Amanda checked who was at the door before opening it. She realised it would be difficult to explain to Sam what she was doing at the Romance at that hour.
Vince told Ada he wanted to get the divorce over with. Enter Mary.
Jamie said there was some irregularity in Victoria's brainwaves. (NO KIDDING.) That Old Carrot tried to blame the youth of the doctor. Jamie said there was hope, but Victoria's condition is critical. Everyone except Michael and Donna might as well go home. Nicole refused to go. Peter took Bridget home. That Old Carrot insisted he be informed of any change.
Ada assured Mary there was no awkwardness in her being there with Vince there. Enter Zack. Mary said since she was there she could sign her papers. Ada and Zack asked if they were both 100% certain.
Amanda elected to keep up the alter-ego, so she hid while Rachel let Sam in. Sam glanced at the column. He really liked what Amanda had done, of course. Amanda knocked a vase over (by accident) when Sam told Rachel that Joyce was special. He heard the noise but Rachel assured him it was nothing. Sam got going. Amanda insisted there was nothing serious between Sam and Janet and she [Janet] was exactly what he deserved.
Vince and Mary refused to discuss it. They have to wait to sign the papers until a time when Ada has her notary stamp. Zack went home. Ada tried to talk sense to Vince and Mary. She left them alone with strict instructions to talk.
Michael and Donna went in to look at Victoria. They spoke encouraging words to her unconscious form. Michael said how much he wished he'd been her daddy when she was a child. Donna wept and looked sulky when she caught sight of John outside.
Rachel said she thought it was nice Sam had a girlfriend. Amanda said it didn't bother her. Rachel asked why he couldn't know who she was.
Joyce watched Sam work. Mitch arrived and told Joyce he and Sam were more than friends. She ran out for Mexican food. Mitch told Sam it bothered him that he couldn't tell people he was his brother. Sam said he wanted to keep his job. Mitch said he didn't want the Corys keeping him from what little family he has.
Mary and Vince were awkwardly civil. They discussed Victoria's accident. They were feeling close as Kathleen's parents when Diane burst in and addressed Vince as sweetheart.
Victoria began to jerk. Michael yelled for a nurse, who yelled for Jamie. Jamie sent Donna and Michael outside. John said that convulsions with a head injury were not unusual. Donna's afraid Victoria will die. Jamie came out to say things were not good. Perhaps a coma. Donna took off.
Amanda said she wanted to keep her job. She assured Rachel she'd tell Sam eventually. Rachel went to bed. Amanda decided to go over to Sam's to help.
Mary took her papers and left Diane a clear field. Vince poured them a couple of beers so they could drink to his divorce.
Outside Mary looked unhappy.
Donna went to the chapel to beg forgiveness. Michael found her sobbing and knelt with her.
Sam agreed to make their relationship public. Amanda arrived. Sam stalled her while he asked Mitch to leave by the fire escape so it wouldn't be all over the office right away. Mitch obliged. Sam let Amanda in. She criticised his choice of lead photo.
Diane advised Vince to let go of the past. She persuaded him to sign the divorce papers right away. When he did she kissed him. Ada disapproved.
John refused to go home. Jamie said one parent could go in at a time. Donna was left with John.
Naturally Amanda's input was wonderful. She's invaluable. Enter Joyce. She was unthrilled to see Amanda. Amanda left. Sam was oblivious to any tension.
Donna blamed herself. She said she deserved to suffer instead of Victoria.
Michael told Victoria he loved her more than anyone. He held her hand. He told her to hang on.
