ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

July 3, 1985

Britt found Zane at the marina. He was thrilled. She told him she'd done a lot of thinking. He asked if she were going to stay in Bay City. Enter Felicia disconcerted to find them standing so close to each other.

Daphne asked Cass how his search was progressing. He's having dinner with some women this evening. The field should be narrowed down by tomorrow morning. Daphne asked to see the list of finalists before Michaud. Cass protested. Michaud backed up Cass. Cass left. Daphne said he'd made her look bad. He took her folder of papers from her and offered her a pile of jewels instead. She wants the papers. He held them away from her and told her she should think this over. She said she had.

Cory got the matches. Clarice came to the door and couldn't open it on account of the chair Cory had placed there to keep Jimmy and Polo out. She rushed in the back and dragged the children out and told Cory off for playing with matches and gas. She was very upset. He took fits and said he wanted Daddy. The phone rang. "Hi Clarice it's me." "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Well I thought I'd call and see how everything was going --" "FINE. Everything's FINE." "Well how're you feeling?" "I'm feeling FINE THANK YOU." "How are Cory and Jeanne --?" "THE CHILDREN ARE GREAT" "Is Cory behaving himself?" "HE'S BEEN A BIG HELP. WE'VE BEEN FINE SINCE YOU LEFT. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL."

Michaud tried to talk Daphne out of whatever it is she wants to do. She said she was grateful to him for what he'd done and kissed him. He relinquished the papers.

Felicia left. Zane told Britt it had made him mad to see her wasting all that time on Catlin. She said no more. She told him she was going to start trying to get her life back together. He found that too vague. She said she'd told Catlin she'd divorce him -- she's been Mrs Josh Peterson for too long and Brittany Reynolds has some catching up to do. He offered her anything she needed to get a new start but she said she had everything figured out. She said she'd set some long term goals for herself and since EVERYTHING SHE WANTED was in Bay City she'd stay. He asked what she meant. She fled.

Larry called Tommy Lee and arranged to meet him in the basement of a warehouse corner of Yancy & Fuller. He's to come alone. Tommy Lee's sending Jimmy and a gun.

Catlin told himself it was a stupid idiotic thing for Larry to've done and Clarice couldn't find out. He put the drugs in a paper bag and shoved it up the chimney. He took the briefcase outside.

Felicia and Michaud went on a picnic. They get along real nice. She wonders why. He says he wants to make his partner happy. He wants to spend more time with her. And he wants her input for American Lesoleil. She was flattered and surprised. He feels like he's known her a long time.

Adrienne overheard Tommy Lee and Jimmy discussing doing away with Larry.

Catlin told Clarice (who doesn't know where Larry is) to tell Larry he'd found his briefcase and had to talk to him. He told her not to worry and left. Adrienne called to warn Larry but Clarice raved at her about her wrecking their home and buying Larry expensive gifts. Clarice told her to tell him he'd ruined their marriage and she hoped they were both miserable.

Cass: It's my pride that I worry about. I'm extremely vain, you know. Daphne: Oh. I never noticed that. Cass: Well I know I appear to be the model of humility but when it comes to women I know beauty when I see it. Daphne: Well I'm looking forward to seeing your choices. Cass: I can show them to you now. Daphne: They're here with you now? Cass: Well, sort of. I have reasonable facsimiles here in my briefcase. He showed her their photographs. He loves them all (Melinda, Glynn, Marissa, Sascha, Brett, Erin.) Daphne says they're too glitzy and superficial. He'd best find someone else. Daphne then ordered her appointments rescheduled and told Roberts she was going to the Chapin Mansion to chase her dream.

Catlin on the phone to Sally. He misses her horribly. He rang off and Britt came a-rapping at the door. Up to no good, I'll be bound.

Larry hiding behind a crate thought about Clarice throwing him out. He has to do this.

Felicia asked Zane about him and Britt. He said they cared about each other as friends. He accused Michaud of having a thing for her. (Not that Michaud is there.) She says there's nothing to it. He's skeptical of Lesoleil. He thinks it sounds like a snake oil operation. He says nobody can put love or beauty in a bottle.

Britt has brought over papers for the divorce. Catlin's looking at them. He's got something wrong with his shoulder. He thinks the divorce is for the best and he appreciates her going through with it and he knows Sally does too. She asked where Sally was and he told her in Washington with Kevin. She knows all about how he got the shoulder injury. He said he'd take a hot bath tonight. She said she was a lot better than a hot bath and she'd massage it for him. She then told him she couldn't do a good job with his shirt on and undid it. When we returned from commercial Catlin was shirtless lying on his stomach on the floor (he looks to be about 3x the length of the couch) with Britt kneeling on his back still kneading his shoulders. The following bit I find too painful to deal with so I'll just write what they said. Catlin: Oh, this feels so good I could go to sleep. Britt: Shoulder feel better? Catlin: Mm, much better. (Silence as Brittany continued with her massage and then wandered down his spine.) Brittany, it doesn't hurt down there. Brittany: [laughing strangely] What are you worried about? Catlin: I'm not worried about anything. Britt: Yes you are. I can feel you tensing up. Catlin: I just feel funny like this. Brittany: Like what? Catlin: Like what? Like THIS. In Sally's house, too. Britt: Well we're not doing anything WRONG. Catlin: I know that. Britt: So do I. Who are you worried about? Sally and Kevin are in Washington. Catlin: Somebody might come in. Brittany: Like who? Catlin: I don't know. Somebody. Brittany: You know what I think? You're just worried about your own feelings. Catlin: What are you talking about? Britt: About us being here alone. And what we're doing. What we COULD be doing. Catlin: [getting up and walking across the room] What we're doing is over. And what we could be doing AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. Brittany: I haven't touched you like that in a long time. It felt good. Catlin: Yeah well that -- that's good. (I think we can take it he was at a loss.) Now come on let's get back to those papers. Britt: It feels so weird being strangers when we were lovers for so many years. Don't you ever think about that? Catlin: I don't think about things that happened years ago. Britt: You know I know your back. When I was massaging you just now I remembered how every muscle felt on the palm of my hand. Catlin: You didn't come back here to sign those papers, did you? Britt: I did. I did, I swear I did. But I didn't think I was ever going to touch you again. And when I did I wanted more. Catlin: Look, you came over here to end a marriage, not to get things started again. So come on. Let's deal with these papers. Britt: You find me attractive? Catlin: [pause]: Of course I do. Britt: You find me desirable? SILENCE (not however the sort that lovers are prone to). Catlin: Come on. Let's see to these papers. (She just sort of put her palms on his chest.) Britt: I want you, baby. Catlin: Brittany, this isn't going to work. (He's staring down. At what I couldn't say. Could be just not at her face.) Britt: Don't you ever thing about how -- 'bout how GOOD it was? I do. All the time.

Larry bravely told the figure wot appeared in the warehouse that he had 2 armed men waiting to blow him away if he didn't behave. He said he'd told him to come alone and if he sent his honchos away maybe they could strike a deal. (Unbeknownst to Larry Tommy Lee ain't there. Just lackeys.)

Cass saw Daphne at the Chapin Mansion on the verge of pulling wallpaper from the wall in search of something.

Gunshots. Scuffling. Larry's been deprived of his weapon. He's aware that Tommy Lee's not there. He's not likely to live.

Catlin: Brittany. What we have is real strong. But it's over. Britt: Emotionally. Physically, we FIT. Catlin: The past three years have changed all that. Britt: You keep saying that. But I don't think you mean it. Catlin: I do mean it. We both moved on. Britt: I didn't. Catlin: Stop saying that. You did, we both CHANGED. I met Sally. And you met Zane. Britt: I don't love Zane. Catlin: But I DO love Sally. You have to believe that for once and for all. Britt: I've never been to bed with another man. Did you know that? (This is where I started to feel really sick and mortified and HE started to stare at the floor in earnest.) You're the only one I've ever been with. (REAL LONG AWKWARD SILENCE. Oh dear oh dearie me I could just die. I don't know about Catlin but that makes me feel really rotten. It doesn't move me to want him to sleep with her though. But golly do I feel ill.) Catlin: Well guess that has to change, Brittany. Britt: I don't think I could ever be with anybody else. Catlin: You better try and change your mind. Because life can get real lonely when you're all by yourself. Britt: Don't you feel lonely right now? Without Sally? Catlin: Yeah, I miss her. Of course I do. Britt: I've been alone too. A LONG time. Let's make love. Just one last time. [LONG SILENCE] We could make goodbye -- beautiful -- instead of painful. Come on, Catlin. Let's make love.

She's going the wrong way about it I can tell you that now. I know all about how to seduce Catlin. She's being too forward (or at least STRAIGHTforward). While that might work on a Sagittarius it takes a different approach to get a Pisces. What one does is intimate one is interested and then pull back. Pisces like hard to get. At the very least she could've caught him off-guard, like in a life-threatening situation or when it becomes apparent that Sally just isn't ever coming back. But flat-out asking is not good technique.

Catlin who gets real mad at Larry who looks like he's cheating on his wife should keep in mind that there are a million reasons not to go to bed with Brittany, starting with the very general "I'll kill him" to the more specific "I will deep-fry him in a pot with carrots and things and make him read Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Quentin Durward alternating chapters." Add to that that Sally will be similarly motivated I should think that this would be his cue to say, "Well um you see I don't want to do anything to hurt Sally and I did assure her before she left that everything was all right." Actually I see the dialogue running something like this: Catlin: Sally would kill me. Britt: She doesn't have to know. Catlin: I do. And I'd have to tell her. We don't keep secrets, Sally and I. (I met a Man when I went walking, we got talking, Man and I. "Where are you going to, Man?" I said (I said to the Man as he went by) "Down to the village, to get some bread. Will you come with me?" "No, not I.")
