ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 8, 1988

Felicia conferred with Roger the pianist. She told Mitch she was busy with the fashion show. Mitch told her he could wait.

Nicole made absurd demands of Barry the set designer. John showed up for work. She told him she was scared about the show. Cass overheard.

Amanda ran into Sam at Brava. He didn't want to discuss the Barringtons. She stomped into Mac's office and yelled at him for trying to send Sam away. He said he didn't want Sam to hurt her any more. She said she loved Sam. He said it was Sam's decision entirely.

Jason gave a loan officer lunch. That Old Carrot greeted her as an old friend. He was surprised to hear Jason intended to settle in Bay City. He retreated to his own table. Joanne Pettigrew told Jason that That Old Carrot owned the biggest bank in Bay City and there should be no problem with his [Jason's] mortgage, although he has only 10% down. That Old Carrot told his companion they should try to thwart Jason's plans.

Nicole assured Cass it was a momentary lapse. John left them to thrash things out about his design. Nicole had moved to the cappuccino bar. In order to show her the error of her ways, Cass pretended to be a wall. Nicole gazed at him. ["No, you're looking at me as if I were a person, but I'm not, I'm a wall."] He protested. Nicole continued to gaze. She deferred to his judgment. He said they would have to stop playing games because they wanted the same thing. She said she hoped so. He told her they were partners and she should confide in him, not John. Each one made concessions in the interests of harmony. Nicole gazed.

That Old Carrot doesn't want Jason in Bay City. Scott and Chad plotted to have Dawn's song published. That Old Carrot approached Scott to express sympathy. Chad left them alone. That Old Carrot offered money and help. Scott left, having refused. Felicia was only too happy to let Sam talk to Mitch.

Amanda told Jamie about Sam's job offer. She thinks Mac made certain the job was too good to turn down. She asked if he thought she should ask Sam to stay. She said she thought he'd stay if she asked, but she wanted him to want to stay. It suddenly occurred to her she knew nothing about being a mother.

Sam told Mitch he hadn't made-up his mind about Paris yet. Mitch told him he'd asked Felicia to marry him. He said he didn't think Mandy and Amanda were very different and asked if he wanted to be excluded from his child's life.

Cass quit Cory. He and Nicole told Mac good things about Amanda's article.

Jamie assured Jason he didn't mind his having the farm. He invited him to dinner tonight. Jason accepted.

Sam went to the library to look for books on paternity. He was furtive. Amanda used the card catalog instead of asking the librarian, and wound up bumping into Sam. He was embarrassed and claimed to be looking at books on French painters. She interpreted this as interest in Paris. She told him she wished Mac hadn't tried to send him away. He asked why. Unwilling to admit she loved him, she claimed she didn't want there to be a rift between her and Mac. He asked if she wanted him to go.

Mitch arranged flowers for Felicia. She felt uncomfortable and declined champagne. He looked hurt so she changed her mind. She felt pressured. She snapped at him and subsequently apologized. She assured him Zane had nothing to do with it — only she's a little afraid that if she marries him he'll keel over too, or something. He said he wouldn't rush her, but he wouldn't give up. He threatened to write her a poem. She munched a pensive cocktail wiener.

Amanda said it was his life and he had to make his own decision.

John hired a couple of guys to help him. Nicole brought her belongings over to live away from Cass. John helped drag the trunk upstairs.

Cass told Felicia he and Nicole were getting along. He found out his apartment was costing Felicia a bundle and decided to move into the design house.

Ms Pettigrew declined Jason's loan and refused to discuss it. Jason spotted That Old Carrot and told him he was going to get a lot more than he'd bargained for.
