Brian asked Jamie not to judge Sandy too hastily. Ted (Brian's druggie son) is vair' sick. He has to go to him.
Sandy doesn't want Carl to know he was in the stables. So he asked Donna not to give him away. Donna is being defensive to Carl's questions. Donna asked after Mac but Carl said it was unimportant business. They left the stables and Sandy started rubbing at the horse. Colour came off though not noticeably.
Rachel got rid of Ada (they were all invited to the party at Sally's to celebrate the return of Sally and Catlin but Rachel sent her regrets. GOODBYE MOM.) She wants to have dinner alone with Mac. (You don't want to SEE Sally and Catlin? said Mac, utterly appalled.)
Carl says Donna spends her time in weird places -- until recently the wine cellar and now the stables. Donna's asking impertinent questions about the horse's projected sex life. She told Carl it was in bad taste to give his son's girlfriend an expensive gift. Reading between the lines I think perhaps Carl is complaining about their recent lack of sex. Hildy told Carl Donna wants him to move out.
If you ask me it's fishy that Jamie should be publishing a book about his adopted step-sister and the man she loves. Suspicious. Kathleen tried to get Jamie to take the paperback rights but he eluded her neatly. A rival publisher came to negotiate with Kathleen. (Mike Willis.)
Sandy arrived at Tallboys to find Brian gone. Jamie invited Sandy to sit with him.
Carl found Sandy's blackened rag.
Carl decided to stay to dinner at the Loves' with Perry & Nancy & Donna after all, much to Donna's alarm. Nancy's thrilled.
Jamie asked about the horse auction. Sandy asked for MJ & Jamie's help.
Kathleen is rather absent. She's convincing Mike that Jamie is desperate for the paperback rights.
Sally and Catlin stepped out of the party. They're depressed about Mark. Sally's certain Emily will eventually be caught. (Yesterday Catlin's shirt was unbuttoned and open and light. Today he's wearing a black turtleneck, which with the beard turns most of his person into a large dark shapeless mass. Surely there is a happy medium.)
Kathleen's pushing the book. Cass is sitting at the next table in a dress. He gestured frantically for Kathleen to meet him in the ladies' room.
Perry and Nancy are going to go for a walk. Donna gave Carl what for for ruining the dinner. Carl said the relationship between father and son is not all it's cracked up to be. Donna said she thought he and his father were very close. Carl said distantly that they had been very close -- he'd done his father's bidding but that still hadn't stopped him. (From committing suicide, I take it.) Carl's face crumpled and he's weeping.
Some floozie in the ladies' room is giving Cass advice about facial hair. And hormone implants to a fuller figure. Kathleen was rendered upset to see Cass helping this floozy adjust the straps of her slip. She was mad that he's in the ladies' room. She ordered him to leave and to leave Michael Willis to her. (Another woman appeared on the scene at this juncture as Kathleen left in a huff. Cass said sadly "Jealousy can be such an ugly thing.")
Liz is worried because she has a couple of nearly burnt pies. Mark KNEW about them, much to her embarrassment. Jamie arrived at the party. He's got to talk to MJ. Right away.
Rachel and Mac are dancing usw.* Rachel's dessert. They're relocating to the bedroom.
Perry's thinking about horrible Carl. Nancy finds Carl charming. Perry has no such delusions. Nancy's worried about the effect Carl's vendetta will have on her relationship with Perry. Mutual declarations of love. Kissing, kissing, and more kissing.
Larry and MJ and Catlin are going to go to the Love stables. (I see no need for Catlin to go but Larry wants him along.) The horse is possibly a missing racehorse. They won't let Sally come and there's no time to explain where they're going. (Good god you'd think he was going off to war.)
Kathleen is in a vicious temper. She's got a terrible headache and she gave up negotiating with Mike. She's annoyed that she's involved in Cass' mess. Thanklessly. He kissed her by way of thanking her. She wasn't too upset until he said "Was that thanks enough?" (The arrogance of that man!) She slapped him.
Larry et al arrived to take a look around the stables. Donna told them to talk to Carl but Carl's gone.
