ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 6, 1986

Donna pulled herself together sufficiently to greet Michael and say she felt faint.

Carter yelled at Tom over a phone call she got. He was interrupted by Lily's return.

Mac is meeting with an insurance investigator. He thinks the antiquities are still in Bay City somewhere. Neal overheard.

Vic is going out tonight and not seeing her father. She told Bridget she'd been trying to think more like Donna lately. She's suspicious because Marley found Michael so easily. Bridget's aghast.

Things are kind of awkward at Marley's. Donna stayed to chat and be civil. She thanked Ralph for calling her from the airport. Jake looked a bit peculiar at that. Donna wanted to leave. Marley was a little insane. She begged her not to go and asked Michael to stick around awhile. Jake was surprised that he hadn't any pressing commitments or other family. Ralph is wildly nice to Marley.

Neal bounded in pretending not to have eavesdropped. The insurance investigator left. Mac and Neal resumed their chess game. Neal tried to pump Mac about the insurance investigator's leads. Mac flipped out and confided that it was an inside job. He added "you're playing differently. You always make a direct assault. Now you're moving inside." Neal was mystified and concerned. Mac was terribly cryptic about the thief who would have to be someone he trusted. He made a stupid move and Neal cried "checkmate!" Mac snapped out of it. Fayez called. Neal called him sweetheart. Fayez said he had to come out to check out a break in security.

The Todds welcomed Lily rapturously. She's dying to see the baby but he's asleep. She went to freshen up. Carter yelled at Tom because she applied for a part time position at the hospital behind his back. He said the baby needed a mother. She thinks he's being a jerk. Lily returned. Carter stomped out. Lily asked to be taken into Tom's confidence.

Ramirez a guard with a moustache has deserted. Neal went out looking for him in the bars at the waterfront with a gun.

Marley showed photographs. Jake said she looked beat and Michael said he was tired and he'd go. Marley got Donna to invite Michael to stay in the gatehouse. Ralph was all for it. Marley means to spend the day with him tomorrow. He's looking forward to it. Marley's thrilled. Donna and Ralph left. Marley nearly died of rapture and embraced Jake who is still noticeably strange.

Ralph was relieved to find Victoria was out. Donna told him he couldn't have a drink. He feels awful about deceiving sweet Marley. She gave in. Donna is afraid Jake will get suspicious. Ralph likes him.

Marley raved about Michael. Jake tried to keep her calm. He said they [Donna and Michael] were both very lucky to have her. She asked what was wrong.

Victoria saw Neal in one of them bars and had him sit with her. She thinks he seems jumpy, He asked what she was doing the rest of her life. She rolled her eyes. "So what are you going to do next, ask me my sign?" "I don't have to. Cancer." "What?" "Well I'm right, right?" "Now how would you know what my sign is?" "Well one look at you and an image came to mind — the crab." He was abstracted for a bit. She's drinking club soda. She accused him of ogling a blonde over yonder [said blonde is being chatted up by a moustache, presumably Ramirez.] "don't kid yourself. I can't stand blondes." Ramirez left in a hurry. Neal followed and attacked him in the alley.

Jake doesn't think Michael is interested enough in Marley. He doesn't want her to get hurt. She wants him to stick with her on this. She loves him. Kissing.

Tom's worried about Carter who is following in Grant's footsteps with his strange working. Lily told her she was doing the right thing about the lab job. Lily: now did you see Carter worrying and wringing his hands when he was practicing 90,000 hours a week? Tom: no, but — Lily: if you say "but he's the man" I'm going to take this chair and knock you upside the head. Tom: no, I was going to say "but he supports us". Lily: well what are you going to do with the lab money, bet it on the ponies? She convinced Tom she was right. Lily intends to yell at Carter for her. She wants to see the baby. He's adorable.

Jake has to go. He and Marley are both nuts. She doesn't want him to leave. She wants to wait until things are settled before asking Michael to give her away. He said something about not needing the studio and she said they were going to be extremely rich. Jake: no, you are going to be extremely rich. Marley: my first grade teacher taught me that you should always share. Jake: yes well I'm going to have my own rich. I don't want to be a part of your crummy old rich. He said he had an idea and clapped his hand over his mouth maddening her no end. He'd like to set the Plains Motel up again and make money. She said the best part was she could fulfill her life's dream of becoming a go-go dancer.

Lily hit the Northwoods Inn to hit Carter. He's suffering remorse already. She told him she loved him and he was wrong. If he forbids Tom this will ruin their marriage. She needs something herself. She told him his father had the guts to admit he was wrong.

Neal ordered Ramirez shut up in solitary. Fayez wanted to kill him. Neal forbade it.

Wally and Lily were thrilled to see each other. She's got to leave in a couple of days for Europe. They miss Grant. Felicia & Zane have gone ice fishing. He demanded a song. She obliged. ["you got a friend."]

Donna told Ralph he had to start pulling away. He said that it would kill Marley. She wants him to take off in a couple of days and leave her to explain. He is unhappy. She refuses to let Michael take Marley away from her. Ralph is under her thumb. Donna warned him to be careful of Victoria. Enter Victoria not wanting to keep dear old daddy waiting.

Carter told Tom he'd been wrong and he was sorry. Everything's alright.

Marley's going to have a Garrison reunion tomorrow.

Victoria is "overcome with emotion". She embraced her parents and kissed them. Just one big happy family.
