ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 7, 1986

Victoria let Donna know she was sure Ralph wasn't Michael.

Marley invited Nancy to the reunion lunch. Nancy can't. She's in Chris' futon waiting for him. Chris returned and collapsed.

Liz asked Peter if he thought Mac was weird lately. Enter Mac.

Kathleen's packing. She's not happy. She found a photograph of herself with Cass and seemed to have second thoughts. She had second thoughts about her second thoughts. Enter Edouard. He sees no reason for her not to pack her sexy lingerie. She's Avoiding Her Innate Sexuality. She wants to leave Bay City.

Wallingford told Lily about Kathleen. She means to rectify the situation.

Donna denied everything. Victoria is not impressed with Ralph. Eventually Donna admitted it and asked Victoria's help. Enter Ralph. [Dana called him Ralph but he didn't seem to notice Victoria didn't get strange.] Exit Vic [she remained within earshot, natch.] He's worried about lunch. Donna told him what an awful place the Northwoods inn was. Owned by a romance novelist, maitre d'ed by a man with definite underworld connections. Victoria was interested.

Liz left. Mac told Peter his great idea — BOOKS ON DISCS. Peter was unthrilled. Mac refuses to listen to anything. He invited Peter to dinner [after threatening to fire him if he gave anymore silly backchat] and told him to bring a girl. Peter said he'd bring Britt if he could find her. Mac has forgotten Britt [good man.] Rachel hires and fires so many people. He forgot she wasn't in town. Liz returned. She's worried. He exploded and told her to stop meddling.

Ralph borrowed Donna's card to pay for the lunch. Enter Vic. Exit Ralph. A foreclosure notice has come from the bank. Donna intends to forbid it after lunch. Vic will be a little late. She has things to do. Exit Donna. Vic got on the phone. She pretended to be Marley with a need to talk to Wallingford. They arranged to meet in Smiley's. She got out War and Peace. 'Well Mr. Wallingford... I hope you're as sleazy as they say you are."

Cass called Kathleen. She got Edouard to tell him she was out. He [Ed] hates it. She says Cass doesn't understand. He told her she couldn't run away. Exit Edouard. Enter Lily. Kathleen was thrilled. Lily taxed her with the impending trip.

Liz is worried about Mac. So is Peter. They agree Mac's idea is terrible and extremely expensive. She asked him about Brittany. He told her Britt wasn't after Catlin anymore. She's surprised Peter is serious about her. She's been missing for a bit. Liz hopes she's left town. Peter hopes she hasn't. Chacun à son goût, like. He warned her to steer clear of Mac.

Donna and Ralph arrived at the Northwoods Inn. Marley admitted she'd invited a bunch of Garrisons [Ellie, cousin Norman, and aunt Bertha.] Aunt Bertha raised Michael. Ralph said Aunt Bertha was a peach. The Garrisons arrived. Norman said Ralph didn't look like Mike. Donna said he did. Aunt Bertha couldn't come because of her arthritis. Ralph and Norman reminisced. Jake was eager to hear more of Michael's stories so Donna dragged Peter into the melée and introduced him around. Creating a diversion.

Lily was thrilled to meet Edouard. He took Wally to meet Marley in Smiley's. Lily tried to talk sense to Kathleen. Kathleen wants to be somewhere she hasn't walked. Lily suggested she come to Paris with her. Kathleen said she was totally dependent and Edouard could handle it but Cass couldn't.

The Love lunch is in hysterics. Great stories. Donna wants to go home. Ralph doesn't want to leave. He suggested they all go skiing this weekend. [we want to teach Jake.] Donna doesn't want. She wondered where Victoria was. Jake noticed Ralph shuffling cards funny and made remarks about it. A woman dashed up and insisted he'd been the magician on the SS Olympia this summer. He denied it. The Garrisons left. Michael picked up the tab. Marley is delighted with the day. Donna dragged Ralph off. Peter left. Marley and Jake are feeling pretty good.

Nancy came back from job hunting. Chris is dead to the world. He set the alarm for his next shift. He fell back to sleep. She turned the alarm off so he could get his beauty sleep.

Kathleen doesn't want to talk about Cass. Lily does. Kathleen says she has to leave because if she's there all he does is think of her and not Catlin. It won't work. Pity is no good. Lily told her to talk to Cass and forget about being in a wheelchair.

Liz called Rachel and told her there was something terribly wrong with Mac. He overheard and got upset [Rachel promised to come home] and yelled and fired her.

Ralph is thrilled with his success because Marley is happy. Donna is annoyed because the idea is to disappoint her. And if he likes Marley he should be telling her what a creep Jake is. They have to beware of Jake [cave canem] because he has a brain under all that moussed-up hair [mop of golden curls sounds better but we'll let it go]. Donna commanded him to write a goodbye note to Marley.

Victoria put on her Marley voice and asked Wally to help her with research for a term paper on the Syndicate and fencing. He asked why she wasn't wearing Jake's ring and was concerned she needed money. She denied it and said she'd forgotten to put on the ring. This is just research. He said he'd take her to the Pig Whistle.

Lily answered a call from Cass. She gave the phone to Kathleen.
