ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 6, 1987

Donna held John's face and dabbed at his eye with her skirt. The guy snapped a picture.

Vince said he wanted to hear what MJ had to say.

Mac and Michael and Mitch chatted about Cass and Kathleen.

Felicia argued with Cass. She told him their friendship would be over forever if he left. He pled. She told him he'd got her through Zane's death. He said he didn't know what he was running from. She yelled at him and ordered him to accept Mac's job offer.

Donna was very conciliatory. John got back to work. Donna stared at him. Victoria rushed in with decorating ideas. Donna kept staring at John, almost provocatively.

Vince was reassuring. MJ told him that Adam wasn't to blame in any way. This set Vince off. MJ said she hadn't been honest with Adam about her life. Vince said she was making excuses for him. He told her she was too good for that bum. MJ blamed herself for Kathleen's death. Vince gave her a talking to. Mary convinced Vince that they should go to the restaurant. He left, assuring MJ that nothing was her fault. Mary very firmly told MJ not to tell Vince. MJ said Vince had to know before he heard some other way. Mary begged her to wait. MJ agreed to wait for a little while.

Victoria was just desperate for Donna's approval. (So wrong. So sad.) Donna suggested they go look at swatches. Victoria asked John to come. Donna said he didn't want to. Michael arrived with Chinese food. Victoria abandoned the shopping expedition. Donna gazed at John.

Felicia threw herself in front of the door. Cass said he could use the front door. She told him it was a symbolic gesture. She reminded him she'd never speak to him again if he left. He relented. They agreed that everyone loved him even though he was a jerk. They missed him. He said it was good to be home. They went back into the dining room and Cass told Mac he'd take the job. Felicia held on to Cass very fondly. Mary and Vince arrived. Mary asked Cass if he knew where Kathleen's journal was. She wanted to turn it into a book, she said. (SINISTER.)

Victoria was very friendly with John. He kept looking at Donna. Michael found Victoria's decorating ideas elegant. He suggested they all pitch in and help fix it up. Donna said she and Michael were going away.

MJ arrived at the office. Captain Delaney was glad to see her. He said nice things about Kathleen. She returned her badge. He asked why. She said it was personal. He tried to talk her out of it. Adam came in. They gazed at each other. Adam said extremely nice things about Kathleen. Captain Delaney came over all paternal and gave them a lecture. Adam was horrified to learn MJ had resigned. Cap'n Delaney warned her she was ruining her career. She said she had no choice. He threw up his hands and left. Adam: He's right. You know that. MJ: What's the point, Adam? My past is going to haunt me forever. Adam: You're a good cop, that's the point. (He's speaking rather softly and looks like he's on the verge of being on the verge of tears. Very sad. Very lovely.) MJ: Is that what you see when you look at me? A good cop? Adam: One thing doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the other. MJ: Don't lie to me. She threw him out so she could clean out her desk. He looked even closer to tears. Enchanting. She found a wedding invitation in her drawer and burst into tears.

Cass said he thought the journal had burned with Kathleen. Mary suggested they check it out.

Michael was surprised. He told Donna he was too busy with labour negotiations. He asked her to postpone it. She refused and flounced off. Michael followed her. He asked what the rush was. She said she had something wonderful to tell him. She coaxed. He gave in. Kissing. John saw them through the window. Donna pried Michael loose when she saw him [John] and rushed back to the house.

MJ cried a lot before resuming her packing. Then she convulsively shoved everything on the floor and had to kneel down to pack it up. Adam came in and found her, face wet with tears. He looked quite horrified. Without saying anything he began helping her pack. She held his hand. He shook it off and packed faster. She snatched her box and retreated to the door. She left. He found the invitation on the floor among the stuff she'd abandoned and looked about to cry himself.

Felicia insisted on giving Cass Crystal Gayle's room. He went to phone for his bags. Mitch and Felicia made suggestive remarks at each other.

MJ came back to Mary's Place with her box and told her parents she'd resigned. Vince blamed Adam. MJ told him to let her do what she had to do. He hugged her. He told her he'd never stop loving her. Mary put an arm around each of them.

Michael followed Donna and asked if she was sick. She said not. She sent him to get ready to go. She phoned to plan the vacation she claimed to have been planning for ages. She wants only to be a million miles away from Bay City.
