ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

June 6, 1988

Mary brought Lisa into her office. She suggested hypnosis to help Lisa help find Mikey's parents. Lisa refused.

Kevin and Matthew competed.

Rachel assured Amanda Ada would find Sam. Sam rushed in. Amanda assured him nothing had happened yet. Ronnie threw Rachel out. Rachel was first given custody of the stuffed giraffe. Sam helped Amanda into bed. The doctor came in. Amanda's dilated to 2cm. It'll be a while. Amanda's calmish.

Tracy admired the sunset. Kevin wants to enjoy the summer. He wants to meet girls. Tracy and Matthew said facetiously he was too shy. Kevin slunk off.

Lisa told Mary she thought hypnosis was kind of creepy and she didn't want to be any more psychic than she had to be. Mary backed off and asked about Jamie. Lisa said she didn't want to discuss it. Mary got a phone call informing her she had to go to the convention in Palm Beach. She wasn't thrilled.

Chris thanked John for hiring her. She promised to be good. He was noncommittal. She talked about tools. He told her she was going to be his secretary. She stared.

Mary cooked. Vince was pleasantly surprised. He saw the beautiful table she had set and asked what was up. She blurted out the whole convention story, cringing. He frowned seriously and produced a going away present.

Contractions 8 minutes apart. Ronnie suggested walking around.

Mac and Rachel fretted. Ada talked sense to them. Sam and Amanda strolled up. Amanda suffered another contraction. Mac worried horribly. Ronnie guided Amanda and Sam back to the birthing room, having advised everyone else to go home.

Chris let John have it. He was a pig. She was forced to take the demeaning job he had assigned her because she needed the money.

Vince had found out about the trip when the travel agent called. The present was sunglasses, suntan lotion, a racy novel, a Frank Sinatra tape, and a Walkman. The coup de grâce — he has his own ticket. She was thrilled.

The prospect of 6 - 12 hours' wait was not daunting enough to send Mac and Rachel home. Ada thought them foolish.

Tracy suggested Matthew phone the party line pretending to be Kevin to get Kevin a date. Matthew demurred. Kevin bounded up and suggested they go to Gino & Dominic's for pizza. Matthew said he wanted to wait to hear about Amanda. The Julians left. Matthew got on the phone as Captain Cool.

When John went up to Tops for a drink he was confronted with a female bartender. He reeled and made offensive remarks. Lisa bought him a drink. They chatted.

Ronnie was cheerfully efficient. Sam put Amanda back in bed and coached for all he was worth.

Matthew described Kevin for girls on the phone. The first was called Pom Pom, but she turned out to be too young. The second was a high school dropout called Chopper who aspired to join the Air Force. The third was Cheetah, an older woman. Divorced with three kids. He had a sexy fantasy about each, based on her code name, before finding out her defect. I am not entirely certain what was undesirable about Chopper.

John complained about women. Lisa told him it would be easier on everyone if men would give up oppressing. He said men were born leaders but they'd like to relax once in awhile. Lisa said women would like to lead once in awhile. She realized she had to toughen up.

Ada found Loretta and Mitch. She chatted with Rachel about being the mother of a person in labour. Joy and agony. Mac appeared with balloons and a stuffed elephant.

Captain Cool's interest was caught by a caller called Riviera. They agreed they were the only non-jerky people they'd heard tonight. [Boy, is she in for a shock.] We saw her hair and hands, so she must be important. She was sipping something with a twist of lime.

Ada won Mac over to her side. They forced Rachel to agree to come home. She went to say goodbye to Amanda.

Amanda breathed. Sam soothed. Ronnie went to find the doctor. Rachel burst in. She said they were going but they'd stay if they were wanted. She looked hopeful. Amanda sent her home. Rachel promised to return at the drop of a hat.
