Felicia grabbed her coat and hat and hysterically accused Cass of playing a trick on her. Cass yelled to get through to her. She broke down. Cass offered comfort.
Donna walked in on Bridget in Michael's apartment. Bridget looked guilty. Donna wondered where Michael was. Bridget fell to pieces and confessed all she knew.
Mary told Jason and Michael she was sure That Old Carrot had murdered his wife. She could see the gun in his hand.
It occurred to Felicia to tell Mitch. She walked out blindly. Cass went with her.
Donna considered the puzzle of Jason and Mary and Michael in her mother's room. She assured Bridget she was right to have told her. Vicky drifted in, a model of civility. She was interested to hear that Donna was putting her [Donna's] things into the guest room. Bridget was pleased to see them trying to get along.
Mary mentioned that she had also seen liquor and pills on the desk. The curtains were on fire. That Old Carrot had dragged Mary out of the room and told her that Elizabeth had killed herself and she had better run or be suspected of something. Jason turned away. He found a photo of Elizabeth in a drawer. Mary described the fire. Jason admitted he'd been bluffing all along to scare That Old Carrot.
Donna had a craving for sardines. She told Bridget Michael had lied to her and she didn't like it.
Felicia and Cass told Mitch. He embraced Felicia. She asked herself why she hadn't known about the heart condition. Cass left. Felicia wept.
That Old Carrot tried to cozy up to Vicky. She was not receptive. He tried to remind her that she didn't like Donna. She denied it. He hinted that Donna and Michael didn't love her. She walked away from him.
Michael returned home. Donna demanded to know what he had been doing in her mother's room.
Jason left Mary at Mary's Place. She fell into Vince's arms. He was concerned about her. She told him about her returning memory. He was delighted for her. He deduced that That Old Carrot had had her memory operated on.
Michael told Donna he'd been helping Mary. Donna was sensitive on the subject of her mother's room. Michael consoled her.
Cass talked to Nicole about Wally. He was upset that he hadn't gone to see him a day early. Nicole comforted him with rather too much fondling of his neck. Nicole looked like someone grieving vicariously and feeling smug that she could have such depth of feeling for someone she didn't really know. Cass recalled how he and Felicia and Wally had been great pals, in and out of scrapes together. He said they were his family and he hadn't envisioned being without Wally. He wept.
Michael coyly told Donna that she didn't have to sleep in the guest bedroom, just store her clothes there. I would like to report that he blushed as he cast his eyes down, but he didn't really. Donna said she didn't want to leave the guest bedroom until she was sure he was sure. She dissuaded him from yelling at Bridget. Vicky phoned in tears to report that Wallingford was dead.
Mary asked Vince to supplement her memory. He remembered she'd come home late and they'd had a fight and she'd gone to bed early. This was routine. In the morning she wanted to go to confession and he thought it was a good sign but then she died. She pointed out that they knew she'd intended to break it off with That Old Carrot. She remembered advising That Old Carrot to confess to the police. Vince was pleased to hear she knew she'd wanted to be with him.
Michael asked Vicky to come home. He told her about Mary's getting her memory back. That Old Carrot overheard Vicky repeating "Mary's getting her memory back?" incredulously.
Felicia couldn't sleep. Mitch let her talk about Wally. Fondly. He told her that Wally had said he'd always been on the outside until he met her. "She brought me uptown." Felicia wept some more. She said she'd never forget him. She regretted not having the chance to say goodbye.
