac stomped in in a rage.

When Jamie dropped by Vicky was clad only in a towel. He told her that what had happened could never happen again. Vicky asked Jamie if he'd be interested in heading up the hospice. He said he would be but he didn't have a shot. She told him she owned the hospital. She made overtures. He perceived a bribe and left indignantly.

Rachel soothed Mac.

Vicky told Bridget about Mikey. They'll move into the suite during the honeymoon. Vicky underlined the importance of not telling Donna about Mikey. Bridget froze. Vicky motioned to her to hide a stuffed rabbit so Donna wouldn't see it. Donna said she wanted to see Marley. Vicky said Marley wasn't there. Bridget finally took the hint and grabbed the rabbit. Donna said she'd wait for Marley. Vicky said she and Bridget were going shopping. She managed to get rid of Donna.

Sam and Amanda did the dishes. Sam has come around to liking Mac. Amanda wishes they could help with fighting the takeover.

Mac didn't want to believe the takeover was coming from within. His board meeting didn't meet — nobody came. Mac sent Cass home. Rachel comforted Mac.

Jamie asked Mary to give Jason a chance to construct the hospice wing. She made sure he knew she couldn't stand Jason but she didn't refuse to consider him. Vicky phoned to apologise to Jamie for her earlier behaviour. He forgave her.

Cass complemented Donna. She liked his flowers but he said they were for Nicole, whom he was supposed to meet there. Michael swooped in and said he had intended to have some fun with his bride but there was Cass and a whole lot of furniture on the bed. Donna said it was luggage. Cass apologized for existing. Sophie phoned to talk to Cass. After he heard what she had to say he gave the flowers to Donna after all.

Jamie phoned Jason and told him he'd talked to a member of the hospice board about his constructing the wing. Jason: who is this stuffed shirt I've got to unstuff? Jamie: Mary McKinnon. Jason looked interested.

Rachel refused to leave Mac. Sam and Amanda came to help.

Vicky played with Mikey and the bunny. Mikey felt her face.

Mary dropped by the farm and told Jason she didn't think she could recommend his company. She left.

Mac's elves made phone calls. To the board members, I suppose. They called in favours and each used his or her own field of expertise to influence people. Mac ceased to despair.
