ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

October 7, 1987

Dawn is looking for a piano. She told Scott she would persuade Chad to let her sing in Tops. Chad overheard and put his foot down.

Amanda and Rachel pretended that Amanda had been delivering a file to Rachel. Sam suspected Amanda of following him.

Michael listened eagerly. Donna and John looked apprehensive. Victoria struggled but was unable to say anything. Jamie took her into the OR. Michael assured Mitch and Felicia there was no need for them to wait. Cass told Nicole he'd take care of the fashion show. Michael brooded in circles. John told him not to blame himself because he hadn't reacted to the speeding ticket in a way that would have prevented this.

Chad told Dawn she was too good for Tops. (We wouldn't want her to grow up to be anything as lowly as Crystal Gayle, now would we?) Scott insisted that this discussion was his business (he kept interjecting helpful stories about Walter Gershwin) since he was Dawn's lawyer. Dawn dimpled.

Amanda keeps calling Joyce Janet. She gave Rachel the folder and left. Rachel told Sam she would have to ruin his dinner because she wanted to switch her column in order to run a review of the controversial "Under the Underground" Elinor Tarses. She offered to pay for Sam and Janet's dinner. (Sam and Janet Evening.) Rachel went to assemble her stuff. Amanda watched Sam and Joyce dance.

Michael consoled Donna. Peter stared at That Old Carrot reproachfully. Michael told That Old Carrot to leave. That Old Carrot blamed him for Victoria's accident.

Scott is a friendly lawyer. Dawn had him leave her alone with Chad. He said he had watched a friend's dreams die once and didn't want to watch hers go the same way. She insisted her dreams were indestructible. (For heaven's sake, Chad, the dreams didn't die because she applied for respectable singing gigs -- they died because YOU PIMPED HER OUT.)

Rachel finished her column. Amanda bitched about Joyce. Rachel had a couple of problems with the lead-in. Amanda just glanced at the article and fixed it.

Sam took delivery of Rachel's photographs at Tops. He apologised to Joyce because he has to work tonight. He decided to swing by Rachel's to pick up the column. He rushed past Mitch and Felicia at the elevator without admitting how fraternal things were. Mitch was upset.

John tried to make Michael feel better. He assured him he hadn't done anything wrong.

Peter tried to be nice to Donna and Nicole. He offered to drive Bridget home to fetch Donna's night things so she could wait at the hospital. Donna fretted.

Dawn told Chad he should let her make her own decisions. He kissed her and left.

That Old Carrot complained that no one would tell them anything about Victoria's condition. John took a phone call for the Hudsons. It was Marley, who addressed him as "Dad" by mistake. He was a little choked up. He gave her to Michael. She said she'd wait for Michael's call. Jamie came out of the OR.

Cass was secretive. Felicia scowled. Mitch complained about the secrecy involved in keeping his relationship to Sam a secret and went to put a stop to it.

Cass went out on the terrace and placed a cigarette (from a pack he'd found) between his lips. Enter Felicia.

Jamie said Victoria would make it, but then he had to go back to her for an emergency.

Scott wrote a letter to Chad for Dawn, requesting an audition for Deborah Davenport. They might have a shot if Chad doesn't know it's her until the last minute. She appreciated his help. He said he liked her a lot. She said it was mutual. They held hands.

Rachel was very impressed with Amanda. Sam rang the doorbell. Amanda went to get it.

Felicia told Cass he didn't smoke. He said he was just kidding. He lit it and then stomped it out. She refused one. She denied delving into the fashion show and said goodnight. She looked at him a little funny.

Jamie reappeared with bad news.
