Marley told Catlin she'd meet them at the airport. She's really excited. She doubts Donna will be as thrilled.
Ralph called Donna and told her the Ewing guy had found him and was on the other phone with Marcia [he seems such a nice man. Donna is too awful for having involved him]. He's panicked because he doubts he's up on the details of Michael's life. She told him not to worry. Enter Peter.
More roses came for Kathleen from Cass. She told MJ she was going to California. MJ "Are you off your trolley?" Kathleen needs a change. MJ is mad at Edouard. Kathleen assured her she wasn't in love with him. MJ is on Cass' side.
Donna told Peter it had been Marley on the phone. She can't understand why Marley is willing to hurt her. She asked where Brittany was and when he said they didn't see each other every evening she said it was because she had to leave time for Catlin. He wants her to have a life of her own. She's out of touch with reality. They argued. He went to the library.
Jake and Marley made plans for dinner and Michael's Übernachten. She got a little too panicked so Jake assured her she was lovable. She said he was prejudiced. He attacked her on the couch and she said "I wonder if we have any scouring powder." She's worried about telling Donna and Victoria. He offered to go to the mansion as moral support while she told Donna. She doesn't want Donna to be upset by his mere presence. He suggested she tell Victoria now and Donna later. She called and got Donna. Donna told her Victoria was out. Marley said she'd call back.
The McKinnon house is overflowing with flowers. Cass called. Kathleen is as usual. After frantic signalling MJ was induced to say she [Kathleen] was taking a nap. Kathleen says it won't be easy to tell Cass about California.
Jake is a very reassuring person. He told Marley he'd do her shopping. She got worried that Michael might be a vegetarian. Jake calmed her down. Jake joked about how he [Michael] might like her so much that he [ Jake] wouldn't be good enough for her and he and Donna would be united against him. She said she wouldn't care.
Neal pretended to be talking to a mechanic instead of Fayez when Mac walked in. He asked Mac if he were OK. Mac said [rather irritably] that he was fine [Neal was actually going in fuzzy circles]. He asked why Neal was really in Bay City. Neal told him he loved him and Rachel a bunch and wanted to settle down.
Edouard gave Cass power of attorney to sell the Chapin estate. He wished him the best of luck with his trial and said he'd testify if they wanted him. Cass remarked upon his tendency to say "we" when referring to California and asked if Michaud were joining him. Edouard was surprised and strange that Kathleen hadn't told him. Cass was stricken.
Ralph made awkward conversation with our detective chump on the plane. Catlin denied having children [to quote Lina Lamont: "that's what you think"]. He said Marley was thrilled to bits. He likes Marley a bunch [I'm surprised]. She's a sweet kid. He doesn't know Victoria. Ralph was worried to hear he had family in the form of Garrisons. Catlin likes bringing families together. It won't be long now. [poor Ralph.]
Edouard warned Kathleen and apologized. He thought she'd told Cass. He let her know she could back out of California but she is resolved. She told him he [Edouard] was the only one who helped. He has hope for her. Exit Edouard. Enter MJ to speak her piece. She declared the whole California thing to be bogus. Kathleen does not want to go. Kathleen told her she was trying to do the right thing for herself and Cass. Cass deserves better. He needs a woman who loves him for the jerk that he is and knows he loves her. MJ told her she'd described herself.
Cass: if she wants to go out to California with some aging matinee idol, let her. Wally: you love her, don't you? Cass: sure I love her. Wally: well then tell her. Cass: do you think I haven't? I've done everything but carve her name on trees. Wally: well tell her how mad you are. Cass: I've asked her to marry me. Wally: right. Cass: I've sent her flowers. I even baked a stupid coffee cake for her. Wally: yeah, and what does she do? Cass: decides to wheel off into the sunset with Edouard Gerard and doesn't even have the decency to tell me. Cass is at a loss. He doesn't know what to do. He thinks Edouard means to get Kathleen dependent on him while they're away. Cass figures he can persuade Kathleen not to go in a week.
Vic overheard Donna checking on flight 431 from Chicago and asked her what was up.
Jake spotted Catlin. Catlin propelled Ralph forward. Marley flung herself on him [Ralph, not Catlin]. She introduced her fiancé. She said he'd meet Victoria tomorrow. Marley thanked Catlin.
Vic told Donna Marley had called her on her private line and was meeting their father at the airport. She suspects Donna already knew. Donna said Michael had called her when Catlin found him because he wasn't sure whether she'd want to see him. Vic didn't seem to buy the story. Donna got defensive rather than answer further questions.
Neal and Mac played chess. Mac made an absolutely imbecilic move. Neal pointed it out to him. Max said he was upset about the treasure. He told Neal about Carl being the quintessence of evil and then switched in mid sentence to telling Neal to come to the treasure preview OR ELSE. Neal was worried. Mac confessed to feeling a little dizzy. He said he'd put up a $50,000 reward for information concerning the robbery. It was an inside job and he's hoping to tempt an underling. Mac's sure they'll be caught. Neal's not.
Marley took Ralph back to her place. He said it had as much charm as she did. [She was thrilled.] Jake said it was clean, too. Marley wants to know everything about Michael's whole life.
MJ let Cass in. She told him Kathleen wasn't in love with Edouard. Kathleen wheeled in. MJ left. Cass yelled at Kathleen.
Ralph would rather talk about Marley. Marley wouldn't. She's happy that the Garrisons are a large family. She would love a Garrison reunion. Ralph is not a vegetarian. He asked if Donna knew he was there. Marley said not.
Donna is in agony. She thought about Victoria's disbelief. She realized if Ralph told Marley he'd never called her after she'd told Victoria he had she'd be exposed as a liar. She sat out for Marley's.
Cass yelled at Kathleen about her slinking out of town. She said one couldn't slink in a wheelchair. He said one could. She got upset and said she was tired. He yelled at her not to cry and said he was sorry she was tired and he'd go away if she promised to listen to him tomorrow night. She dithered but he insisted and said she could go if she felt the same way after listening to him. He stomped out. She sobbed his name.
Victoria asked Peter to tell her everything he knew about Michael.
Ralph was induced to admit he'd been crazy about Donna. She came a-knocking. She was let in. She stared at Ralph. Marley asked her if she didn't recognize him.
