ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

November 5, 1987

Felicia fussed about Cass and Nicole. Mitch tried to lure her back to his place. Rachel came up hoping to find Sam.

The pot boiled over. Sam looked to it.

Peter tried to get Donna to tell him why she was so confident. He told her he'd seen through That Old Carrot. She said she didn't care.

Victoria clasped Michael's hands. She admitted she'd seen Donna and John together. He asked her to say exactly what had happened. They comforted each other. She told him about the photos. He asked who had sent them. She said Donna said Peter and That Old Carrot.

Peter admitted he'd been the photographer. Donna said the photos had been staged. [I saw an episode of Beverly Hillbillies once in which a woman rigged up a camera in a cuckoo clock and managed to get Jed into a series of moderately compromising positions. I think she was wearing a wig.] Peter promised to make it up to her and said he'd felt excluded. Donna went up to bed, smugly. Bridget chatted to Peter about Henry. Peter telephoned That Old Carrot to give him a hard time. That Old Carrot didn't care. He's expecting Michael. He has a paternal surprise for him.

Mitch wondered what Rachel's urgent business could be. Felicia took her aside to pump her. Rachel said she was worried about Amanda.

Sam poured the spaghetti into the sink without a colander, so they declared it unsalvageable. When Amanda expressed an interest in resuming making out, Sam decreed that she should be taken home in her dry clothes. He said he took this kind of thing seriously and he thought they should keep their relationship on a professional level. They like each other. She got dressed while he went to warm up the car.

Once Felicia had promised not to tell Mitch, Rachel explained that Amanda was in Sam's lair as Mandy Ashton and they didn't know and Mac didn't know.

Sam's car wouldn't start. He couldn't call her a cab because he'd spent all his money on spaghetti, I guess, and when he asked if he could pay her back she said all she had was a dollar. [I may be too hung up on logistics, but I'm a rational being. In the first place I don't know why he should be obliged to pay for her cab. In the second, she could always pay the cab from cash lying around the Romance when she got there, nicht wahr? Obviously she doesn't want him to see her house, so a cab is better than having him take her to a house she probably couldn't find again and then having to stomp home in the pouring rain. [would he know where Adam lived? Maybe she could have claimed to live there with him, even.] I guess she doesn't want to go home at all.] When she tried to get him to say what he thought of her, he suggested they make a break for it and run inside.

Victoria told Michael that Donna had told her it was over but she'd understand if she told Michael. Michael was not happy that Donna had shifted the burden like that. He comforted Victoria and was touched that she had tried to protect him. He promised her no one would ever hurt her again, kissed her, and went to visit That Old Carrot.

Rachel told Felicia Mac would blow a gasket. She said Amanda couldn't fall in love with Mitch's brother. Mitch strolled up.

Amanda accused Sam of faking the dead car to keep her at his place. He became more determined to get rid of her. She tried to phone Julie Anne for a ride, but the phone was dead. He wouldn't let her walk home. She suggested she could sleep on his floor, unless he thought he couldn't control himself. He accepted the challenge.

Michael burst into That Old Carrot's apartment and called him a coward for having Victoria do his dirty work and nearly getting her killed. That Old Carrot said that Donna's affair had caused the accident. Michael asked how he'd known about it. That Old Carrot bragged about his powers of perception and told him that Donna had been two-timing him for twenty years. Michael asked what he meant. That Old Carrot seized his cue with delight and produced an envelope which contained proof that John was the father of the twins. Michael refused to believe it, so That Old Carrot handed him John's unmailed letters. Michael socked him and left.

Peter came up to Tops. Mitch and Rachel attempted to chat innocuously about Sam but Mitch wasn't having any. Rachel left. Felicia told Mitch to come and find out what she knew. They left as That Old Carrot came up, ice pack pressed to his cheek.

Michael sat in his car and read John's horrible letters.

Amanda blithely took Sam's mattress and cowered when she heard thunder. [EVERY WOMAN IN BAY CITY IS AFRAID OF THUNDERSTORMS. UGH.] Sam confided that he was afraid of failing to be the greatest artist who ever lived, and she confided that she was afraid that people didn't like her because they judged her by who and not what she was. [Babycakes, I hate you because of what you are, not because you're a Cory. Trust me.] He was puzzled.

Peter did not feel like celebrating with That Old Carrot. That Old Carrot gave him a company. Peter did not fall on his neck. That Old Carrot said he'd come around. Peter tore up the papers and stomped out.

Michael read the doctor's report and refused to believe it.

Amanda claimed that she meant people were prejudiced against blondes. They went to sleep.

Peter found Donna waiting up for Michael. He told her she'd survive if she lost Michael [in a very friendly and fraternal way]. Donna took it wrong. He shut up when she told him about the potential baby.

Michael asked Jamie to do an honest test for him. He left to put his house in order.
