Larry wants to get moving. MJ said the captain was calling of the investigation. Larry refuses to back down on it. She says if he goes out now he could get killed. Willa's stuff was unlisted stuff. Jamie congratulated him. Cass told him how much Kathleen respected him [Jamie]. Kathleen wandered in saying "If I have to work with Cass Winthrop ONE MORE DAY I'LL -- " She saw Cass; Cass made a graceful escape. She complained about him at length. Jamie taxed her with Lesoleil and not telling. She told him how set on the other job she was. He told her that Cass already had it.

She wants to get to know Dee.
The captain told Larry to obey orders. Willa's stuff is completely peculiar to Bay City. DRUG LAB IN TOWN says Larry.
Dee tried for a waitressing job at the Plains Motel. They told her she looked too etiquetted. She entered into this one run-on sentence [one breath] explaining everything about how she'd been a punk and done this for her uncle and needed money and had been getting dunked at a carnival, etc.. Bewildered they told her to come back in an hour looking right and they'd see.
Back off, Larry. Be careful. Larry raved about the mole on the department. Captain told him not to jump to conclusions.
An exquisite nameless gift came for Felicia from Michaud. She went to find Lily. Daphne and Gerhard approve of her. Kathleen called to discuss a disturbing rumor she'd heard. Daphne denied all. Dee rushed off determined to make the right impression for a job.
Kathleen found MJ eating chocolate cake and accused her of being depressed. MJ told her about Jamie. Kathleen said she should've moved in with him or made some form of commitment. MJ said she loved him but the timing was all wrong. Kathleen told her briskly timing had nothing to do with it and she should make some decisions knowing how she felt about him. MJ told her in essence to dry up stop dispensing advice like a broken cigarette machine and salvage her relationship with Cass. GO TO CASS.
Daphne came to Cass' door. Cass: Daphne. Daphne: hello, Cass. [towel-clad. Homeric epithet?] Cass: I'm soaking wet. Daphne: I can see that. Cass: I just got out of the shower. She invited herself in. She asked what he had to say for himself.
Dee loves the job. She asked about a job for Carter. They might have one. She picked up the other girl's pen inadvertently when she went to serve Larry. The other girl worried when she couldn't find it.
A toast to the new house. Quinn tried to broach the subject of Dee to Carter but Lily directed the young Todds to bed and tried to get the old folks out to leave them alone. He said tomorrow. She said tonight. He said he had a meeting with another job offerer but later this evening? She agreed and left. He called Wally in urgent need of speech with a friend in city planning. He rushed out still robed and returned in a minute.
Larry complimented Dee on her pen. She gave it to him. Top and all. The girl saw. "That's it. He has my pen. We have to get it back before he finds out what's in it." [They know he's a cop.]
